Interesting.......I was told the opposite on Saturday. 🙃

Everybody may get a Medallion but 90% of the cabins are not completed. Lido deck is it for now.

Long way to go by Dec 16. I hope they can pull it off

I didn't ask what people could actually do with medallions. Just when they would be given to everyone on board.

My guess is you still won't be able to get your G&T delivered to your poolside lounge as the early promos boasted. They'll probably just open your cabin door and help you lose money in the casino more efficiently.

My trip is Febr. 3rd.  Although from what I read there is nothing that it is suppose to be able to do that interests me, it still will be fun to see/use on the cruise.

thanks for posting this.

I don't think I've read this before, so I'll presume it's news. I asked a guy at the Medallion desk a couple days ago when would be the first Regal cruise when everyone gets a Medallion. He said Dec. 16.

Oh my. We will board on Dec 2, and depart on the 16th!. We were on CB one week in August, and they went live one week after we departed. Maybe someday.

Are all the cabins on lido medallion now? I thought there was still only a handful of them that were operational?

Something is happening. I was finally able to sign in to the ocean compass site and complete everything but the medical questions. Previously it would just error after logging in.

Are you on Ocean Ready?

In the past, it was only available closer to boarding and for those who had the medallion. I can see they no longer have the medical questions on there which makes sense since they are no longer collecting it at the pier either.

There is now an Open & Save medallion access pass that was not on there last December.

It is hard to comprehend all the excitement :).  But it is nice to know that Princess will be able to track how much time you spend in your cabin and even your cabin bathroom :).  Now, if they would only lower the price of their Duty Free booze below the inflated prices we pay in Pennsylvania!  We also wonder if the recent wine price increases is to help defray all the expenses involved in installing the OM.  Personally, I would be happy if they trashed the Medallion's and put the wine prices back to what they were a month ago...and reinstated the silver and gold wine packages.  Given a choice between having to use my cruise card to open the cabin door, and lower wine prices....we would choose the lower wine prices :).

Oh and then there are the new optional add-on entrees in the MDR.  Just think of it, you can now spend an additional $19.95 in the MDR for a decent steak...and if you have the Medallion your waiter can do this without even seeing your cruise card.   This is certainly progress?

I had a pretty darn good New York strip in the DR on Saturday nigh (the last night). Didn't pay anything extra.

As I have stated before the upcharge for the additional steaks/lobster etc are not new. Been around for a couple of years.

Some posted that they were available and in the DR menus on the Regal earlier this year as well.

It was hit or miss whether the little paper with the prices were even in the menu each night. For me I only saw them twice.

On our recent 10 day cruise (NYC to Ft Lauderdale) we did not see any add-on items until the third night of the cruise (formal night).  Then that little paper list suddenly appeared in the nightly menu and kept appearing for the remainder of the cruise.  The list included many of the entrees from the Crown Grill menu, but mostly at $19.95 or at a $10 discount from the Crown Grill.  However, in the Crown Grill not only would you get those entrees but would also get the other CG courses, upgraded service, and of course the wonderful CG salt collection (pardon me if I choke)!  We never saw anyone at our tables or in the immediate area who purchased those add-on's.  We also quizzed our waiters (we were Anytime dining) if any of their customers go the upgrades....and always received a "no."  I suppose they do sell some of the upgrades, but its not a a big thing.....yet.  On our cruise the Crown Grill seemed to be doing a pretty brisk business so folks seemed to be fine paying that $29 price.  But getting folks to pay an additional $20 in the MDR for one course does not seem to have captured the imagination of passengers.  We do worry that Princess will go the way of many resorts that have all kinds of additional charges on their regular menus.  And, as somebody mentioned elsewhere in a post, how long until Princess starts charging an extra $25 per day "resort fee" which covers the use of the elevators, steps, room safe,  and corridors.  Consider that Princess now blasts all kinds of noise (day and night) over their huge MUTS speakers and then charges folks a big daily fee if they want to escape the noise in the Sanctuary.  One fellow cruiser mentioned that the smaller the crowd in the Sanctuary, the louder they crank up the MUTS volume.  Wonder how many cruisers go running and screaming to the Sanctuary.....which is actually just a "Sanctuary" from the noise created by Princess.  Almost sounds self-serving.

Looks like there was an update to the ocean site. Yesterday the site still had the health questions. And would not let me complete. Tonight they are gone and the Ocean Ready terminology is there. Along with the option to upload my passport 😎

Ok, I've had the ocean ready site since my ocean medallion sailing in 12/17 and had dumped the compass one.
