  1. Every thing on the Princess web site is per person so why would I understand your variance. In loo of the info that it's for two of you it's a decent deal. The best deals are on the last minute cruises which are accessible on the top of the Princess page. Most people can't cruise with only a few weeks notice unless they are retired.😃
  2. In a full suite on Discovery I was not granted thermal suite access I would have had to pay. Newer ships have their spa in a such a way you cannot separate the thermal suite for suite pax, so I was told.
  3. I also buy gift cards on AARP. Keep in mind that if you cancel or get a price reduction the credit goes onto the gift card so you need to keep all of them.
  4. If you think $1000 a day is a good deal for a Mexican cruise enjoy, I sure wouldn't . I cruise in full suites on Princess and find your deal poor. At the $1000 PP PD rate I prefer a more inclusive premium cruise line. I'm doing a 28 day Med cruise on the Island Princess in an S4 for very little more then what you're quoting. You are quoting per person?
  5. That's more information then I could get out of customer service when I called. My best wishes go to Israel
  6. I enjoyed the "experience" on the Discovery recently. The food was ok but I didn't care for much of the offerings. I would not pay $149 for Octopus and Humus. The small filet was good. I've already paid for a dinner in the reserve dining room and prefer that.
  7. I am on the Island Princess for 28 days Nov 23 and two ports are Israel. Will Princess just avoid those ports or stay away from neighboring countries as well. What a horrible situation. My best thoughts and wishes go to the Israeli people.
  8. Lovely review. I will be on the Island for 28 days next month. Can you tell me where the reserve class dining will be? If you had internet how was the connection?
  9. The old contract stated they must turn it in to the pool. Who knows about the new contracts post covid. Princess chooses not to let us tip those we want who served us and they don't tell us how the pool is divided except it goes fleet wide and too many people are in the pool. Transparency is not their strong point and that's why I choose to reduce my daily gratuity to $10 PP PD. I specifically don't care to tip the entertainment or revenue staff amongst others who are now added to the pool.
  10. I don't drink and turned down the hard alcohol drinks although I did try the wines. They will serve a sugar loaded Shirley Temple or plain water. I asked for a diet coke and was told no it would spoil the taste experience! But sugar won't? I don't eat any fish and wasn't hungry. The last entrée is a small filet mignon which was perfection.
  11. When it first started invites went out to more random guests. Now that it is listed as a full suite perk that is not the case. When I went to the dinner in May there were many people asking how to get an invite and all were turned away.
  12. Of Course. I do the conversion using a currency converter on Bankrate. Many times their fare is less then ours.
  13. Thanks for the clarification. I am sailing in Nov for 28 days in a full suite. I don't drink so don't bother with any beverage packages. I will order my morning coffee with the door hanging menu which is still an included amenity and forgo any phone order room service. I don't use the APP so that makes no difference to me.
  14. Not really since looking at the prices of sailing from those countries is similar and frequently less.
  15. The crew gratuity is pooled across the entire fleet so we are supplementing countries that do not tip like Australia and New Zealand. Princess keeps a percentage of the grats for administrative purposes. The gratuity is used for crew incentives and parties so they don't get a lot of what you think are going into the tipping pool. I reduce my daily gratuity to $10 PP PD which I believe is fair given all the circumstances but you may disagree.
  16. What verdict? It's $5 to order room service in a full suite unless you pay the $14.99 up front. I have it in writing from my PCP in writing which I've posted on a thread about this subject.
  17. We saw dozens of Polar bears on the National geographic cruise. It was an ice breaker and they take you far north. We saw white whales and walked on the tundra.Of course it's more expensive but you get what you pay for.
  18. I sailed to the Artic circle on National Geo booked by Lindblad which does Longyearbyen and other small great ports. Their ships are smaller, around 300 passengers and it's a very immersive experience. Well worth higher price.
  19. I hated the forward suite with the slanted ceiling. I asked to see if I could transfer to any other suite even if it was less expensive just to get away from the suite. It has no closet space and is claustrophobic. Others may like it but I sure didn't.
  20. You picked one of the largest ships in the fleet so expect lots of people. The cabana idea is a good one for some quiet space. On port days the only lunch venue will be the buffet or a paid venue like the Pizza place. Do you have a balcony cabin so you can sit in your own quiet place?
  21. This is my response from my CVP about the $5 room service fee in my full suite Hello Ms. XOXO It is very nice to hear from you! There will be 5.00 charge for room service now for any food or beverage, sundries or retail items delivered to your stateroom. if you have not purchased the plus or premier package. There is no charge to change your mini fridge items to diet coke and there is no charge for ice, robes, towels, special needs and general room servicing needs. I hope that helps? 22. Pretty presumptuous. Many people don't drink, I am one of them and sail in full suites. Many people are diabetic and can't drink, many people are Mormon and don't drink, Many people attend the friends of Bob and can't drink. My friends who we sail with also in suites don't drink.
  23. I can confirm. You are charged unless you pay a flat fee of $15 for the entire trip. I am sailing in a full suite and got written confirmation from Princess when I emailed to complain that was no charge when I booked my suite. The exception is the hanging room service menu you put out the night before for breakfast which is still an included menity.
  24. I actually bought a gift card while on my last cruise because I ran out of OBC and needed more. I used my laptop and brought it to guest services showing the gift card.
