Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

It's possible Royal Caribbean handles things differently, but I would be surprised. It's been my experience and understanding typically casino operations has a block of rooms reserved for which it is on the hook. By doing this, casino operations can ensure at least some high(er) level players will have a room available even if all other rooms are sold out. It's also how the casino host can make adjustments to the rate of rooms under its 'control', if warranted, as well as make offers on future cruises, without repeatedly engaging hotel operations (because doing so only impacts casino operations P&L, not hotel operations P&L).

Yes, you are quoted and will pay prevailing rates (minus your comp, if applicable), whatever that is at the time the comped room is booked. The hotel isn't going to cut the casino a deal on a room it could have booked itself at prevailing rates had it not been blocked for casino use; completely fair, given the casino doesn't share its gaming revenue with hotel operations, other than (perhaps) leasing floor space. The comp is an accounting adjustment from casino marketing funds to hotel operations revenue. That amount, plus what you paid equals the prevailing room rate at the time of the booking.

I know for a fact the cabins we have booked are not blocked as sometimes they are the only cabin left in that category and are available to general public.

While I am aware that they will look at a players card from another casino /ship’s casino and offer some FreePlay or even a free cruise, I was saying that I have not heard of them giving someone casino tier status based on a casino tier status from another cruise line. I know a lot of players and I have never heard of them doing that. The link you list isn’t about matching tiers, but for “Casino Royale Offer Match Program.”  They also do not award cruise status from other cruise lines other than from Celebrity and those are apples to apples matches since there are limits on which status they allow and those cannot be built on. I was just trying to clear things up for the OP and suggested that she call RCL for clarity 😊

Only a limited number and type of rooms are blocked for the casino for a specific ship/cruise. Not every room and perhaps not every room type. Once the casino allotment is fully booked for a room type (or if the room type wasn't part of the casino block), any comped request for that room type the casino is willing to support (for the particular cruise) is a one-off and goes through hotel operations to see if the desired room type is available -- same as would happen with a non-casino booking request for that room type. If the casino supports the booking outside of its allotment and the room type is still available to the general public when you try and book it, you get the room.

The point is casino operations is still on the hook to hotel operations for its block of rooms for the cruise, even if those rooms are not completely sold out. A 'one-off' outside the casino operations block of rooms doesn't change this arrangement, but it does increase the amount of casino marketing funds that will be transferred to hotel operations revenue.

Do you work for Casino Royale?
you seem to be very confident in exactly how they run their operations.

Just curious 😎

I have no connection to Casino Royale or RC, which is why I indicated it is possible RC does things differently in an earlier post.

Let's just say I'm familiar with the gaming industry and aside from that I've been comped a few times over the years. 😉

I can confirm this is accurate.  Your casino tier status starts at 0 with Royal, even when going thru the Casino Royale Offer Match Program and getting an offer.  (see pic)

I don't like the slot machines and don't like that table games (unless you bet big) don't gather as many points as the slots do.  I probably drop more money in the casino than the average slot player yet they get the offers and I get zip.  I sail Royal Caribbean.  Not fair.

  • 3 weeks later...

My wife has Casino Royale in her frequent callers on her phone (yes we have an addiction) and we have used them quite a few times and find the CSR are fantastic at assisting.  Often we find it is so much quicker just to call them as opposed to using any online tools.

Question about Masters Level.  My sister has that status and just booked her first cruise since pre-pandemic.  Are the benefits the same?  Still access to Coastal Kitchen?  Thanks for any information.  Katherine

Here are the Casino Royale rewards table which does show that Coastal Kitchen is still available for Masters tier members.

My husband is masters. Yes, she'll need to go to Coastal kitchen, to make her dinner reservation for the week. The Masters/key lunch in MDR on 1st day is real nice also.

But the port agents didn't seem to know about masters having priority embarkation. We'll find out this month, as we don't have a jr suite this time, to get on early.

When is her cruise? If it is not before 3/31/23 her status will be expired if she has not sailed since before COVID.

My hubby makes fun of me for having their number saved on my cell phone but of course he doesn't tease me when we go on comped cruises.😃

My wife and had an offer show up. 22Feb104 but no itinerary with it ? Does anyone here have the sailings ?

I thought I'd lost the PDF after booking my similar offer. This is 22FEB101, but I suspect yours may be a pruned down version of this one. On the other hand, it may be completely different, but it's all I can offer.

In my case, I happen to be planning on being in Orlando in mid-February, and I had an offer for a comped junior suite plus $300 freeplay for a variety of sailings, including Independence of the Seas on the 20th. When I checked availability, the only junior suite was a guarantee, so I knew that wouldn't work. When I checked later, I told the Royal Caribbean search that I was traveling solo, and a JS came up.

It turns out that there was one JS left on this sailing, but the muster station was nearly full (my guess), so they could only accommodate one person in the cabin. The solo price for this 4-night sailing according to the website? Over $5,000!

My cost, thanks to Casino Royale, including prepaid gratuities? $169.01, less whatever winnings I may get from the $300 in freeplay. 😁

I saw this offer show up on ClubRoyalOffers.com, but didn't realize it was one offer that includes three sailings. That's interesting. I do note that I've been downgraded to an inside cabin, which I'm sure is long overdue!

Coincidentally, we are booked for the Sept. Mariner sailing, from an instant certificate from our past November cruise.  I'd assume the tournament is open to everyone?  Since we didn't technically receive the invitation offer...

They usually aren’t, but I think they have done something where Club Royale members have been able to join in on an already booked sailing of theirs. That was 2015 or 2016, so I don’t know whether it’s still true today.
