Tom47 Posted March 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2019 I received an email from Azamara today Some changes: • No matter whether you're taking in the views from your suite's balcony or indulging in a decadent meal from our dining venues, we want you to be as comfortable as possible. That's why we've added new furniture to our Specialty Restaurants, as well as to the Club World Owner's and Club Ocean suite balconies. • To cap off the Quest's ship-wide enhancements, we've also renovated the standard stateroom shower walls and added new carpets in all corridors. . • Our guest-favorite lounge from the Pursuit℠ is making its way to the Quest! "The Den" will replace the Casino area on Deck 5, featuring live music in the evenings and drinks from the neighboring full bar, Spirits. This will also be the new home to the Shore Excursions and Cruise Again desks. Bonnie, can you tell me if this means a bigger shower? Thanks
upwarduk Posted March 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) I also wondered if the showers would be bigger and therefore possibly cubicles with doors rather than the shower curtain. Edited March 5, 2019 by upwarduk
Mackdogmolly Posted March 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) It’s only a week in dry dock I think. That would be a tall order! But what could they be doing to the walls? Edited March 5, 2019 by Mackdogmolly Expand

But what could they be doing to the walls? They're replacing the wall coverings that have had a tendency to peel. Don't know what the new covering is but I believe they have it on Pursuit. Given the size of bathrooms in the non-suite staterooms there is no way the shower size could be increased.

We’re replacing the current shower wall coverings to match the shower panels that were recently installed on Azamara Pursuit.

combine Posted March 6, 2019 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) Phil Just checked deck plans for Quest on Azamara web site and they are now showing those extra 6 cabins on Deck 4 for 2020/21 although also for 2019? Is this recent information? When is this work due to be carried out? Journey remains the same at the moment.. That would be consistent with the Pursuit configuration. Also, the deck 4 future cruise sales area on the other 2 ships is now offices for the HD and FB officers and a hallway on Pursuit. Since future sales will relocate to the new Den on Quest, ala' Pursuit, I would not be surprised to see that area redeployed as well.

Makes sense as it is a great way for them to improve revenue. Just wonder if a week will be long enough to achieve it. The furniture in those cabins would have to be brand new. They canibalised furniture that was in the deck 8 cabins on Pursuit. Phil

Rare uktog Posted March 6, 2019 #17 Share Posted March 6, 2019 I have resent an email to the address Bonnie posted in response to my posts. Not made any difference yet, it’s the second time I’ve done it, Nicole put it right many times, Sandra tried in August, Patty in November so I doubt it’s a simple fix. However currently Celebrity email me offers almost daily - this started suddenly about a month ago absolutely no idea what’s triggered this
Rare uktog Posted March 6, 2019 #18 Share Posted March 6, 2019 Are they retaining the Sunset Bar on Quest (personally I hope so).....I am hoping that is one area where Pursuit will differ from the other two ships

That would be such a helpful move for returning travellers who are missing out on information. Of course, once we all start getting the info you can then drop that help. Redtravel Posted March 6, 2019 #23 Share Posted March 6, 2019 I never get emails from Azamara. I also seldom get any communication with them. I got a package from Az on a Monday. Thought that it might be stuff for my upcoming cruise. No! It was a brochure for 2020 cruises. The brochure is excellent detailing 2020 cruises. No prices listed. It may be a way to seek interest in future bookings. On the other hand, I get lots of other cruise lines emails and hard copy brochures. Oceania sends ads several times each week. They do spike interest and have enticed us to book.

Makes for a nicer ambiance in that very popular area.
Rare uktog Posted March 6, 2019 #25 Share Posted March 6, 2019 I much prefer having the Sunset Verandah Bar as on Journey and Quest. Not only in terms of having another venue but also it seems logistically drinks service at lunchtime and evening buffets runs much smoother.
