Hey all:  longtime reader, firsttime replier.  🙂

I went on my first RCL cruise in almost a decade that returned a few weeks ago (week long Harmony cruise), but this time I'd spent time learning about the various casino comps possible reading here:

My friend & I starting from 0 points played Craps (and occasionally Blackjack) anytime the table was open:  both smoking and non-smoking had very weird/limited hours:  Sometimes the table would open at 4-5pm, and then would close at 7pm, then re-open sometime after 9pm as best we could tell (we had a late dinner seating).
We'd usually stay on the table until 1-3am.  The dealers really made things fun and we took good care of them too.

Coming home and waiting a couple weeks for things to settle, I wound up at a little over 500 points, and my initial online offer was $100 off my next booking.  A different friend has been interested in an Alaska cruise and I said I'd go along, so I went ahead and used the $100 off (better than nothing I guess).

Now checking the online offers a week or so later I see there's many ocean view rooms, anywhere from 2-9 nights.

I was wondering:  if the offer says `2022 NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER SAILINGS OFFER` does that mean it's comped (besides port fees and taxes)?  What do the "misc fees" usually wind up being?  It sounds like reading here upgrading from the initial window room offer is a mixed bag depending on what they have available?

Appreciate any insight/experience others who've taken advantage of the offers can lend!

The port fees and taxes are set by whatever the current rate is for that specific sailing (so you can view this on RC website to know how much it is).

if you click “view itineraries” next to the offers it will show you exactly what cruises you can get comped as well as what cabin type is comped.

if you chose to upgrade payment is due IN FULL at the time of booking, even if the upgrade cost is more than a standard deposit.

This is the bit that now irritates me as to why bookings made through the offers are not subject to the same deposit/ final payment rules. We like to sail in suites so now we have to pay out a lot several months before final is due if we want to use our offers.

Is anyone else seeing the Club Royale offers site being busted? It immediately shows no offers, even before (and after) putting in your info.

Mine are showing up as they have been. When is the last time they showed up for you?

My mailers stopped (suggesting that my email address may have popped onto someone else's Crown & Anchor account when promotional materials stop showing up) a while back. The website wasn't showing me many offers, but I expected that given my minimal time in the casino over the past year.

However, since seeing these last few messages, I do see a new offer just popped up for select sailings (see attached list) with a comped junior suite plus $300 in freeplay. If it weren't for the two weeks I've already got coming up in December, I might consider it, but I just can't add yet another cruise right now. 😳

I had a bookmarked URL which had our last name and C & A number in it which used to work.  However it appears RCCL updated their system (which is actually much more secure) and now I have to enter details manually.  That is no big deal.  Our offers are still flowing normally.  Currently 2 on the books and once we reach prime again on our next sailing we will be good until 2024.

Where are you entering the manual details at?

EDIT: Oh now of course it seems to be working, just tried it again. Maybe it was a momentary glitch? It was saying no offers immediately, like it didn't even check my account. But trying it just now I see like 8 sitting there hah

That is where mine show up. Since the shut down I have never received one by email or snail mail. I had not had any them show up on the site until fairly recently. I had sent a half a dozen emails and made calls to the casino that kept telling me there was no issue with my email or anything else keeping me from getting offers; but then one rep finally said there was another name associated with my email and he removed it. Then the offers began.

The wife got that today, but for inside cabin, and a few less sailings. Her first offer since restart. Still none for me

Interesting, these are my offers as of today.

I wonder why they still keep the expired offers listed.

Thank you so much for sharing your lists, @AlohaLivin and @UnregisteredUser! It's helpful to see the variety of offers others get.

My list is tiny currently, but not empty surprisingly because I've pretty much not gambled in the ships' casinos in the past year. I really want to take advantage of that "Jackpot January" offer, but I've got a back-to-back mid-December through Christmas and it's probably just not going to be a good idea to add yet another cruise in January. Still, junior suite + $300 freeplay…

Happy to say offers are flowing again!  I've read somewhere that someone was told by Casino rep that they cut offers off for a while this year after booking the annual cruise benefit, and this really seems to be the case.  Benefit awarded after April update, I booked a cruise within a few days of being able to use the award (booked an October 30th cruise).  I would say from the booking in April until probably about September, offers were dry (nonexistent).

