...It's even that way with Sip & Sail right now. There is a nonrefundable deposit option and a refundable deposit option. The nonrefundable deposit cabins are cheaper.

I saw a pasted image here on CC that there were in fact FOUR fares available during SnS -- refundable with or w/o the Beverage Package, nonrefundable with or w/o BP.

This is where a PVP comes in handy.

Yep. I didn't mention the other two. The Landmark sale also has four fare categories/offers as well.

In advance of the landmark sale beginning tomorrow I just checked my Sky cruise for Nov... Prices dropped alot! I'm still better off as I am, but people may want to check their cruise fares today before the  inevitable price hike to cover the "free" OBC when Landmark goes into effect.

I checked today against yesterday prices and it is down $200.00 BUT the S&S is not included.  Not a huge savings to go with discounted cruise fare when it's only $100.pp as opposed to having the Bev Package.....IMO

Our minisuites in June 2020 (2-wk AK cruise) are down $130pp, making them the same as the promo-less fares of 6/11/19 -- right before SnS started. As getaway said, not work giving up BP for us and not worth giving up the May Sale for my sis/BIL.

Still waiting on the actual Landmark sale!

Just checked our upcoming cruise and it went down $100. pp, but it doesn't include the 3 for free promo, so no price drop request from us.

Yesterday I checked my March 2021 Enchanted  cruise, it was up $70/pp.  I checked this morning before the new sale, it is now up $205/pp.

I wonder what it will be when the sale is launched?

Checked the sale and the prices for our cruise on the Sky in 2020 are the same. We currently have S&S and aren't willing to drop it for a $1050 OBC. My in laws are also on our trip and my husband is going to ask them tonight if they would rather the $1000 OBC because my MIL isn't a big drinker.

2019 LANDMARK SALE Non-Refundable Deposit

By booking this promotion guests will receive the following:

* FREE ONBOARD SPENDING MONEY, Up to $1000 per stateroom (based on duration) for guests 1 & 2 only.
* REDUCED DEPOSIT of 10% non refundable per guest.
:

Please be advised this selected special promotion is not combinable with other promotions.
The Onboard Spending Money is not refundable and not transferable.
See the Booking Confirmation and Travel Summary for complete Terms & Conditions of this promotion.
**** Please contact your preferred Travel Advisor, Cruise Vacation Planner,or call 1-800-PRINCESS for more fare options.

Here is what appears when you do a mock booking. Apparently deposit is still nonrefundable. But I am intrigued by the last sentence, that there are "more fare options" if you call in. Is this a new thing? I have to call in and ask if there are refundable fares available for this promo? I don't like this idea at all. I want to see what the promo is on the website, not an option of it.

Checked this morning and our cruise is the same price as when we booked the Sip and Sail.  Since we're really not drinkers, I put a value of $350 on our Sip and Sail promo (2 soda packages, 2 water packages, and 1 coffee package).  So for us I was looking at a savings.  Well I called our TA, who called Princess, who noticed I had a Casino offer under my name.  The Princess rep said the Casino offer wasn't combinable with the Sip and Sail but it is with the Landmark sale.  That lowered our fare almost $1000 AND we get the $1050 OBC.  I'm looking at almost a $1600 savings today.  I'm thrilled!  I hope someone else has some luck today!

For our Europe cruise next year the non-refundable and refundable deposit fares were the same.  Our TA was a little confused, but the Princess rep confirmed this.  So I think you have to call someone to get the refundable deposit fare.  But we rebooked this morning and our deposit is still refundable.

None of my future cruises in 2020 (Panama Canal and Europe) are showing up for the Landmark sale.  But then, my

category stateroom is sold out so wouldn't do me any good anyway!  But I would have asked if the sale had shown up

for my itineraries.  Maybe next time!

I don't know why they are doing this now. If the fares are the same for refundable or nonrefundable, why would anyone do a nonrefundable deposit?

someone above posted the 'deposits' are the same ... that's not the cruise fare(s) themselves

Interesting. I wonder how much lower the no-OBC fares are compared to the Landmark fares. I do not consider a dollar of OBC to be worth one dollar for two reasons: 1) having it as OBC may force on-board spending that I wouldn't make if I didn't have OBC and 2) the higher fare to get the OBC means more is at risk should you need to cancel after final payment (ignoring any insurance considerations). In other words, if a cruise I'm looking at (assume it qualifies for $500 OBC) and the Landmark fare is $X and the non-Landmark fare (assume same deposit refund status) $X-$500, I'd go with the non-Landmark fare (the higher refundable deposit makes very little difference to the analysis for me).

It looks like the refundable fare option has a fare $50 higher than the non refundable fares you see on the screen.

But how much different are the no-OBC fares from the Landmark fares which include OBC? That's what I'm most interested in knowing. And for that comparison, also need to know the amount of OBC that would be included under Landmark.

Based on a BA balcony on the Caribbean Princess Nov 8 next year (where you'd get $250 OBC) the price difference is $260.

I am with you on 3FF....I

am booked for Nov 2020 under Sip n Sail but really want 3FF.  Hoping pricing remains steady. My price is up $80 for Landmark sale but although OBC makes it cheaper not willing to book nonrefundable that far out.
