Wingman2010 Posted March 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Sailing on the Constellation this Summer and the cruise ends in Venice (after spending the night in Venice). We've never done a disembarkation at a port the we spent the previous night at, was wondering how early we could self-disembark. Would like to get the earliest train out of Venice..... Hi-we have a similar situation at the end of our Trans Atlantic next month. This is what I was told: The time you can disembark depends upon when the ship is cleared. Notify your stateroom attendant that you need to leave the ship on the day it arrives (for you, in Venice). The stateroom attendant will handle the arrangements for you to disembark early. Just to be on the safe side, in addition to telling our stateroom attendant, I am also going to talk to Guest Services early in our cruise. Happy cruising. Beanb41 Posted March 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2018 The ship gets cleared upon arrival and one can leave anytime after that. We had an overnight last year on the Connie before disembarkation. Because we had decided to leave as late as possible we put our bags out the night before and thus were allocated a time for departure and collect the bags. Had we decided to take our bags off ourselves we could have left whenever we wanted to. On the final day once we checked out we couldn't check back in

I would research on the Ports of Call board transportation from the terminal to the train station. EM
ElmaLee Posted March 27, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2018 The Venice cruise terminal is close to the railway station, Piazzale Roma. It would be a very short taxi ride. Less than 5 minutes. There is also a light rail system from port to station but it might not be suitable if you are trailing luggage.
Alakegirl Posted March 27, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 27, 2018 5 minute by Taxi? Are you sure? That doesnt seem right
ElmaLee Posted March 30, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2018 5 minute by Taxi? Are you sure? That doesnt seem right I've done it. It's 5 minutes. Taxi takes you to Piazzalle Roma and you walk over a bridge to the railway station. Check it out in Google Maps.
Rare cruisestitch Posted March 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Just to be clear, Piazzale Roma is not the railway station.
ElmaLee Posted March 30, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Just to be clear, Piazzale Roma is not the railway station. No, but it is the closest that vehicles can get. It's just a walk over one bridge to the railway station.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted March 31, 2018 #13 Share Posted March 31, 2018 Generally the ships that overnight at the end will allow you to disembark the day you arrive as well as disembarkation day beginning ridiculously early in the morning, so it shouldn’t be a problem. You should make sure with Celebrity, though. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

They will check when you get to the ‘bleep’ seapass card machine on the way off the ship.
Bootman4U Posted May 23, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 23, 2018 The cruise line DOESN'T CARE if you get off early as long as you TELL THEM you are leaving and not coming back so they can account for you. Assuming the ship is docking in the usual Venice location there really is no need for a taxi to Santa Lucia station, especially if you have bags that roll. The suggestion above to look at the layout using Googlemaps is an excellent one.
