Silhouette in Miami?

The ship tracker is showing Silhouette in Miami this morning after leaving Fort Lauderdale yesterday...

Noticed that. Onboard Silhouette now, they have said it’s  a medical evac, but here we sit for at least an hour, so that doesn’t add up. Had a medical evac last night while underway and that was a typical 5- minute pause.  

 

There are still a couple police cars on the pier so something going on, but looking outside the cruise bubble hoping for a clue.  Funny how that works.

Onboard rumor mill saying someone transited from deck 14 to deck 5 without elevators, landing on a lifeboat - saying not a pretty sight. Pure rumor, but would explain the long evac process.

A body bag has just been taken off the ship and a crime scene set up. Looks like it was a fall onto a lifeboat. Just watched a live video from someone onboard.

Captain just said two of our guests had a medical emergency during the night, forcing us to return to port. No flu issues involved. Says we’re now waiting for arriving traffic to depart. Would be a far better explanation but still doesn’t fully add up. We’ll just hope for the best.

Captain just repeated earlier announcement - 2 passengers required medical attention, we’re  waiting for traffic to clear to depart.  Will update on itinerary soon. ( was ABC & Caymans) would explain the situation if there was any traffic in sight.

Omg we are on this ship too! We heard the “Star code” announcement last night for deck 5! That is awful! 
We also saw someone having what seemed to be a seizure at dinner last night. Perhaps they were taken off as well.

Departing now.  Incoming traffic never materialized.  Will learn what happened when we get home.

I have friends on the ship. They said there was a fight on deck 10. Lady thrown landed on deck 6

Arriving traffic might not be visible from the ship and be further out. Probably had to wait for a pilot to be available.

 

In terms of the incident, unless an official statement is released, we'll probably never know beyond "medical emergency", which if the description is accurate, would definitely qualify. Thoughts to the person's family.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident involving a guest aboard the Silhouette, and our hearts go out the family and loved ones. This incident was not related to COVID-19.

 

Our security team is assisting authorities in their investigation as our care team continues to provide support for the families.

On our last Edge cruise there was someone taken to the local jail...

 

We would not have know without talking to people while waiting in line to reboard in port.

 

I think that jail incidents on cruises are more common than people would like to admit.

 

Celebrity security does seem to hande the incidents in a professional mannner.

Several years ago, we were in line for the early embarkation when to of Seattle's finest came on board. About ten minutes later they came back with a member of the crew, in handcuffs. We could tell he was crew by the way he was dressed.

At dinner time we had already stopped for the first evacuation .  Crew are mum about what happened in the evening.

Just heard from our friends on board and they are going to make Aruba a bit later though. He is going 21 knots rough seas. The original schedule was  8am to 11:30pm Sunday Mar 9th
