P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Back in May when we came back we hired a car for 7 days,I think it was between 250 and 300 quid.That was OK.Now we are going to Basingstoke for 2 nights tomorrow,they want £100+ per day.As I said in a previous post we are going by train for £72 all in.

Yesterday we went to the Weald and Downland Museum in Chichester, home of The Repair Shop.  You can only see the Repair Shop Barn from a distance. It looked like they were setting up for another series. The museum it's self is excellent. They took old buildings from Kent, Sussex and Hampshire and reconstructed them on the site.

That’s such a lovely gentle TV programme.  I used to regard it as too shmaltzy but now like a quiet hour with those clever people.  Some of the back stories are still a little too much for me though

 

Did anyone watch Sherwood - just finished on BBC?  I thought it was very good

 

OHs birthday, so a good excuse for lunch out.

It is my hubby’s 60th birthday tomorrow, we are going out to our favourite restaurant in Lytham then we might go listen to Snow Patrol as they are on at Lytham Festival tomorrow night

A long, long time ago in the hippy days, my brother did a trip in a mini bus to Morocco. Driving through Spain they were moved over to the side of the road by a load of police while a convoy of limousines passed by. My Brother went to take a photo. The copper with the machine gun dissuaded him. They didn't like folk taking pics of Franco. About 1965.

Lovely photos.  We like going to the open air museums.  It is so interesting to have a glimpse into how previous generations lived and worked.  We took my niece's children to Avoncroft 8 years ago when they were 6 and 4 years old and they still talk about it.  The younger one was fascinated by the prison and the elder one enjoyed learning to make bricks.

We've been to Beamish a couple of times, a fascinating place, and still haven't seen it all. On a smaller scale, Eden Camp was an interesting afternoon while on our way to Pickering.

When my son was at school the head asked if I could help out in a trip the the weald and Downland museum. You bet!. After the background and police checks, off we went. At the brick making exhibit I was given a party of 10, 10 year old boys to tell them all about bricks...I know about bricks.....10 kids, 10 different directions, going everywhere...not interested. Never did it again🤣

Had a day at Beamish last summer and stayed at the Beamish hall hotel, had no luck at all with the weather but loved the place. Eden camp is quite local to us and we’ve been a few times and would recommend it to anybody who is visiting this part of North Yorkshire, both offer a fascinating glimpse into the past👍👍

Left our house at 9,tube,train and bus arrived SIL at 11.30.Just checked in to the Wowzz penthouse suite at PI.Walk up to 1st floor,200 yard walk,up 1 more floor, last room at the end.
