suzyluvs2cruise Posted October 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) We're just off the Sept 30 sailing. Here are some pics of the glass panels around the Roof Top Garden that have been put in to help with the wind. When we were up there it wasn't too windy so I'm not sure how they help when it is windy. Edited October 13, 2019 by suzyluvs2cruise
Mauidiver Posted October 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Looks like they’re working all of the bugs out of Edge so hopefully they’ll get it right on Apex and after.
jelayne Posted October 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Hope they solved the problem of food blowing off the plate at the RT Grill.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Thanks for posting. Will be interesting to see how they work. We board next Monday so excited to keep hearing of the changes.
TeeRick Posted October 13, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2019 That should help a lot and they look nice too. But this was one of those things that should have been easily anticipated at the design stage. Just like the wind on the Magic Carpet too. Common sense is lacking sometimes,

There were several things that should have been anticipated in design and weren't. Like the chairs in Eden and on the Magic Carpet. They're so low and hard to get in/out of. Rare hcat Posted October 13, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Suzy.... Thanks for posting. Hope it is an improvement. We will be back on EDGE Nov 15th...looks like we'll give the RTG a try for lunch.. hope the panels block the wind up there & perhaps they have added some shade too! Caribbean Chris Posted October 13, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Thank you so much for posting! It was quite windy at that venue during our January cruise. I loved the food, and wondered how they could fix that issue. Hope the problem has been solved.

The only shade I saw was over the Rooftop Grill. Enjoy your upcoming cruise! We loved EDGE
Rare NMTraveller Posted October 13, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 13, 2019 That should help. Now I wonder what they are going to do about Magic Carpet. That was the windiest venue on the ship. You don't need a blow dryer, just go out on the Magic Carpet.
vtcruising Posted October 14, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Thanks for the pictures. Not sure I like the look, but if it helps, will be worth it.

Yes I do understand about the chairs and it is a common complaint. But they were an interior design buying choice and perhaps the wrong one according to many here. But the wind on a cruise ship is a given with 100% certainty and it was an engineering design blunder to not anticipate this.
