Same for me

when I first called, the agent originally ‘gifted’ me the coffee and soda package for my daughter because the computer wouldn’t add it on automatically. It was showing in the travel summary and then It disappeared.

So I phoned again - and I was told the same thing you were. The package promo code is there - and wifi shows and the add-on cost is charged - but the coffee and soda package won’t show up until closer to boarding when they ‘audit’ the account. It’s a computer programming issue apparently.

I also asked again about opting out of the promo for the 3rd passenger as we don’t really want it for our daughter and was told everyone still has to purchase it as the promo code applies to the entire booking and they can’t deselect it for 3rd/4th guests.

but the rep said to call back in a week because they are working on an opt out option for additional passengers and minors.
since a week from now is Christmas week, I will wait until the new year and phone again.

we added the beverage and wifi package at $25/day per person to our existing 3 for free booking.
so when asking for the opt out I also said that I hope when the opt out is possible that i will be able to return to the original fare we booked for the 3rd passenger and keep the OBC and paid gratuities.

Had no problem removing them for our grandson yesterday as the 3rd passenger on my son's booking.

They never said anything about all had to purchase the promo.  🤔

Was it a new booking or were they adding to an existing booking?

the rep had me on hold while she spoke with a supervisor and she was very adamant that for the add on of the promotion code to an existing reservation that it applies to the entire booking and at this time you can not opt out for a 3rd person on the booking. They are working on it and hope to be able to offer the opt out in a week once they have the option added to the computer.

Click on the Boarding Pass and Travel Summary link on the Summary page of your cruise in the Personalizer. Then click on Print Travel Summary. Close to the bottom of your travel summary, you'll see a list entitled Special Services for this Booking. All of the perks included with your booking should be listed here.

Hope this helps. I had a hard time finding the complete list myself.

Thanks, this did help as it shows all our perks. We used the Best3 and got the deluxe beverage package, gratuities and wifi for just $560 😁

It was an existing booking. Made a couple of months ago.

In our case, Princess allowed our TA to opt out for the 3rd guest but then told her he would lose his previous perks from the 3-for-Free sale. Colo, which sale had you previously booked under?

Broken record time again...  If you REFARE or REBOOK you lose your perks from any prior promotion.  If you use a coupon code to add upgrades to your existing booking THEN you get to keep your prior perks.  When talking to Princess or your TA don't use the words "refare" or "rebook."

Thanks Daniel--we didnt refare as our cabin was $900 more each so we used the coupon code to upgrade and get the free drinks and gratuaties

. We''re all set---thanks

So, working on adding wifi to a 21 day cruise that that already includes Bev's and grats.  BUT, my M6 cat is sold out, so can't just refare.  And no upgrade code for wifi only. Personalizer shows the normal pre-cruise rates ($700 for 2)

Anyone have an idea for a workaround to reduce cost?

Yes dont refare just use the codes shown on the chart and everything else stays the same. I just did it as my cabin was $900pp more if I refared so better to just do an add on.

Thanks!  Problem is I can't just add-on wifi with any savings under this sale for this cruise (I already have grats and bevs). But will add wifi on first ship day with 25% discount.

OTOH, re-faring a different upcoming cruise originally booked under S&S yielded a big $2000+ savings. So re-fare may actually work for some.

I specifically asked about opting out for the 3rd guest - our daughter - and returning to the previous fare before they added in the cost of the beverage/wifi package and keeping the perks from 3 for free. The only answer I got was to call back in a week when they hope to have the option to opt out available for my booking.

I did mention that I had heard others could already opt out, and that was why I was put on hold while they checked with a supervisor, and the answer back was they are working on it but isn’t possible yet. Which clearly isn’t the case -as has been reported here numerous times with varying stipulations such as the loss of previous perks.

when I call back I will specifically make sure we get the original fare back with the gratuities and OBC remaining in place- if they finally figure out how to let us opt out for the third passenger

Here's some info that might be interesting/helpful to some booking under this sale! I have been looking at a 3 day cruise for summer of next year. It wasn't listed as being part of this sale and for the first 2 or 3 days there was no option to book it under the BSE, either on the Princess site or in Polar. Yesterday I noticed that the sailing was now included - the difference in price for fare only to BSE was around $700 for 3 passengers. I checked it out in Polar and found that I was able to book it under the Getaway promo and include the BEST2DG promo code (no need for wifi as we are all elite). Booking this way resulted in a $310 saving as opposed to booking as BSE.

My advice would be to speak to a TA or Princess rep prior to booking under BSE - ask them to price out the regular fare with the code added in at time of booking. In my case, the savings was substantial....and the booking system DOES allow it.....

when you 'added' the BSE to the 'Getaway' that you had booked separately, did you get the 2nd person's BSE at 50% off since it is added to the fare ?  … like I did

I never even noticed that - just did the math and, yes, the add on for the 2nd passenger was half the amount of that for the first and third! WOW!

Voljeep, interesting.

How did you get the 50% off for second person?  I did not and would like to call in and get changed.  But where does it say that the 2nd person is 50% off?  Thanks for your help and info.

Well I am not a happy camper.  My TA who does a huge volume of bookings for Princess told me that the amenity upsell cannot be added to our two cruises because there aren't cabins available in our booked category.  Although they do not stipulate that this is the case, they are apparently applying rules as if it's a refare situation.  Grrrrr....

Haven’t read past this yet, but can report I added drinks and grats to our sold out m1 booking with no issues this morning.

A question for those who have purchased these add-ons to an existing booking, and also have purchased the Princess Vacation Protection: Did the cost of your insurance go up when you bought the add-ons? On my last cruise, I noticed that the insurance costs exactly 8% of my cruise fare. Since folks in this thread are saying that the cost of the add-ons becomes part of your cruise fare, does that mean your cost for PVP goes up by 8% of the cost of the add-ons?

I was informed this afternoon by a Princess Sales rep that the BEST2xx packages cannot be added to basic fares such as NL1 (Save Fare with no sales promotion).  This made sense to me as I believe they are intended only for promotional fares.  I could have added the full BEST3 for $40/pp/day, but that would have cost much more than the difference between the basic fare and the B.E.S. fare for the same cruise.

Yes, I agree.  When I posted that there was a lot of bad information being given by Princess.  What killed my ability to add the amenity packages on to two prior cruises was that those cruises were booked with a casino discount.  No one has been able to get that to work - at least so far.  You can book a new cruise under BSE and have the discount applied to the entire fare which includes the amenities, but as an add on to a prior cruise it's a no go.
