No it's not. I tried that last Feb & it has to be done in both places, so I hear.

Whether or not it has to be changes prior to booking is yet to be seen.

I'll know by this Wed or Thurs & post the results.

It honestly worked for us, on 1 cruise it was 3 in total

As cruisers on the Australian dollar charges ships we are delighted to receive the $50US credit as $66AUD we do appreciate the difference

I find this interesting-We have done a few cruises with the ship on $AUD as the base. Even a back to back where the first two cruises where withing OZ and NZ with $AUD and then the ship sailed for the Orient and the US$ became the standard. On those cruises the credits that should have been in $US were converted up to the $AUD rate. We will be doing similar cruises this March and all credit is now showing to be in $AUD.  $250 OBC for military should be in US but is showing in $AUD with no conversion . Actually, all OBC (FCC/shareholder etc.) is now showing in $AUD even though the ship is sailing back to China. Can't say we are losing money but certainly losing value as the prices will also be in $AUD. That is a change for us and will try and make sense of it once we board.

A divorced couple is probably not going to book a cruise together. We've enjoyed getting the credit on our past few cruises.

I had to laugh as my daughter, two granddaughters and her soon to be divorced husband are still taking their long planned cruise to OZ and NZ this Christmas. Each will take one daughter in their cabin and since both parents are Elite they will get separate OBC.  Oh and they are taking MIL and her husband. Could be a fun trip 🙂

Were the addresses changed prior to booking cruises?  I’m wondering if changing the address in the Captain’s circle is enough if the address on the booking is the same.

It seems as though Princess is now posting the loyalty OBC a little earlier than they used to. It appeared on my statement this morning for a cruise on 10/28.

The address has to be changed in BOTH places.....The Capt Circle address AND the booking address which I only changed last week although we booked many months ago.

The Princess member numbers have remained the same.

It’s nothing new & we’ve received it since we reached the Loyalty credit levels many years ago which as ‘sknight’ posted is refundable.

However haven’t seen it promoted anywhere on the Princess site & if you’re eligible should have automatically received it. The onboard Captain’s Circle rep issues the credit & sends a card to our cabin at embarkation. It wasn’t displayed as a credit prior to sailing but have read posts that it’s now viewable in our Cruise Personalizer about 5 days before sailing.

You are right, here I thought I received an extra $50 but you have explained where it comes from & not to expect another $50. This week will be our 40th on Princess & still have not been invited to Captains party.

So just to clarify did you both get the loyalty benefit

By this I think you are referring to the most traveled passenger lunch or cocktail party. Invitations are to the top 40 most traveled passengers counted by days on board, not cruises or cruise credits. Most times the cutoff is 500+ days. I have seen it as low as 421 days. So at 40 cruises you are getting closer. If you go on an Alaska voyage the cut off should be lower. On longer voyages the cut off spikes up.

This time of year the cutoff number for the most traveled function in the Caribbean usually run on the high side. I'm guessing the number for a 14 day trip/Caribbean/fall trip to be over 600. Longer cruises usually means more traveled cruisers that enjoy longer trips and there aren't that many in the Caribbean.

We'll see shortly. There's always hope we might make the cut.🙄

floridalover5623, can you just clarify that you got credits for both of you for your upcoming cruise?

Hope you enjoy that cruise!!

At first I though I might have received it for both of us on our first leg but upon further checking what they did is posted all of the loyalty credit for our B2B cruises on the first trip. (even though we booked it independently).

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately I guess having 2 different addresses does not work here in the US if you have the same Captain's circle number.  Well the same with the exception of the last letter.

I wonder how that would work for my kids now that they are adults.  We all have essentially the same number, we are just A, B, C, D & E at the end since they started cruising with us when kids.

Again, enjoy your cruise!

Our last 4 cruises its been listed in the travel summary about a week out from sailing.

Back with stupid questions:

Can I use it to buy the water pkg? 1 said only 2 days before embarkation, the other said water can only be bought with cc or PayPal. I've got a ton of credit

Also PCC said I can use it to pay gratuity but only on board, form says non-refundable not for casino or gratuities. Guess I'll know soon ~~~ 29 days to go

Have any of you used loyalty credits for either?

Loyalty OBC is awarded as follows:

After 20 cruise credits $25

After 31 cruise credits $50

After 41 cruise credits $75

After 51 cruise credits $100

It is one credit per cabin unless the cabin mates are not related.

Yes you should continue to receive the loyalty credit on every Princess cruise.

The key word in that is "after".  So it's just what I said above - on your 21st cruise, you receive one $25 OBC.

If you got $30 each like the person who posted above, it was not Loyalty OBC.  It was probably Group OBC from the TA.

You cannot as the pre cruise water has to be paid for immediately once you click on it to order.

Everything charged to your account onboard will be taken out of your OBC on the account first.

Credit/debit system. Non refundable is used up first then refundable......... Just make sure you use all of it up before the end of the cruise so you don't lose any.

Hello, resurrecting this thread to see if anyone can tell me what the current status of the loyalty credit is?  We got our first one last November and hoping to see it this October, but figured I’d see if it’s still standing amidst cutbacks.  Thanks!

The Loyalty credit policy is still the same.

Yes, I see it for my cruise Wednesday on the Island Princess. I'm taking the next cruise, June 26, as well. The loyalty credit hasn't shown up yet on that booking, so Princess is still posting that on the travel summary just a few days before a cruise.

Interesting, I don’t recall seeing it on our travel summary but we did get it.  Maybe I printed it off too early.  Thanks for the reply and have a great time!

This thread has two different versions of the loyalty credit and I don't know which one is correct. They are

version 1 - 20-31 cruises     $25                        version 2 - 21-30 cruises      $25

                   32-41 cruises     $50                                             31-40 cruises     $50

                   42-51 cruises     $75                                             41-50 cruises     $75

                   52 (& onwards) $100                                           51 (& onwards) $100

Version 2 sounds more logical to me, with each category ending on a 'round' number.

Completion of 20 or more Princess cruises (aka Loyalty level or "Super Elite") (posted typically only after you are on the ship)

Completion of 20 - 30 cruises $25 onboard cabin credit
Completion of 31 - 40 cruises $50 onboard cabin credit
Completion of 41 - 50 cruises $75 onboard cabin credit
Completion of 50+ cruises $100 onboard cabin credit

Limited to one onboard cabin credit per family

"Cruises" are actually numbered by "cruise credits."

Suite Passengers and Solo Traveler benefits

"Passengers who pay for and occupy a full suite (mini-suites excluded), will receive two cruise credits.
Passengers who pay the single occupancy fare and travel alone in their cabin will receive two cruise credits.
Passengers who pay the single supplement to occupy a full suite on their own will receive three cruise credits. "

http://www.princess.com/news/article.jsp?newsArticleId=na991

Each cruise credit is treated as a completed Princess Cruise for purposes of reaching Platinum (more than 5 cruises or 50 cruise days) and Elite (15 cruises or 150 cruise days) levels.  Cruise credits are also used for reaching the Princess Loyalty level (aka Super Elite level)(more than 20 cruises).

Suite passengers are currently being given a complimentary dinner in a specialty restaurant on embarkation night and breakfasts every morning in a specialty restaurant but the unlimited time on the Internet for Suite passengers has been dropped.

Aus Traveller, would you know (or another Australian traveller LOL) if P&O Australia cruises count towards this benefit?
