OMG.........I want some PLEASE😀.  I thought I had heard of many types of ethnic

desserts but never heard of cuccidati.....so I googled it!  I did know it was Italian but

didn't know exactly what........comes up under cookies. Like I said, I want some😀

And it even says it is specific to Sicily and is a traditional Christmas fig cookie!

I have been working on making these wreaths for gifts.  Here is a photo taken by DD of her door.

I used so many corks that I can no longer build an ark. Perhaps just a raft.

Wow that's awesome  I've so many ( not proud ) but how you have made a fantastic item I don't feel so bad!!!

JP, have you been getting recipes from that other cruise line?  The Seabourn blog has a recipe for orecchiette pasta with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, cherry tomatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano.  They made it look like yours. 😀

Forgot to answer your question sooner. Actually I made this up from a combination of two other recipes that I had.

And I almost threw a handful of tomatoes in but decided not to. Was keeping it simple. But that recipe is a good reference for future use, thanks!

Broccoli rabe is bitter and has to be tempered with something rich for best results. I've used anchovy paste, but prefer sausage.

Off to the treadmill to make a down payment on a few of the calories from tonight's dinner. Then it will be time to get cooking!

Looks good DW! That place setting looks fancy. And I like the bubbles!

Lots of cooking here. Dough for pierogi, resting before I roll them out this evening.

And I have this goose ready for tomorrow! The skin is getting dry so it should crisp up nicely.

Might need another trip to the treadmill before dinner...  🐷

Merry Christmas to all of you here at the cooler.  Thank you for your help getting through this challenging year.

A year ago (+ a couple of weeks) there I was, my ship behind me, making friends, no masks.

My wish for all of us is to be able to return to the sea, at least by this time in 2021.

Great-looking table above, nice food from J.P., etc., etc.  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!  The snow has started for us in Central Ohio.

Below is more below for the eastern part of the U.S. and Canada.  Not a bland or boring weather forecast for many on Christmas Day.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

From AccuWeather at 6 pm Thursday/Christmas Eve, first is our cold weather and snow current condition for Central Ohio.  It will be a White Christmas here!!!  Second is the weather radar for the stormy, eastern  parts of the U.S. and Canada.:

We are getting, as forecast, rain here.  The temperature is 49 F, a heat wave for us.

I copied your map, since although it does not show Albany, NY, it does show Chibougamau, PQ.  I had a summer job at a copper mine there in 1969.  Apparently, they have a paved road all the way there now!

Stuffed to the gills now. Ate lots of pierogi, and then we made extra (bonus) ones with blueberries! So good.

Here are the mushroom ones, waiting to be cooked. They went into the borsch.

And some leftover potato-cheese pierogi.

Cooking them now, and they will go somewhere in the fridge for later.

I thought this was a great meme for the year soon to be over. From one of our favorite French wineries.

Translation - Certain wines improve with age (literally "with the years") but this time, it's the year that will only improve with wine!

I'll drink to that! Cheers all.

Haha, one of my most memorable Sunday lunches ever involved a great deal of pierogi. My ex was Ukranian and when his family came over we had a traditional Ukranian lunch. I do remember it involved repeatedly eating a Pierogi, then a large spoon of some very nice caviar followed by a shot of vodka (ringpull type straight from the freezer). I've never been a daytime drinker 🙂 I Still think to this day it was a wind up.
