When you are ready to cruise again -- be sure to submit your request for the OBC's  at least 2 weeks prior to departure (actually 30 days would be better). Take a copy of the acknowledgement with you -- we had issues with our last HAL cruise as corporate office never got the messages.

Thanks, good advice

Hi Everybody! Thank you ALL for your positive words on me becoming a shareholder 80 yrs.old.

My adult son was born with a mean personality. He bragged about how he was a stock holder.

But, not willing to help because I wanted to buy Carnival stock. He has a controlling personality.

I have decided  to blow my money on people who can help me with whatever I need to have done in my life. I plan to spend it on me before I die. For many years I would try to make my only son happy. But now I can see that it is time for old senior me to make ME HAPPY.

I sent him an E-MAIL bragging how I was able to buy Carnival stock. Plus, I said I was thinking of buying more Stock or whatever interests me. I threw it in his face. I have been doing great all by myself saving money and investing my money for many years. Like some people say, "I am very comfortable". I already have two cruises B to Back on the Royal Princess ship for the month of

December. I will be getting $250. of OBC. Plus, I also chose Option 1, for Princess to save my cruise money for a future cruise. They plan to give me some extra OBC money for letting them save my money. I am now a Gambler like my TEXAS ancestors and present relatives and friends.

I have two friends that own Carnival stock for many years now. They will give me the form needed for when I go on my next cruise. I will need to submit it. They will teach me what needs to be done. YEAH! I am so happy to be here with all of you. Just sayin.... lol.

That's $250.00 for every cruise of 14 days or more.

All together now. ..........

Great post, enjoyed reading it.

Don’t be too disappointed when Carnival Corp owned cruise lines don’t renew their OBC program for shareholders this year. Based on their current financial situation, it would be foolish if they continued this program.

I’ve always emailed mine, with an attached pdf of the statement.  I’d be very surprised if this has changed.

My only advice would be wait until the final payment date has passed before submitting.  I had Carnival representative tell me that they won’t put them in until then and there is less risk of them being missed if they come in after.

Email requests are definitely accepted.  The last one I sent regarding my rebooked cruise (April was cancelled, so rebooked to September), I received an answer the next day.  I couldn't believe it.

Foolish? That is ridiculous.

If all it costs is $100 OBC to get a shareholder on a 7 night cruise they would do that all day and night long. Plus the $100 isn't even costing Carnival $100 in many cases. (Casino, drinks, shopping, etc. all have markups/margins)

In order to get the $100 OBC you have to book a cruise! Think of it as a tiny discount for shareholders.

I've submitted a whole year's worth of cruises at once and they applied it to all of them. 😉

It has already been extended into 2021, however, it is not doing much good right now.. 😞

We’ve been doing it for about 3 years.  Cruise with Carnival at least 2 times a year and never had a problem.  We actually just submitted another one 2 days ago.  I will report back when they get to it.  They usually respond in 2-3 days but this time the confirmation email said they are backed up and it might take more time.

I agree.  I would be very surprised if they get rid of it because as you said $100 OBC costs them a lot less than $100 and they don’t want to alienate customer shareholders right now.  The last thing they need is their most faithful customers selling stock in mass.   If they ever get rid of it, it will be when everything is booming, but even then I don’t see it happening.  It definitely encourages us to stick with CCL owned lines.

I was thinking it was approved thru July 2020, not July 2021 like you correctly pointed out.  Hopefully by then things will be much better in the cruising industry,

Back when I used this kind of OBC I always used it to pay for gratuities, so it was literally costing Carnival $100 on 7-8 day cruises.  Cruise lines are already struggling financially. If they go a long time  without cruising due to COVID-19, the question won’t be will cruises lines eliminate this benefit, the question will be will cruise lines still be in business.

The cruise lines aren't going out of business. 😉

Thank you all for your POSITIVE WORDS! Yesterday April 7, 2020, It  became my freedom day from my controlling adult son who was NOT willing to help me buy Carnival stock.

I am an 80 yr.old lady senior that has chosen to pay a few dollars or more to get some Geek tech helper to help me with buying stock, learning to use zoom, need to install Roku on my t.v. and ask for tech help until I learn how to do Tecky stuff on my own. Yea... just sayin...lol

I have noticed some of you asking for advise and help on how to buy stock because you are

new at buying stock.  The information you have to do is very personal so if you are willing to

pay a small fee for help from a Investment company of your choice then you can get some real help from that company of your choice. I chose to just call Fidelity Investments and I was able to buy Carnival stock with their help. I really needed their help. I am not teck savey at all.

Last week I could have bought at 8 dollars a share. Yesterday, I said to myself that I just had to  JUMP IN AND BUY THE STOCK. I let go of my fears, it was scary. It is a gamble that I was taking.  But it has always been on my bucket list for many years when I used to be a poor teenager and wished I had the money to buy stock. I do have some money now to BLOW! I love cruising and the Cruise lines have given me many fun times and gifts of obc and free bottles of wine, liquor. etc.

I am now spending my son's inheritance since he chose to not visit me much. I plan to leave my stock and money for my adult grandchildren. They both love to cruise.

It feels great to look at how Carnival stock is slowly moving up in value.

A friend of mine who is a stock holder told me recently that my favorite Ship the ROYAL PRINCESS Ship still has all of their crew workers on the ship ready to cruise when

it is safe to cruise. She said that the crew are having lots of parties and acting like passengers.

They send her videos of what they are doing on the ship.

I have been with cruisecritic for many years now and I have been reading what you all have been

discussing. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT. LUCYR.

Since you seem to have all the answers (shareholder OBC won’t go away, no cruiseline will go out of business), could you please tell me when cruise lines will resume operations?  I would love to know if any of the 4 cruises I have booked this year will actually take place.

I enjoy going to YOUTUBE to listen to the so called experts on Carnival stock and other stocks.

I also pay attention to the POSITIVE NEWS. I have noticed how some investors love NCL, RCL, etc. They are financially helping the cruise lines to not go belly up. Plus, yesterday I heard the news that China airlines were open to take home their people back to China. That is POSITIVE NEWS.  Plus S. Arabia investing in Carnival. Those were clues for me to jump in and buy. I do depend on my Intuition and not really on the stock market advice. I had a feeling that I would be left out if I didn't buy stock yesterday.

This is a great opportunity for making money in the stock market if we are willing to take a risk.

I had been hoping to book cheapy cruises like I did many years ago when Mexico had the Swine Flu. I cruised over and over on Carnival ships.

There are many of us who have bought cruises and are just waiting for the word "GO, GO, GO.

We are the ones who know how to TRUST in Carnival. I have bought for DEC. two cruises.

My two close friends have also bought cruises for this year and next year on CCL.

I truly believe that SOON within a few months we will start cruising again. LUCYR. 80yrs old.
