Good evening.

It has been raining most of today but we took our Sarah for Sunday lunch at Langley Castle.

Beautiful pictures of you all, Graham!  What a beautiful setting for lunch.  The Castle is gorgeous!  It reminds me of when Jim and I stayed overnight in a Castle in Ireland.  In reading the history of the Castle, the original owners were a family named Foster, which is my maiden name.  I told the clerk,   "I've come to reclaim my Castle".  No sense of humor, that guy.🤷‍♀️

Time to get back to decorating, before we head out to the Christmas Parade.🎄

Santa will be arriving on our street on the 7th of December on a decorated fire truck, with Christmas music blaring, while firefighter walk alongside the truck distributing candy canes to us all.😊

Tis the Season, Mark!  I'll also be taking pictures today..our youngest grandson, William, will be marching in our towns'  Christmas Parade;  then everyone will come to our house for dinner, and the kids will decorate their gingerbread houses.

Sounds like a really fun day, Enjoy😍

and the weather is pretty decent today too!

The breeder just sent us a new picture of Elizabeth. So cute. We can't wait to pick her up right after Christmas.

Ahhh - so sweet and adorable.     good thing you are retired as I wouldn't want to leave home with her there to play and snuggle with😍

Santa arrives in our town on a fire truck on December 16th.    They drive up and down every single street in our town.   I'm like a little kid waiting by the door for his arrival 🤩

Graham-

That castle is a lovely setting for a pre- Christmas lunch !

Is it nearby your home?

Also, what kind of sandwich was that and what was that yummy looking dessert ?

Your photos have made me hungry for my mid afternoon snack !

I’ll see what I can find in the kitchen. Most assuredly, it will not be as fabulous as your lunch !

Take care

 MJ🙋🏻

akcruz- I was saddened to read of your friend’s passing from Alzheimer’s at such a young age. It is a cruel disease and has been termed a disease that is a long goodbye as the person slowly losses who they are in stages.

My Dad was diagnosed when he was 68 and passed away five years later . My mother cared for him at home  with my help and help from a very kind aide.

He passed away on Dec29,1980. Time has helped heal his loss and life moves on, of course. Still, there are times that I still miss him. For a good while, Christmastime was a difficult time for me. Fortunately, others came into my life with love and caring. I slowly regained the Christmas spirit because of them.

I have been reading on this forum about Christmas music. After Dad

passed, I found it difficult to listen to much of it, choosing upbeat songs like Rocking Around the Christmas Tree etc. Silent Night still can bring tears to my eyes.

I was very fortunate to have a caring and loving Dad. He was someone who shared his heart and good fortune gladly.

For all here who are enjoying Hanukkah or Christmas celebrations today, I wish you a lovely time.

My DH and I plan to do some decorating inside the house today. Tomorrow night, we are joining friends for a drive- thru light show and we expect company on Thursday. And so it goes....

Hoping everyone has a day where they are feeling safe and loved-

MJ🙋🏻

Hugs to you, our friends wife took care of him until the last 6 months when he became pretty much immobile.  It is truly a labor of love taking care of them and I feel for anyone having to go through it.

We lost my father in law on Thanksgiving almost 20 years ago, the holiday has never been the same.  At least for us there is not the constant music, etc that goes along with the day.  On the bright side, my grandson was born 15 years later on the day FIL passed, it wasn't Thanksgiving but a few days after.  We try to remember the good and celebrate what we can.

The castle is about 40 miles from home.

Rustic Farmhouse Terrine with piccalilli-Brioche.

The desert was.

Eggnog Panna cotta with Rum and Raisin ice cream.

Graham.

Piccalilli and pate sounds like an acquired taste.

I’m probably in the minority in this, but I’m not a huge fan of Celine.

I can do without Celine. You can keep her, Nickelback and the Beibs too. 😁

My neighbour’s in Quebec might beg to differ, at least on the first individual.

The castle looks charming, perfect place for a meal during the holiday season.
I love the photo of the three of you.
It is lovely enough to frame so you can see it every day!
