  1. we heard some E ships are doing the 4 mdr res again, from the online Cruise planner.. ... possibly ASCENT. the res system worked well for us. no lines, no beepers! others without res would line up ..short wait generally
  2. there are several threads on this already.. results are mixed...
  3. We had a great Celeb excursion at Santorini.. Included a tender to a bus area with.early arrival at first stop .( Oia?) .easy photo ops..Then to a picturesque winery for a tasting...Then bus back to town. It was very hot by time we arrived so we just.walked a bit, took the cable car down..no lines..grabbed a snack at the tender area..and then back to the ship! Now that Akrotiri( sp,?) is open we would book that tour! We had no crowds in Mykonos...a fun port.....Has great food, small shops & beautiful water... Easy tender service. Also loved Rhodes. We find many interesting and fun things in the Carib.. Some ports in Europe were repetitive..another museum, another church..but we enjoyed them too!
  4. ..i understand that is the case. .We enjoyed our rt cruise but it def added extra sea days. Luckily, we had nice sailing weather and lots to do on the SUMMIT! It was a memorable cruise...Pearl Harbor alone was worth the trip... but we have no plans to go back by ship or plane. Friends are doing the cruise fr Vancouver but not on EDGE!
  5. Not a great itin from our point of view.. Leaves from Vancouver... rather than Ca..For us in NY. more difficult travel. ..Astoria was not a port we care to visit again. We were there when it just opened and It was a tender port..(long tender ride) plus a train ride fiasco! Other ports are standard. We didn't love Maui.. did whake watching. but saw .no whales, and the town was Touristy..now if course mostly destroyed??? Can't recall but I think our cruise stopped at Ensenada as a foreign port..???
  6. i always thought the EDEN set up would be great for food demonstrations and hands on cooking classes.. not sure if they bake bread down there. We miss the cooking and baking demos where they picked a few guests to participate. They were very popular and fun! Held in the main atrium, EDEN and the old Bistro on 5..
  7. old news for us... Celebrity App has never worked with any of our Samsung Android devices. We have managed well without it, pre and post cruise. We download our cruise docs, boarding paperwork and luggage tags from the Cruise Planner. They take our photo at the port and do the health questions there. The safety video is on the cabin TV..usually.. No need to carry our phones around and I use my tablet to read & check e mail. We hear the App is often wrong as to schedules and menus
  8. Fine cut dishes look good.. esp the salads and lobster w ribeye....DH would order steak without lobster (allergy) or prime rib if available.. Thanks for posting.!
  9. Kudos for signing on to this hike..Only for the young and fit..! we snorkelled below!
  10. world class bar was a nice spot on Beyond..interesting drinks..tried the Aztec.. nice cozy table views of the Martini Bar without full on noise!
  11. thank you.. it was quite bad on EDGE and we were not near the rail. But we can def survive for 5 minutes! We hung out at the World Class Bar on BEYOND, ..great spot to see the action but quieter..like private box seats! Hope you all are having fun!
  12. As we pack for Sunday sailaway, not happy to hear about more activity on the Rooftop. We will likely write off the serene Garden area in the afternoon, if they have it set up for Pickle ball..PLINK, PLINK PLINK ! (sound carries far and wide). Hope our 6 pm dinner there will be quiet.. with a nice sunset. We prefer the quieter side of X. All of a suddenly they seem to have taken over quiet spaces for putting contests, loud music etc They need a dedicated sports deck like X ships used to have. We are inventive and will find quiet spots to read & relax..despite X changes otherwise.
  13. oh my.. We have res at Fine Cut for 6 p.m on Sailaway Day for my b day...We booked an early time to avoid noise from below. Hope we can sit way back...hopefully they won't have the show. if they do have it approx how long will it last? If its too loud we will have to leave.
  14. we cruised RT from San Pedro Ca on Summit when she was young. ( 5 days ea way) Flew from Ny.. 2 nite in port pre cruise.. . Great ports, top notch excursions, nightime volcano views.. lots to do on board..craft and hula lessons..easy transition of time zones what OP posted had more sea days, fewer ports and flight back..not sure I,d book it..
  15. there will be several stores..wide range of prices and materials. fun to browse. If you wait and return for a secobd or third look ..prices can be flexible! HAPPY B DAY. I have a big b day to celebrate on board next week!
  16. the elec brush requires plug in outside of the bathroom and takes up an elec socket space...we use battery style for travel
  17. having been on E Class for last few yrs, the ship looks very cozy and inviting..and not dated or shabby! the pictures are great!
  18. is that the Steak salad? looks great! if the BLU cocktails are $15, does Classic cover up to a certain amt..then upcharge plus grat? Never ordered one before but thinking I might for my b day
  19. I think they used to.. but now it's just scoops% cones/ gelato..
  20. We only had the one short experience with Luminae on BEYOND.. one bread server took a long time to wander around..but then disappeared.. BLU always has a nice basket with a good variety and refilled.. In Lum we had a great waiter and sommelier but it just was not our style.. Glad we tried it,.but happy going back to BLU next week on Ascent.
  21. I'd book Tuscan( our fav) and Normandie for one night..best to have something secured for a time you prefer
