Casino Royale New Tier Program

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, I recently booked a cruise through casino royale and received about $350 off. We havent sailed since last December so we didn't have a certificate to apply. but I am wondering, is this similar? I ask because I note that someone posted that a $400 certificate is equal to about 800 points or so, however, I received my email and I am choice. I called to verify my points and didnt accumulate nearly that many. Just wondering if this casino discount is something separate? Thanks!

It has been my experience, only very recently, that if your cruise is more than 1 year out, the most they will give you now is 5% off cruise fare. I don't know if that is a percentage based on your tier level or program-wide discount rule. This is a far cry from the 20 - 50% we had been getting. On the other hand, we never got a comped cruise other than earning it through a casino certificate either so....

Thanks! It was close to 18% off. Our next cruise is less than 1 year from our last cruise.

I believe it is 1800 points for a $400 certificate. If you are a member of CR, you can call them to book a cruise any time and most times they can give a discount of something.

It's actually 1600 points for $400. $100 for each 400 points.

I just booked a B2B on 2/15-23 and then 2/23-3 March (using 1 complimentary cruise each for me and my husband). That is over President's Day (which is why I chose that week) so it looks like this is another "rule" that they are not uniformly enforcing.

That should not matter, I was able to use mine for an 8 night on the Anthem for 2/15/19, which is over President's Day.

After reading you guys were allowed to book over President's Day, I call Club Royale again. The rep said absolutely that was a blackout date and I could not book that week. Clearly inconsistent and upsetting.

As we know, if you don't get the answer you want, call back and speak to another rep. I did just that and lo and behold the second rep, after putting me on a long hold, changed the sailing to February 17. Happy camper :D

Laura's being told she doesn't qualify for a free cruise even though shes been granted prime status. They say she needs to requalify this year to get one. [emoji848]

Garbage! She has certainly earned one if she is Prime.

When I asked about using my (tier) comp for the Holiday sailing, I was told I can and they would only apply the GS cash value of $1500 to that sailing. Of course, I choose to select another sail date and get the total full value of a GS, just had to pay the tax :D I could have also applied my husband's tier comp with mine and get an OS, but decided to use book both tier comps separately and just do a B2B :D

Linda, Congratulations!!!!

This whole mess is so frustrating! Is it mid-2016 to end of 2017 or not? No one at RCCL gives a consistent answer, so I have no idea what is going on. The CR phone agents say one thing (16-17 qualification period, phased rollout, don't worry), then the onboard casino hosts say another (April 1 2018 onwards is what counts, I don't have you on my list, etc). So what is it??? So frustrating, and I'm not able to get a simple answer as to which tier I'm in out of a single person!

I will no longer speak with the "newbies" at CR. They have no clue as to what to do and don't know how to or don't seem willing to think outside the box. CR hired a lot of new people after they began their new program because people calling were on hold for hours. I have a few people who over the years have been helpful and know how to handle my questions. For those of us who have been in the program for many years...sigh.

If I took a tally of all the different responses I've received from many phone calls and hosts on the ships, the July 1, 2016-December 31, 2017 would win.

That is what i was originally told. Received another conflicting email today that said 12 month lookback 4/1/17 to 3/31/18.

How do you avoid the newbies? I have the names of a couple that have been very helpful to me, but I can never get them. When I ask, I'm told they aren't available.

Newbie for me is less than 6 months - And if I don't know their name. Some have been there a few months. Egads. If there is someone who is in the middle of researching something for you set up a time for them to call you back. They can make outgoing calls. And usually they like to call back at the beginning of their shifts.

The newbies aren’t new to Royal Caribbean but new to CR but still don’t know anything. Up to now, they’ve all worked in Oregon but now they also have a call center in Jamaica. I’ve been speaking with a Supervisor and I had to make 3 calls to reach him after he left me a message, asking me to call him back. The first person I spoke with said she wasnt allowed to transfer my call to anyone else and the second person said there wasn’t anyone named Ron. Finally on my 3rd call, I was able to reach him. VERY basic call center information that they can’t handle....not a good sign for what is to come. The CR reps used to be the best of the best but now it appears that won’t be the case.

Yikes, I came on this board today to post something totally different and ran into this thread. I'm a pretty frequent player and earned a free cruise on a cruise on Anthem last July and then $ off coupons on a cruise in March on Enchantment. We also have a total of 3 other rccl cruises booked for free based on mailings I get about once a quarter. So it's odd that I haven't seen a single thing about this until today. No email, snail mail or anything. I sent an email to Casino Royale this am so we shall see what they have to say. We also play a lot with Celebrity and noticed last month that the certificates we got from them were very different from the norm. Too many changes to keep up with!

Ok...so I'm totally confused....here is the situation:

We were on the Freedom in January 2018. I received $750 certificate and my husband received $200 certificate. I was also given a list of cruises that would be free...none fit with the dates we wanted. So, we used the certificates to get the $950 off of our Gradeur cruise to be taken in December 2018 (Grand Suite - first timers:D)

I called Casino Royale and was informed that I would be a Prime Member in December (I didn't receive an email). My Husband called and he is Signature (the lowest tier)...he is not a happy camper.

I see where you all are booking cruises, based on what? I'm not understanding what I get as a Prime member, other than the free drinks in he casino and the waived fee for cash. HELP??????
