Elite in a full suite

Hello! Are there any elite level cruisers who have also booked a full suite? I’m wondering if Princess just combine your various perks or if you can request the benefits of both a suite booking as well as the benefits of being Elite?  Eg, do you get 2 mini bar set ups, etc. Any experiences appreciated. Thanks so much 😊

The suite perks are pretty minimal,

additional mini-bar set-up

full mdr menu offered for room service

specialty dining room breakfast

cc dining

yep, minimal for all top tier loyalty members sailing in a suite ...:classic_dry: ...:classic_rolleyes:

Not that I see me ever booking a suite, but the dining perks are very nice.

our one and only was the result of an upsell on a 4 day cruise .... some of the best money we ever spent cruising as it may have been the only time that we could experience that level ...

The breakfast in Sabatini's (or other venue) really is very nice. Calm, peaceful, excellent service.  Here's the presentation of my wife's poached eggs. Grandson enjoyed it too!!IMG_0357.thumb.JPG.57af2f94eb60363a69052a19483aae3b.JPG

The bar set-up. 4 off each - Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, Cognac.

I just got off the Caribbean princess last week from a full suite. Comparing it to other cruise lines I find it minimal. On NCL you get full access to a concierge. On embarkation and debarkation the concierge escorts the suites on and off. On RCL there is also a concierge and a concierge lounge available all day and with complimentary alcoholic beverages during happy hour. RCL has reserved seating for shows including the ice show. RCL diamond plus and Pinnacle tier get a gift to choose from which includes a bottle of wine, lovely heavy canvas tote bag, a large beach towel and I forget all the other goodies I've accumulated. IMHO Princess lacks comparatively but I sail with Princess more because I like the overall experience and leaving out of Los Angeles ( I don't have to fly as much) but acknowledge they need to step up their suite experience. They recently discontinued giving suites a nice canvas tote bag (not the thin blue thing). They discontinued the personalized station with the suite and your name on it. The stopped putting postcards in the back of the information notebook. None of these are deal breakers but I've been watching the suite perks evaporate on Princess.

You do get 2 min-bar setups. If there are not two there, call room service to get the second one.

This probably won't work for 2 elites in one nonsuite room? If I'm traveling with my extended family, but 2 elites stay in one room, is it possible to get the 2 minibars belongs to each elite?

I don't get the logic of "one minibar per room". Shouldn't it be "one minibar per elite".

I also think each elite member should receive a bar set up since each one traveled enough to reach that level.  Another thing that bugs me is when you do the Chef's table,  a married couple gets one cookbook but if a couple have different last names or if two men or woman share a cabin, they each get a cookbook.   I really don't want two - we have enough from all the times we have gone but it is not fair!!!

Perhaps they assume, or check the Personalizer, that those folks you mentioned live at two different addresses and happen to be sailing together, so they each get one for their own residence?  If that is not the case, it does seem odd what they do.  Must be lots of Princess Cookbooks on eBay (I have not looked)????

One of the couples did live at the same address.   Who knows!     All I know is that the people I have given my cookbooks to, loved them.  Not sure if they ever used any of the recipes - I never have.

On some of our cruises that our son joins us, I booked the inside next to our suite and our son and my husband booked the suite.  It was sweet because they received two drink packages and I received one.  And we each received the stock OBC and AMEX obc.    Our son was in our cabin most of the time but slept and showered in his.

Although elites get free laundry, suite passengers have "free" same day laundry. If you give the steward your laundry by 9:00 AM, you will get it back that evening. If there are lots of elites on board, the laundry can take several days to be returned.

And make sure your steward sees the laundry because if it sits in the hall until he finds it at 10, you won't get it back the same day.  Our guy took a break or was down folding towels around 8:45 so I learned to put it out much earlier.

I forgot to mention that on NCL we had a butler. I didn't care for having him but people with kids seem to like it. Princess could add something really special like that.

Be careful what you wish for with the bar set for 2 elites in a non suite cabin, they'll cut it to 10 beverages and give both people a mini bar and come out the same.

Well, Princess cutting it in half then providing one set up per elite would surely cause a ruckus.  But carping about the current perk is not helpful to anyone, and I doubt it envourages Princess to provide more of anything for free

and you can also add the Concierge room and person on the Royal class of ships. Only for full suite passengers.

We loved the Concierge lounge on the Majestic Princess - it was usually empty and the coffee was the best on the ship. Shame there isn’t one on the Diamond,  which is what I cruise on next.

One minibar per cabin for elite status no matter now many elites are in it.

One way of looking at it is that there are two of everything. And if there is only one elite in the cabin, you still get two of everything.

I enjoyed getting a minibar for each leg of my Alaskan cruises on the Island when I sailed solo. It does seem unfair that we get the same when we travel together--and even less fair for two of us on our current 16-day cruise. But so far, we have only touched the sodas and water. We may end up trading some of the liquor for more soda. I wonder what the longest possible cruise is on Princess that can't be booked as separate legs.

When we were in a suite, I called for the second minibar exchanged for coffee cards (now coffee packages).
