  1. The reason may be that you are not giving the TA all of the Qualifyer's that you are inputting on the Princess website ? Such as past guest# , ages , state of residence ? TA should always beat Princess Direct as they are all permitted to discount even the lowest Princess rates that are available to you. Princess will not upset their main source of bookings , TA's.
  2. There are a handful of Obstructed view cabins on Deck 8 with partial views between the equipment . Best Obstructed are the most forward cabin and most aft cabin on each side . Deck 8 plan hints at those with some view
  3. TV news said that passport staff was reassigned or terminated during the pandemic due to drop in demand. Now staffing back up again , recruiting and training.
  4. Yup , the Cruise Lines are trying to get rid of those pesky seniors with all of the time and $$$ to cruise. Get real!
  5. On our Dec 2022 cruise aboard the Brilliance, they stated 2 punches required evey time.
  6. Check the menu’s onboard then decide , but reserve as soon as you decide. We only have done lunch in the Steakhouse and Bamboo prior. Loved them both but reserved late and got waitlisted for Bamboo . Coriander had greater availability. Intend to do the Steakhouse dinner on May TA.
  7. Sorry to hear that you are giving up on booking with a TA. There are some losers out there . As a former TA for a large cruise agency for over 17+ years , I would flip head over heals for a Cunard booking. Generally better commissions and permits discounting of their best rates . Cunard offers extensive product training . Interview your TA as to experience before booking.
  8. You must do any upgrade on this booking thru your TA. Be aware of the "new booking only" restriction on those close in Rate Codes. Call that TA and see what an upgrade will cost you.
  9. Virtually every cruise line, every cruise, plans to disembark and then embark on the same day, no problem.
  10. Always found great 1way transatlantic flight fares from USA using Cunard Complete Air.
  11. Cappuccino has always been free in the Britannia after dinner .
  12. Favorite of the present = Cunard QM2 Favorite of the past = RCI Sun Viking
  13. When ships and showrooms were smaller , drinks were served in the showrooms .
  14. You would be bypassing Customs . I say no way allowed.
  15. What has happened ? When I started cruising in 1976 the only illness that concerned anyone was seasickness .
  16. I like the 8 nighters that include 1 port stop like Halifax or Le Harve .
  17. 1976 my spouse had to drag me onboard our 1st cruise , NYC -Bermuda , 7 nights. Been almost 100 cruises since then as well as I sold cruises for 17+ years as a Cruise Specialist for a large Cruise Travel Agency.
  18. For a first time Halifax port call, Peggys Cove would be my 1st choice . If time permits , a city tour that includes the Fairview Cemetary and Citadel or at least a walk along the water to the Maritime Museum area . A r/t ferry across the harbor sails all day, from there.
  19. It is not that the cruise lines "including the mass market lines" do not permit TA's to discount their fares . It is that TA's are not permitted to "advertise" their discounted fares. You have to contact the TA for those discounts.
  20. Hey . your cruise is over , get a jump on Immigration lines , shorten your trip home time. Lastly get out of the way of embarking guests , as they did for you.
  21. There were some good deals for this May , last May .
  22. Your TA may have not qualified you at the lowest rate . Give them a call back . Cruise lines do not undercut TA's . Any TA can at least equal if not beat your cruise lines online or via phone rate.
  23. OP's prediction of the cruise guests conduct is right on. The Independence Day segment will be mostly Americans taking advantage of a QM2 cruise that does not involve flights. Cunard did a great celebration on deck on July 4th last years cruise . Please excuse us and our American ways , during this segment.
  24. Stick with the upgrade. The view ,as worthless as it may be , is far better than no view at all . Sleeping in a closet as many feel about standard Insides.
  25. Last that I have read , CLIA states that 7 out of 10 cruise bookings are done by TA’s . A cruise line does not wish to jeopardize that supply chain that fills their ships by undercutting TA’s. Renaissance Cruise Line once tried booking direct for less and quickly went under as TA’s booked away from them. Also , many of the cruise line order takers may have never been aboard a cruise .
