snclopez Posted December 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2019 Hi all, we will be in Cococay next weekend and have a water park cabana reserved. The weather appears to be about a high of 75 with possible rain. Has anyone gone recently with temps like this and been able to use the water park comfortably? What about the ocean water, were you able to get in and enjoy? We are considering cancelling the cabana since it may be too cold to use the water park. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks! Daisymae14 Posted December 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2019 I am curious as well, we leave Monday and see rain showers for Wednesday. 😞
Rare island lady Posted December 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2019 Currently on Harmony. Was at Coco Cay on Monday. Definitely NOT cold there. Water, air...low to mid 80s. No worries...enjoy your cruise! 🙂
dianajo67 Posted December 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2019 Was there yesterday. Very windy (20+ mph) with occasional rain. Pool water was freezing (like 73 degrees). Ocean temps were much more comfortable but still cool...about 78 degrees. We couldn’t snorkel because of strong currents and wind. They offered a refund. It’s a nice place. Lots of umbrellas that seemed quite secure.
reallyitsmema Posted December 14, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2019 We were at Coco Cay December 5th, temperature was in the 70's. Ocean was cool but we were able to get in. Pool was freezing! We walked one loop around the whole pool just to see what it was like and then got out, it was just too col, even for us northerners. We went back to the beach and it felt like bathwater after that frigid pool! We did not go in the water park but we saw lots of kids in the free water park, most in long sleeve rash guards. itsmeagain Posted December 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2019 We were their last week and it was to cold for us. However we do live in Florida and don’t get in our pool unless the water is above 85 degrees, we are now spoiled. We did see people in the water just not sure where they were from. For the slides, it did not look like it had any lines so if you can take the colder water it might be worth it.
djyellowsub Posted December 14, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2019 We were there last week. The air temperature was 80, so just right for sitting under the umbrella. Chill Beach water was a little cool, but easy to adjust to. The pool was way too cold for us. We got in up to our knees and got right out. The whole island is very nice though. squaremimi Posted December 15, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2019 We were there on Dec 07. Pool water was freezing. Ocean was a bit better. But it's comfortable sitting on the lounger chair to enjoy the sun.

lswilmot Posted December 15, 2019 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2019 Add us to the "too cool for me group". Walked into ocean at Chill Island up to my knees and then right out. Enjoyed the sun and warmth, but didn't use the ocean or pool. We were just there on 12-10-19. Lori
Rare mskaufman Posted December 15, 2019 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2019 We're going to be there next week. Sounds like it will be a lounging, not a swimming day.
dvond Posted December 16, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 16, 2019 Whats your fav spots to go to for the day and how do you get there? Thats a shame about the pool as we go in 2 weeks and that looked very nice

SNJCruisers Posted December 16, 2019 #14 Share Posted December 16, 2019 We will fortunately be there the first week of September. Anyone that booked their cruise this time of year should know that they are rolling the dice when it comes to the weather. So it turns into a lounging with a drink in your hand kind of day. Still better than a day at work.

So, what time of year is weather not a roll of the dice?
Judyrem Posted December 16, 2019 #16 Share Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) A little side note, we stayed in a condo for week in Nassau over Christmas last year and won't do it again because the weather was VERY iffy. This year we are doing a condo in St Thomas for a week over Christmas, better weather farther south IMO. bouhunter Posted December 16, 2019 #17 Share Posted December 16, 2019 It sounds like with all the money they spent there pool heaters should have been installed...……..
Pratique Posted December 16, 2019 #18 Share Posted December 16, 2019 We were just there on Saturday. The weather was picture perfect. The water was fine. It’s not a hot tub.
twins_to_alaska Posted December 16, 2019 #19 Share Posted December 16, 2019 Is that the southern western part - Chill Island - and those are the day beds in the background?
seabeew Posted December 16, 2019 #20 Share Posted December 16, 2019 A couple months ago I asked the Royal Caribbean FB page if the pool was going to be heated and they said yes. Obviously it’s not.
tigers04champs Posted December 16, 2019 #21 Share Posted December 16, 2019 We were just there this past Saturday as well. Weather was perfect with lots of sun. Ocean was a good temp. The pool water was definitely cold. It wasn't so bad once you got in and stayed, but could be very cold for little ones. The pool was definitely not heated. Just a heads up as well the beach between the jet skis and the floating bar is closed. We didn't know that until we got there. We thought it was just South Beach that was closed. Still better than a day at work. IF youre lucky. If youre not, your 7 night cruise turns into a much shortened 3 night cruise and you have to decide at the last minute whether or not to put your life in danger of a potential direct hit from a Cat 4 hurricane in order to go on the 3 night cruise or take the future cruise credit. We took the credit and are going to Alaska next August. Never again, September cruising. August or October for that matter either. I rolled the dice once and crapped out. I wish you all the best though and hope you get your full cruise in! Edited December 16, 2019 by ryano

How close is the floating bar to chill island..an easy walk? Also as Ive not been there since changes, can you just walk or better to take a tram? Thanks!
