No, they have a list of Classic type drinks.

I should have said that on the last cruise that I attended one in the Sky Lounge, there was a menu of Classic type drinks. With the coupons, I think they can do more, though still Classic level (I don't remember our friends with coupons using a menu).

So, not having experienced a Captain's Club cocktail party:  what drinks do they serve?  Anything that you couldn't get with a Premium Beverage package?

It is very much limited in drinks compared to even a Classic Beverage Package.  Also a very limited selection of hors d'oeuvres.  If you have sailed on RCCL the nightly Diamond event is much better IMO.  So in general we don't bother with the Elite cocktail hour if we have a drink package of any type.

The Royal Diamond cocktail hour on Oasis was a full hot and cold buffet...flowing drinks..awesome party.

Celebrity nothing like it but still nice to stop in to say hi to folks...Hope the new format of a roving location is better!

I always loved the Captain Club cocktail hour on the S-Class ships. But I also thought that it was extremely unfair to all the other passengers that a small group of so called "Elite-members" occupied the Sky Observation Lounge at one of the best times of the day. Yes, it is a perfect place for socialising. But for me it was never a problem meet wonderful people at other places of the ship like bars and restaurants or on excursions. Three "free" drinks are great and for some people too much (it was definitely too much for the "lady" who ruined my jacket on my last cruise in April) . And that you know can have your drinks also in a restaurant is fantastic.

Are the three drinks loaded on your sea card limited in use to only between 5-7pm or can be used anytime that day, etc?

Only during the two hour designated cocktail hour. Note also that the assortment of beverages is very very limited. Last week on the Edge without much thought I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio. The bartender began to ring up a charge. I apologized and said I forgot it is not on the allowed Elite drink list. She gave it to me at no charge with a smile but warned me in a friendly way to stick to the list next time.

The CC HH drinks loaded on your Sea Pass card are unlimited. You can order the CC HH drinks at any bar/lounge during the CC HH only from 5-7 PM. Excluded are the dining venues, WCB, room service or from the mini bar in your stateroom. No CC HH drinks loaded on your Sea Pass card for the first evening.

Did they ever decide on the  Elite 'lounge' location on Edge - assuming Apex will be the same?

On the Edge now, and the Club is the designated Elite Lounge.  As many drinks as you want between 5 and 7.  Plenty of servers and waiters bringing around the snacks.

Similar to the Sky Lounge, without the view.:classic_biggrin:

Enjoy!

I was recently on Edge for a B2B.   The TA portion had over 2,100 Elite and above.   The protocol on our sailing was that your Sea Pass allowed you to get unlimited drinks between 5-7 at almost any bar (excludes martini bar and possibly others).

In addition to the pre-loaded drinks they had  receptions at both Eden an The Club.   When we walked by Eden was packed.   Withe so many guests it didn't appear there was any screening of membership level.  I just walked and and around the room and was never asked for my card.

I wish they would move it from the Club to Eden.  IMO, The Club is not anything like the Sky Lounge, with or without the view.  I found The Club to be dark and dreary and the seating horrible.  I didn't care for the chaise lounge type couches.  Maybe they replaced them since the first few cruises.  I would hope so, because there really wasn't adequate seating for all that was in the room when I was there last year.

Kind of hard to control the flow of passengers in and out of Eden, but the Club is easy to monitor.  Club is similar to the Oasis class ships Diamond lounges, but larger.

True about the Club being easier to monitor. But on Allure(the only Oasis class I've been on) , the Diamond Lounge had windows and a view. Totally different feel to the room than the Club IMO.
