  1. TAs don't book MSC because if there's an issue....it's hard to get MSC to co-operate. Things that are simple on other lines (i.e. price change) are "cancel and rebook" on MSC. They spend a lot of time and make little money.
  2. Your review is making me smile....not one complaint! You're not even complaining that it's the captain's fault that the ship rocked and rolled! Enjoy the rest of your trip.
  3. $170 for 3 days.....sign me up and I won't complain!
  4. My understanding is that it only applies to "the first name" on the reservation. So, if you took the excursion without him, it would have been $69! That "free excursions" is really blatantly false adverting.
  5. I think that your offer is based on what you paid for your current cabin. So someone in an OV who paid more than someone else in the same category will be offered a lower opener for a balcony,
  6. @StockjockYou need to do the "cancel and rebook" dance that I do. It's just easier....... As far as this sailing....if I'm reading correctly it was a 3 day cruise. If one day is messed up, that's a third....if two days are messed up, then it's more than half of the trip. If it were a longer cruise....the "messed up" days would have been forgotten by the end. Sounds like a very aggrevating 3 days........
  7. But, if there's a price drop....will they adjust? My story...on a currently booked Mera sailing. I had to cancel and rebook 3 times...for the same cabin. The last time was the same promo...but about $150 less. I assume that whatever benefit you get by booking during the cruise....you'll lose that benefit if you qualify for a price adjustment.
  8. But could you sail to Bermuda unvaccinated? I thought Bermuda was stricter. In any event, OP is angry because he didn't get a refund....so I guess I should never sail with NCL again.
  9. Some people sail for the food; some for the drinks....as a "self confessed bling lover" I sail for that staircase! I'm in the middle of the review......I love the necklace OP is wearing. Is it larimar?
  10. I'm not clear why OP met the covid standards for Bermuda but not Canada....... At that time didn't they both require testing and vaccinations? And the ArriveCan, unlike the Bermuda TA, took about 5 minutes to complete....... IMHO....OP was just upset because of the itinerary change.
  11. I'd call and discuss. If it's after final payment it could be "a disaster". Even before, it may change the pricing/promotions. I've had to cancel and rebook 3 times (same cruise...same cabin) because the reps have limited knowledge. Just be careful....what you think is "simply going from 3 to 4" isn't so simple.
  12. I had to call my bank once (I didn't tell them I was cruising ever before...but it became "a thing" on that particular sailing) so I was able to use the number on the back. Of course...if you have it digitally stored, it probably shows you their phone number anyway. Although most likely not necessary, I'd take it just because I'd feel more secure.
  13. OK...that's what I thought. I did just check...and it said it had to be claimed by 10/14, which is probably why I claimed it. I really never pay attention to offers....lesson learned. I should! DH didn't want to go on "yet another cruise" but now that we can save $300, he's all in.
  14. My husband has an Amex card....it's blue (other than that, I don't know what rank or tier). He uses it about once a year, for about $50 (just to keep it active). Thanks to this thread, I saw that he got the offer and I put it on his card. A few days later I noticed it wasn't listed under "offers" but was still on his card. I just assumed that it wasn't listed under "offers" because it was on his card. As of this morning, it's still on his card, but not listed under "offers". Don't know what any of this means....just reporting in.
  15. "Sold out" buffet????? RCCL wouldn't be for me. Thanks for the "heads up".
  16. Yes, that's exactly it. Being your friend is not in their job description. I was on a Carnival cruise a few weeks ago....and I had a great time. Although I enjoyed myself, I don't think I'll be going back to Carnival. It's based on "the ambiance" and what/who I relate to. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I enjoyed mine!
  17. No....there was a thread about that recently. The "MSC People" have a sense of style. Even when casual (during the day) they are "put together well". Not dressy....just know how to dress...and, in general, are much more appearance conscious.
  18. Perhaps at that time non-Americans were having problems getting into the states due to covid/travel restrictions etc.
  19. "Your fellow passengers" would be completly different. MSC, for the most part, were sophisticated non-Americans...with a sense of style. The entertainment is excellent....professional. None of those "passenger game show" events. And the ships are absolutely beautiful. Let's just say Carnival doesn't attract the same folks........ As for the food, I didn't starve on either line. On MSC the pizza was excellent (I'm an old NYC pizza snob)...and that's about all that was excellent. On Carnival, the food on my Sept Magic cruise was much better than prior (pre pandemic) Carnival cruises....but again, nothing to brag about. The workers on MSC don't get in your face. They're busy cleaning all the beautiful fixtures. They don't try to become your best friend. The way I put it is....sailing on MSC is like being in Italy without having to fly there.
  20. Not a solution...just an observation. Maybe it has to do with "whose number was used for the booking" A couple of years back we booked under my husband's number (it had to do with status match and he matched higher than me for some "only known to MSC" reason although we were on the same cruises) and then, as I recall, I wasn't getting points. But, covid happened; the trip got canceled; and I had to do another match.... When you call, does the rep have her correct number?
  21. Thank you for the review. "Reservations" aren't my thing nor are slippery floors or crowded atriums. I understand why the Prima isn't your first choice. You didn't mention a casino so I assume you're not a player. But if you were there, was it a decent size?
  22. I've always thought of it like going to Italy without having to fly there. The decor is breathtaking.
  23. Time to lighten up! Even "the poster" appreciated my comment.
  24. You certainly are wrong. DH and I are "buffet people". We rarely go to the MDR or any specialty restaurants (skip the ones we are entitled to on NCL) because the buffets have a better variety of food. And you don't have to wait for the waiter to bring one slice of cake....
  25. @munchkin1208Thanks for the tip. This works beautifully for us. Thinking of a 1/8/23 sailing....and historically we book close to sail date (health, weather etc). So we can book 10 days in advance with a few hours to spare!
