we need to raise our voices in unison to get our favorite salad dressing back! Why in the world did they discontinue it?

 

Probably the most expensive one to provide.

We were wondering the same at lunch time today when the choice was French or honey mustard

Heck, I'd just be happy if they served the dressing that is mentioned in the description of the salad on the menu. Last week on the Reflection, the menu offered essentially a chopped salad with honey mustard dressing.....but when it came, there was no dressing on it and we were offered a choice of three dressings, none of which were honey mustard?? When we mentioned this, our waiter disappeared into the kitchen returning after a couple of minutes with a bowl of honey mustard dressing. (not his fault...no station had the honey mustard dressing).

I'm pretty sure it was in that Celebrity cookbook they used to sell. Also I think the recipe was here on Cruise Critic a while ago.

Yes it is in the new book. Also was given the recipe by our waiter - who had it made special for us each night once he knew how much I loved it.

 

Here it is:

4 whole fresh eggs

1 hard boiled egg

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

4 anchovy filets

1 tablespoon garlic (minced)

1 shallot (peeled, chopped)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)

1 tablespoon fresh tarragon (chopped)

1 cup light mayo

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

to taste Kosher salt

to taste black pepper (cracked)

1 teaspoon fish sauce

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

as needed vegetable oil

 

Combine all ingredients in a blender except for the oil and the herbs. While blending, slowly add the oil and emulsify. Remove from blender, adjust seasoning if needed, mix in the chopped herbs.

My guess is the expense comes from the number of ingredients.....

Not sure which dressing you are referring to, but I miss Celebrity's Goombay Dressing from many moons ago.

 

Here is the bulk recipe for Goombay Dressing that I was given while on the Summit back in 2005:

 

Lemon Juice 8 fl oz

Cider Vinegar 4 liter

Salt 3 oz

Dry Mustard 6 oz

White Pepper 1 oz

Curry Powder 3.5 oz

Parsley, Chopped 6 oz

Hard Boiled Eggs 48 each

Garlic, Very Fine 5 oz

Salad Oil 6 gal

Cumin 2 oz

Tabasco Sauce 2 fl oz

Sugar 8 oz

Jerk Seasoning (no amount specified)

Pineapple 1/2
