I delayed getting my second booster too after increasingly bad reactions to the shots. I am waiting now due to having Covid. Not sure when I will get the next shot.

I hope you are feeling better today. 🙂

Eric just got his 2nd booster of pfizer to help protect him for our cruise on 8.28 since he is immuno compromised.   The other arm he got his 2nd dose of shingles vaccine.   He felt crappy for 2 days.  I said that wasn't a good idea to get both at same time but his choice.

I plan on waiting until October when the new batch is released.

We’re sailing on the 20th to Aruba and Curaçao. Here at home I go from AC to AC, so the heat doesn’t bother me.
My favorite part of cruising is called Balcony. I don’t know how much of it I’ll be comfortable with this cruise.
Why did I pick August!!!

Mimi - Just spend more time outside here to get acclimated.  Pretty much the same weather.  I play golf in those conditions twice a week and am sort of (but not really) used to being a sweaty mess.  Even so, if the balcony is full sun, I wouldn't even try going out there.

I'll let you know. Plan A is to see if they still have the free testing at the Airport and if so we will test there when we land.  Plan B is a proctored test that we have scheduled for 8pm (only $20 for the 2 of us so not concerned if we lose $20 if we can get tested earlier.  If both those fail there is a clinic about a 10 minute walk from our hotel that is open 24/7 for $20pp.

Have a great time Ken!

Mine was my second booster as well but I had a 3 dose primary series which was aimed at those who were immunocompromised.

I have known several people that have mixed pfizer and moderna.  At one point I recall reading mixing might be better for you.  Personally, we have boosted with same as our original doses, Pfizer.

My daughter was a Bio major and worked with vaccines during grad school, she says to mix them up if you can.  Both her and her husband did, 1st two doses were the same, both boosters the same but different than original.  Of course she didn't mention that to us until after we had our 1st booster.  Since we bitn had covid earlier this year waiting for the fall to get the next.  Will check in with her before we do.

First hurdle complete.  Self testing at home before our flights complete...both negative.

Next stop....delivering Merlin to "camp".

930 Flight so heading to the airport at 4:30 which after an hour drive will get us there 4 hours early.  Should be enough time at YYZ which had thr honor of being voted world's worst airport last month.

Have a safe and wonderful trip!

I had all Pfizer and was fine.

Paulines first 2 were Astrazeneca but her booster was moderna and she had a bad reaction.

Extended my stay in Houston by a few extra days. Found out Garth Brooks was having a concert, his very last one in North America on his current concert tour. I'm a huge Garth fan but my DW absolutely LOVES him. Probably has everyone of his albums,  his music would fill our house while she sang along, we attended his previous concerts at least 6 or 7 times, including a very intimate one man show when he had a residency at the Wynn hotel casino in Vegas.

Anyways, even though she could not attend with me, it still felt like the right thing to do. It was as if it was a sign.  The show was fantastic, fun, ear splitting & at times a bit too emotional.  He is a great performer  & knows how to engage the crowd. So glad I went & met a few good super fans along the way .

Tomorrow, leave for the long road trip back to NY.

Yes, In August temps will be high 80's, low 90's but that isn't the worse part. Humidity will be 75% or higher most days.

And remember the old saying, “ladies glow, men perspire, and horses sweat”?
Well, I am obviously a horse, and go beyond sweating in high humidity!

I delayed, too. That might be part of the problem.

I just grabbed a glass of wine. That should take the sting off!

Nancy, I hope you are feeling much better today.  Although I've had no reaction to my shots and first booster, I'm not looking forward to my second one.

But I have friends in low places. Where the whisky drowns and beer chases my blues away. And I'll be okay. 😄😄🙃😁

12 days of bliss!

Gdansk is an interesting place to visit. I did a shore excursion to Gdańsk and we stopped to see Lech Walenska’s house from the road. Just a house, but the man is a hero to me. Saw the shipyard, too, where the Solidarity  movement began.
WWII began in Gdańsk when a peaceful port call by a German ship turned into an attack.
Dick wouldn’t pay for a shore excursion. He took the train to Gdańsk. Both stations were convenient and he saw some of what I did.

I used to complain that my head spouted water like an irrigation system.
I’ll park farther out in the Publix  parking lot and see if it still does.

Have a wonderful time on your Baltic cruise!

We are having a great time on Oasis so far. The grandkids are having a blast.

How wonderful!  There sure are plenty of fun things onboard for the kids to do.  How old are they?

The first 12-24 hours we have had enough discomfort that we did not sleep on side of the needle. For the last two, Lisa’s lymph nodes on her collar bone shot side has been swollen. On this last shot for me, the nodes in my armpit are swollen from the shot.

That sounds kind of scary.  I hope you both are feeling much better, and that the swelling has gone down.
