Majesty Diamond situation

Once a quarter we get the casino "free" cruise offer and it always includes the Majesty and/or Empress. It might have the Enchantment or Navigator once in a while but never the Oasis / Quantum class. They know the new cruisers are going to the mega's, so you're right, they're filling the older ships with cruisers like me. Old.

Haha, it wasn't meant as "old", just that lots of people, close to ports, with time and money to burn.  Many figure at a certain cost it doesn't even pay to sit home.  Doesn't matter where the ship goes; they've been to Nassau 50 times anyways, nor what the shows are, they've seen them all.  They just want to relax and have nice table service meals for a few days.  It's less about whether someone can have 3 drinks, or 6 drinks, in a night and more about just having a place to congregate with some appetizers and, very likely, to meet neighbors or friends of friends, and socialize.  The host welcomes you.  It's not being fawned upon.  It's just something nice.

And RCI found a way to suck the niceness out.

Ok, older? Lol! I agree 100% with you on this one. I can't do the rock climbing wall nor the flowrider, although I love the Oasis class, but I cruise to forget about work, to relax with the fam, have a few drinks and not have to drive. Anyway, the "Key" hasn't helped either. 😉 I always look forward to see fellow cruisers that I've cruised with before and making new friends....well, new friends in the casino. Ha!

I just got off phone with Crown and Anchor and they said there has not been any

change in the nightly Diamond Event.  They were also curious of what email someone

had received.

THis is the kind of thing (nightly event in VC on Majesty) that is done by the local ship management.  I'd be surprised if the shoreside folks had any accuate info on it.

You'll get an accurate train schedule from them before you get accurate info about one of their ships.

We will be on Majesty in a couple of weeks and was wondering if the Diamond Lounge Event is held in the Viking Crown Lounge like it has been on many of our previous cruises on smaller ships that do not have a dedicated Diamond Lounge. Can anyone offer any information?

In other words, NO.

The only thing you get on Majesty is 3 daily vouchers for drinks at any bar or restaurant with beverage service, during the traditional "happy hours" of 4:30 to 8 or 5 to 8:30.  The drinks can only be made with the official booze on the list.  No frozen drinks.

This is really upsetting.  Booked for May 2020 and I would not have booked if this was the case.  I was told DL was set up in Viking Crown!

diamond + here

Agree, sailing out of NOLA had I known there was to be a change in the commonly accepted process

I would have gone with another cruise line out of NOLA

for us the departure port was key

Rick, do you know if Desmond is still with RC?  Haven't seen him in several years.

Desmond was working at the Schooner Bar on Enchantment last year before it left Port Canaveral.  He showed no signs of retirement at that time but who knows what happened after the ship went to Galveston?

No pinnacle or suite breakfast in Compass deli on our 7/3/19 cruise. Or at least we were not aware of it.

I am book in February and received an email saying that from 01/01/2020 there is only 3 drink vouchers.

I want to see that e-mail. Take a pic of it, a screenshot, or copy & paste the entire e-mail on here. I want to see the header and who sent it, along with a written message claiming the nightly Diamond Event cancellation.

Let's prove where it came from.
