Disembarking Escape...8:30am flight possible?

I was just on the Escape 3/12-19, but we had help with our luggage and disembarked at 8:30. I will be on the Escape 4/16-23 again, and this time I would like to make an 8:30am flight from Miami airport if at all possible.

What is the earliest you can disembark if you carry your own luggage? I believe if I could disembark at 7:00, I could make the flight. I would take an uber/taxi to the airport. I noticed that traffic wasn't bad at all the two Saturdays I was in Miami this month.

I would never personally book a flight that early.

The last day of your cruise would not be enjoyed. You'd be so worried on how or what time you're getting off the ship. Why put yourself through that?

However, you can book the later flight and just in case you get to the airport early enough, pay to standby for early flight. That's an option.

I'm going to try and make a 955a flight back home to Philly after our cruise. Should be interesting.:p

Good luck

We disembarked the GA earlier this month, did priority Haven walk off, and got to the airport by 8:10....where we stood in a security line for an hour.

Even if everything "goes right", there are too many variable outside of your control. No conceivable way I would try this.

No way. Even if you where the first person off the ship at 7. You have to get thru customs, to the airport and thru airport security. No way you could do that in 1.5 hours.

No to mention you would be worried about it the whole trip. Better to book the later flight and change in the stars a line for you. If the flight times home from MIA are not great look at FLL.

We fly in and out of a airport 1.5 hours from home instead of 30 min because it has much better flight times.

Not even close.

The last time we were on the Escape, they started walk off at 7:15. You would still need to get down the gangway, through the luggage hall, through customs before queueing for a taxi.

At the airport, you need to deal with checkin, security lines, and a potential long walk to your gate.

While we have never tried to be the first off the ship (we always grab a quick breakfast), the earliest flight we have caught using walk off is 10 am. And that is using first class checking at the airport and pre-check through TSA security.

Over the past 18 months, we have been delayed twice in the POM. Once we didn't get in until after 10:30 due to fog. And once we had passengers join the cruise at the first port (probably late flight made them miss departure in Miami) and Customs would not let anyone off the ship until they processed those people. Delayed disembarkation by 45 minutes.

Go for it. What's the worst thing that can happen?

OP asked if it is possible ?

Sure, it is possible - as for the odds ?

Personally, don't even think about - chances are slim to almost none ? Short of a police escort, lights & siren, and TSA Pre-Check at MIA.

Then again, it's her/his choice - clearly, they need or have travel insurance and willing to risk it by having plan B and C in place; and, invoke the the flat tire rules - go standby when delayed, for the next available flight later in the day, on a space available basis, etc.

Oh, mark this response - dated, next Friday, the 1st of the month. :D

Even if you do get to the airport by 8:00 there is no way that you will clear security in time- even with TSA pre-check. TSA lines are longer and moving slower than ever before. Agree with previous posts that the early flight will be on your mind and will take away from what should be a relaxing vacation.

Even if all the stars align and you make it to the airport, and through security, and to the gate before they close the plane doors (remember, 8:30 flight is when they try to get the plane pulled away from the gate, so boarding would begin around 8-8:15), if you have any checked bags, they won't be on that flight with you. I know United requires you check your bags at least 45 min prior to the flight departure time for Miami.
