What are Elite benefits REALLY worth (to me?)

Nope. You're referring to the Elegant Tea event. I'm referring to the Captains Club benefits of free beverages around the ship. You won't find free tea, latte, cappucinno and espresso listed on the Elite page. 😉

Elites get specialty coffee at the breakfast location. Elite Plus we get free latte, cappuccino and espresso around the ship.

The Elegant Tea party  is usually held in the MDR. Elite and above members are invited. Sandwiches, cakes and tea are served there. It's once per cruise. The details will be found in your stateroom as to its time and location when you embark.

I believe only Elite + and above qualify for a limited selection of free teas and coffees. I assume the poster is referring to this.

I agree. Now that I reread your post I can clearly see you were talking two different perks. The complimentary cappuccino, latte, tea and espresso is only an elite + and above perk you would get at other venues including  Cafe' al Bacio.

As Elite (and soon to be Elite+ after our next cruise) we find the free laundry bags and the internet packages the most beneficial.  None of the perks are so great that we'd say that's what keeps us as customers. We book our cruises based on many factors, of which only a small % would be the elite benefits.

As noted earlier, the happy hour benefit is lost on us because we usually get a drink package as a perk when booking.  In these cases, to make the 'elite' status more meaningful I think they should consider offering a separate benefit to those in our situation.  Nothing crazy, but if you are elite and have a beverage package, how about maybe one free dinner in a specialty restaurant?  That probably costs them less than the drinks we'd consume if we participated in the happy hour.

We quit going to the CC breakfast when we became Elite + because the only reason we went was for the Cappuccinos.  Now, we can get them at Al Baccio anytime.  We also like the 240 mins free Internet.  Apart from those two things, I don't think there is too much difference between the two tiers for us.

I never thought I would be posting this because we have been Celebrity diehards for 25 years, but we have just booked with another cruise line because Celebrity has pulled out of the Middle East with deploying Connie to Tampa.

Since we are only slightly more than halfway to zenith, we will never see it, so time to see what other cruise lines offer.

Or waive the new $14.00 PPPD charge for the bundled BP perk. We also always get the bundled BP.

So does that mean I have to pay an additional $14 per day for beverage package?  All new to me as never had any perks before apart from OBC.

Request it at the point of booking. It only applies if there is a suitable room available and there are some restrictions. But if rooms are available you can book an aqua class 1 room for the price of an aqua class 2 room as an example. Or pay for a concierge 3 and get a concierge class 2 room etc. . I hope that makes sense?

I am not familiar - what is this $14 you mention?

Effective 10 October 2019, all passengers who choose the bundled BP perk will be charged $14 PPPD. Celebrity offsetting the cost of the bundled BP perk.  Any cruise you've booked prior to 10 October 2019 will not be charged the $14.00 PPPD for the bundled BP perk.

It is not really a separate charge.  Celebrity has determined that the Classic Drink package is significantly more valuable than the other perks offered in various bundles.  (One perk, two perks, or four perks).  When the Classic drink package is chosen as one of the perks, the base price of the cruise increases by $14 a day per person.  There are several threads discussing this change.

I actually booked end of August an oceanview verandah then with the VETS sale upgraded to a C2 cabin with the 4 perks so not sure which date they'll use.

The good news is that since you have the 4 perks, the increase in cruise price for the Classic Package does not apply to you.  And you get the Premium drink package.

That's good to know. I was planning to spend all my obc at the duty free and have a spa service. Unfortunately they won't let me use it at the casino.

You can use your OBC in the casino. I believe Celebrity started allowing you to use your OBC in the casino in 2015. You'll be charged a 5% transaction fee.

Just got off the Equinox on Nov 15th  Second cruise that we are Elite

We love the CC breakfast    Good starter to the day

Always use the laundry

90 min of internet is all we need  just to check in to airline day before ( we want to be device free)

We are not in Aqua Class so the one day in the Persian Garden is a treat

Elite tea is treat is you have the time

We try to use as many of the Elite perks as we can

More good news for you assuming that you actually wish to gamble with your non refundable OBC.  Yes, you can use it in the Casino without paying a fee.  I have several times.  What do you usually play?