Currently have about 6 or 7 offers available.

Fiance got Prime for next year on the past October sailing, I'm really hesitant to turn in that annual cruise benefit next year, as we were getting more and better offers before booking and subsequent dry spell.

I have not sailed with Royal Caribbean before but have been offered a status match offer. On the offer list it shows “casino discount on any sailing through March 2023” but gives no indication what this discount might be. If I click “redeem” it sends me to the booking page to enter my info for one of their TAs to book it but never shows any pricing. I’d kind of like to know what the discount is before I commit to a sailing. Would any of you have any insight?

They are offering a status match for the casino or the cruise line? The latter is not possible except for from Celebrity (and it is not a full status match, meaning the top levels cannot be matched). I have not heard of them matching on the casino tiers (although it may be possible). It definitely is possible for them to offer free cruises based on your play on other lines. But I would be super suspicious if you are being taken to a TA to book since if you are really dealing with the royal casino you would be dealing directly with them and not a TA. If you could post a little more detail?

I have wondered the same thing. It would be super helpful if they would take those off, it starts to blur otherwise 😳

Looks like they are starting to drop off to current.  They usually do, just with a bit of a lag.

I’m sorry for the confusion. I was offered a casino status match offer. I go to the club royale offers page,  it shows me “casino discount on any sailing” as my offer, click the gold redeem button and it takes me to this page. It doesn’t give a list of sailing options, pricing or anything else. I’m guessing this must not be the norm for these offers.

I'd call to book, or ask questions.  I mean, even with the form, you get a "48 hour response" and you still have to confirm.  I always find it's better to just call to book casino offers.

There's no list because it's basically a coupon off any sailing.  They never give pricing on the offers.

I have just never heard them doing status matches for the casino, as I understand that they are not even doing status matches with their sister line celebrity, but as I said they may do it. But as @StephPS79said, calling them is likely your best option is calling the Casino line directly.

You mean you don't like giving RC a free loan for several months while incurring an opportunity cost for that money at the same time? The Casino Marketing Department thanks you for your play and looks forward to seeing you again soon, lol.

You probably already know this since you have been receiving cruise ship casino offers. An on-ship casino typically operates as a separately entity within the company. The casino is on the hook for a block of rooms whether or not the cabin is booked for a given cruise. Thus, it wants to maximize the number of cabins booked by gamblers and ideally optimize the mix with a higher percentage of big gamblers/on-board spenders. Once full payment is received, the likelihood of the passenger actually going through with the cruise increases significantly. Earlier receipt of final payment makes other bookings easier for casino operations, since it should have a very accurate room inventory at any given time. Knowing available room inventory also allows the casino to hold a room for a whale, something it won't do for a run-of-the-mill gambler.

Agreed but pre program revamp you could upgrade and final was still due at final time.
And I disagree they are on the hook for it as you say as they are not blocking these cabins off but merely repricing at today’s rates.

we sail every month and always in suites so it’s not small change we are talking about for an upgrade, which is why we are booking more cruises with other cruise lines  now. We have also been members of club royals since they started trialing it in its inception days

It's possible Royal Caribbean handles things differently, but I would be surprised. It's been my experience and understanding typically casino operations has a block of rooms reserved for which it is on the hook. By doing this, casino operations can ensure at least some high(er) level players will have a room available even if all other rooms are sold out. It's also how the casino host can make adjustments to the rate of rooms under its 'control', if warranted, as well as make offers on future cruises, without repeatedly engaging hotel operations (because doing so only impacts casino operations P&L, not hotel operations P&L).

Yes, you are quoted and will pay prevailing rates (minus your comp, if applicable), whatever that is at the time the comped room is booked. The hotel isn't going to cut the casino a deal on a room it could have booked itself at prevailing rates had it not been blocked for casino use; completely fair, given the casino doesn't share its gaming revenue with hotel operations, other than (perhaps) leasing floor space. The comp is an accounting adjustment from casino marketing funds to hotel operations revenue. That amount, plus what you paid equals the prevailing room rate at the time of the booking.
