Mr Grumpy Posted July 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2019 I'm suspicious about a recent email I received purportedly from Princess. My last Princess cruise was over six months ago, the next one is in four months so I was surprised to get this email now which appears to be some sort of survey. The subject line is "Please Share Your Thoughts About Cruise Itinerary & Entertainment Preferences". The body of the email has links upon which to click to participate in the survey. The last sentence, which I find very strange, is "Please note, we kindly ask that you keep the contents of this survey confidential". The second link refers to qualtrics.com which is a legitimate "customer experience" company and the Princess marketing research link appears legitimate as well, but the bit about keeping the contents confidential is just plain weird. Has anyone else received this email?
ggprincess2004 Posted July 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Looks legit, Princess sends these surveys from time to time and this looks precisely like the rest of them, with, of course, the subject matter of the survey.
suekel Posted July 29, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2019 I get random surveys from them occasionally. I think they are just looking at overall experience not your most recent cruise.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2019 We've received similar email surveys, they are legit, never had a problem responding to them. If you want Princess to know what works or does not work, they need to hear it from us passengers...
flutprop Posted July 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2019 I received this exact email a few months ago and also questioned it. I went ahead and did the survery, which was about Medallion. It is legit
pompeii Posted July 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2019 My husband and I get these frequently about different things, like ship names, excursions, elite benefits...they're legit.

snowskier Posted July 29, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Interesting thread -- there is no way I would consider it "legit" based on the responses here. Just because others received it and some filled it out does not mean it is legit. I love the one "it looks legit" -- duh all scams "look legit". I received it as well and didn't touch it -- I have no way of knowing if it is legit or not. Providing Princess with my opinion is not important enough to risk clicking on something that I can't verify came from a trusted source. I have no desire to spend time calling Princess to find out if they really sent it.
Rare Jeter02 Posted July 29, 2019 #10 Share Posted July 29, 2019 I get thecenails a dozen times, but the link never works as it says I've already completed the survey.
Sea Hag Posted July 29, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Since it goes to Qualtronics, I think it's the real deal.
Rare azbirdmom Posted July 29, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) It's legit but you're not supposed to share as these things are supposed to be confidential. They come from a Private Princess Group that you must have joined at some point and it is run by Marketing from Princess. What I did when i got my first reach out from them was to call the Princess number and they validated that it was legitimate. Exactly. It drives me nuts...I have been getting one every few days and EVERY time it comes back with: You have either already completed the survey or your session has expired. Even though I click it the day it comes and I haven't done a survey in a very long time....and no I never joined any 'Secret Princess' groups so not sure what the big deal about it being confidential is....especially since it appears to be a broken link! I guess I better click Unsubscrbe.....

Qualtronics does the cruise surveys and if you filled out one of those you have a cookie which will remain there until you remove. After cleaning out your cache you might want to go into your browser settings and change them so that cookies are deleted when you close the browser. Once you do that you shouldn’t get the message that you’ve already taken the survey. Or you can use a different browser.
Hulagirl Posted July 30, 2019 #16 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Totally legit!!! Have been getting these survey's from Princess for a few years now. By posting the total e-mail you have negated the statement of keeping it private.
crystalspin Posted July 30, 2019 #17 Share Posted July 30, 2019 I think the confidentiality would be for the survey itself, not the opening letter.

casofilia Posted July 30, 2019 #21 Share Posted July 30, 2019 I never get them!! I wonder if it because I send them emails suggesting ways they could improve their website!!! The main one is for them to employ proof readers!!! Perhaps they are scared that I might proof read their surveys rather than answer them!!! MrPantsOz Posted July 31, 2019 #23 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Totally legit. Fill one in and you become part of the community where you will partake in further surveys that you can't share the details of.
Griller Posted July 31, 2019 #24 Share Posted July 31, 2019 I had to do a dummy booking a while ago to find out the airfare ( don't have to do that any more) and used a spoof name but my email address - I received a survey about Mediterranean imaging request yesterday for this spoof name, a person who has never cruised on Princess, while I with nearly 80 on Princess have never received one. Maybe it was because I used a spoof name connected with the British royal family ?
CruisinChris Posted July 31, 2019 #25 Share Posted July 31, 2019 I work in marketing research. Qualtrics is a legit company. It is very common to ask respondents to keep the contents of a survey or discussion group confidential, especially when discussing ideas for new products or services.
