jsglow Posted October 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Revamped itineraries in the Spring. The only difference is Curacao vs. Bonaire. All other things equal, which would you prefer and why? Thanks.
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Unless you dive or snorkel, are really into water activities, there is little to see/do in Bonaire. I much prefer Curacao. Very colorful, worth a revisit. EM

The April 6th itin. is still listed at the St. Maarten run so maybe I just wasn't aware that they did two different Southern runs.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted October 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2017 I'd have to say Curaçao. I love Mambo Beach, and you can do some animal encounters at the aquarium down the beach. There's more shopping and more restaurants. Picturesque Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2017 For me Curacao works best but if there is a port we don't care for we just make it a sea day on the ship. Keith
molole Posted October 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I'd pick Bonaire just because fewer ships go there. Many more ships go to Curacao so it will be easier to make it next time.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Don't know what you like to do ashore. Bonaire has built a new pier so now they can handle 2 ships at a time if they want to. There are very few shops here. Curacao has a lot shops and offers more in the way of tours.

jsglow Posted October 15, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted October 15, 2017 While I'm not sure why the moderators felt it appropriate to move a thread about alternate itineraries on a CARNIVAL ship, I will say that we do enjoy snorkeling among other activities. We certainly enjoy a good day at the beach, we like eco-tours more than T shirt shopping. But we recognize the limitations of being in our mid 50s. I'll spend some time on the destination boards but appreciate your continuing input here.
OCruisers Posted October 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 15, 2017 If you enjoy snorkeling, you will LOVE Bonaire! :D
Rare Hlitner Posted October 15, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 15, 2017 If you enjoy snorkeling, you will LOVE Bonaire! :D We would add that the best snorkeling (some of the best in the Western Hemisphere) is only found by taking a drift snorkel tour on a boat (you cannot do this from shore). And the best boat tour is on the "Woodwind" which is operated by a lovely young lady (Dee) and her husband. The only problem is that their boat is relatively small and you need to book very far in advance and her boat tour is well known and popular. cbelc Posted October 15, 2017 #17 Share Posted October 15, 2017 We went snorkeling in Bonaire on the Sea Cow. It was amazing and we have 100+ pictures of us and the beautiful reef. Sent from my iPad using Forums
