Rare spinnaker2 Posted December 1, 2020 #7652 Share Posted December 1, 2020 Yesterday a front raced over the peninsula and right behind it were cooler temps. We were in the humid 80s F at this time on the last day of November. Now it is about 50 F, sunny with clear blue skies. Time to turn off the AC and open the windows and glass sliders and breathe cool air!!!

A foot of snow is considered extreme weather and causes the editors of tabloid newspapers to have wet dreams 2

lincslady Posted December 1, 2020 #7656 Share Posted December 1, 2020 Good luck, Lois. I would certainly prefer to have an endoscopy under a short bout of anaesthetic than not, having tried the other! And just a short bout will not leave you feeling too 'fuzzy'. Rare mysty Posted December 1, 2020 #7658 Share Posted December 1, 2020 My bit of joy today was finding a small poinsettia plant for Christmas decoration in our apartment. When I packed up our house last year I knew that my eons of collecting Christmas decorations could not make the move with us. I gave my cherished decorations to my daughter. Her taste and mine do not exactly align so they may never see the light of day. However, I will add small bits of yule to brighten the grim. 3

Rare FlyingScotSailors Posted December 2, 2020 #7660 Share Posted December 2, 2020 Mysty, I like your granite countertop. It is similar to ours, and is a real Northern 1.25 inch thick, not a Floridian 1/2 inch with a doubled edge.

Rare TLCOhio Posted December 2, 2020 #7663 Share Posted December 2, 2020 The snow is still on the ground here in Central Ohio. BUT, fortunately, we have wonderful sunshine, making it an exceptionallyl early December day in the winter-like Midwest. THANKS! Enjoy! zqtchas Posted December 2, 2020 #7664 Share Posted December 2, 2020 A Good Explanation Of Politics A Russian Jew, was finally allowed to emigrate to Israel. At Moscow airport, customs found a Lenin statue in his baggage and asked, "What is this?" The man replied, "What is this? Wrong question comrade. You should have asked : Who is he? This is Comrade Lenin. He laid the foundations of socialism and created the future and prosperity of the Russian people. I am taking it with me as a memory of our dear hero."The Russian customs officer let him go without further inspection. At Tel Aviv airport, the Israeli customs officer also asked our friend, "What is this?"He replied, "What is this? Wrong question, Sir. You should be asking, 'Who is this?' This is Lenin, the bastard who caused me, a Jew, to leave Russia. I take this statue with me so I can curse him every day."The Israeli customs officer said, "I apologize, Sir, you are cleared to go"Settling into his new house, he put the statue on a table. To celebrate his immigration, he invited his friends and relatives to dinner. One of his friends asked, "Who is this?"He replied, "My dear friend, 'Who is this' is a wrong question. You should have asked, What is this? This is ten kilograms of solid gold that I managed to bring with me without paying any customs duty and tax."MORAL Politics is when you can tell the same crap in different ways to fool a different audience, to allow you to look good in every way. 4

Rare Lois R Posted December 3, 2020 #7670 Share Posted December 3, 2020 Good morning, well, had my endoscopy and the Dr said I still have a small ulcer (not a bleeding one thank goodness)...it is the same one as before and it is healing. He is having me double my prescription and I go see him again 3 weeks. I have been taking 1 pill a day so now I take it twice daily. Thankfully, it is nothing worse and I still feel fine....so that is a good thing.
lincslady Posted December 3, 2020 #7671 Share Posted December 3, 2020 Good news, Lois. Pleased to read you have some improvement. Super pics. recently - love the Father Christmas with the right attitude to 2020; Chas's beautiful magic tree, and mysty's - reminds me of two sayings here in the UK - 'Queen Anne front, Mary Anne back', and, of a slim woman with long hair of a certain age, ' 16/66' , i.e. as her look changes from the back to the front when you walk by.

Rare jpalbny Posted December 3, 2020 #7673 Share Posted December 3, 2020 Good news Lois, keep at it and it should be healed soon. I'm suffering through a few days of Augmentin this week because I'm a dummy. Our cat was getting ready to barf on the rug so I stupidly grabbed her and moved her to the hardwood floor. Easier to clean...except she chomped on my hand when I grabbed her! So I had a good cellulitis setting in by that evening. Cat teeth are disgusting and she got me deep enough to inject a good bunch of bugs right in the web between the knuckles of my index and middle fingers. I was impressed! Good thing I had some old antibiotics lying around. Expiration dates are just a suggestion... Pretty much back to normal today so I'll stop taking them after tonight, I think.
