Well there was a royal caribbean cruise with a few young adults and one of them jumped off the ship in port at nassau. His reason was; he was still drunk from the night  before and his friends dared him to jumpbecasue they wanted to post it on social media. Needless to say it made the news and he and his friends are barred from sailing Royal Caribbean

Yes, I did once, during my spring break in graduate school.  It was about 10 years ago, a week-long Mexican Riviera itinerary on the Dawn out of San Diego.  I loved the entire cruise, but there were definitely a few large groups of college students -- one particular group was from Arizona State.  Connoisseurs of party schools know I need not say more.  It didn't impact my cruise negatively at all.  They were a happy bunch, having a good time.  Better than screaming tots any day. 


That said, small children are a fact of life on Princess at holiday time.  The lack of them on this one cruise I took was somewhat of a surprise, but if I were you and trying to avoid small children, I would not book during spring break.

I can only say that our Thanksgiving week cruise to Cabo had over 700 kids on it. So, there goes the pool area being taken over by kids.. not so much "party kids" lol 

We are going on a spring break cruise next year with our kids, but we hope the 7 night is not as rowdy as a 4 nighter through a different line (only because princess cannot accommodate our family of 5 without having 2 different rooms). On the other line, I spoke with a representative and they agreed that the longer the cruise, less likely it being a "party cruise".

I will add... we are going to Alaska (minus the kids this time lol) and we booked it for the first boat after OUR kids get out of school, but most of the schools do not get out until after the May holiday. So, by the time that date comes around, we are already at sea. 😉 I know others that had planned their cruises for school out time, about the beginning few weeks of June. Hoping for a less kid take over for May 26th 😉

Spring break for college are usually in March,  for other schools mid March to mid April. 

 

 

Wife is a retired teacher, been on many spring break cruises.  Will be lots of kids, but we go to the adult only pool area, so no issue for us.  Boarding another later today.

Spring breakers book shorter cruises -- seldom if ever longer than a week.

we took a spring break cruise - 3 days, Friday thru Monday out of Port Canaveral on RCI - easily 75% college aged

 

as well behaved as any other cruise - now lots of drinking going on, of course - lots of 'talent' around the pool areas:classic_cool:

and only saw one guy get semi-out-of-hand in the casino - which was quickly addressed ...

 

we were easily in the top 5% age demo

 

very enjoyable quick getaway ...

Last year we booked a five day Princess cruise out of Ft Lauderdale to Dominican Republic, Grand Turk and back.  We didn't realize it was the spring break time until just about a week before the cruise.  We were nervous about disorderly college kids but we didn't see a single college aged kid on the ship.  Princess doesn't have a reputation for being 'party boats.'  Where we did run into masses of spring breakers was on Grand Turk.  Margaritaville was overrun and they had a DJ running drinking games etc.  We just returned to the quiet enjoyment of our balcony.  I think most of the kids came off Carnival Conquest which was also in port that day.  Although I wouldn't actively search for one, I'd go on another Princess cruise during spring break.
