It is just a duck that photographed poorly.  It is actually a custom made, glass duck, and not one of those rubber ducks.

Susan likes this little duck.

Wow, that’s nice someone went thru the trouble of making it or buying it custom made. I would love to find one of those.

I did witness an extreme act of idiocy yesterday on the pool deck.  A young mother sat her daughter (1 year old or less) on the rail, and was holding her in much the same way as that tragic accident happened.

Granted, there was not a window there, but who in their right mind would think that was a good idea.

Some people seem to leave their brains at home when on vacation. 🙁

We have been racing Odyssey back.  Either Vision or Rhapsody is there too

So the latest from onboard is that Izumi is now closed for 14 days due to Covid in the staff there.  I also saw a copy of a letter saying they closed dining room 3, and it is open seating on deck 4 and 5 dining.  We are in dining room 5, and I haven’t been to the cabin to see if we got a letter. Must be a staffing issue now.

I forget which ship are you on?

I’ve been absent for a few days and just getting caught up.
@DaniDanielle Happy Birthday!
@Sunshine3601 Congrats on the negative tests! We’re all looking forward to hearing about your cruise. I hope you have a wonderful time!

While putting away all the Christmas decorations I had to move a couple of large plastic bins full of old photo albums and boxes upon boxes of photos.  This sent me down the rabbit hole of finally starting the project of organizing about 35 years worth of pictures.  Most of the recent ones aren’t even printed yet, they’re on our phones, our computer, an external device and a bunch of memory cards floating around.  First up is deleting all the obsolete ones (you know, when you take 5 shots of the same thing).  So this should keep me occupied!
Found out Wednesday my SIL in Mass tested positive. He didn’t  come along with the rest of us to PA for New Years. His step brother decided in October to get married on New Years Eve.  Plans had already been made for the PA trip, so he just went to the wedding alone while my DD and the 2 GDD’s went to PA.  So we assume he got it at the wedding even though there were only 60 guests.  The almost 3 yr old started with a runny nose & dry cough on Weds, she’s been tested at pediatrician and awaiting results.  The 11 month old has no symptoms so they wouldn’t test her. DD did home test on herself Weds & today and is negative.  SIL has mild, head cold symptoms.  But the kids daycare requires 10 day quarantine & negative test to return, so basically they’re stuck at home for 10 days because of that.

After last nights snow (we got about 6 inches), I can’t wait for our FL trip!

Sorry for all those who had to cancel their cruises, or had them cancelled by the cruise line.  I was at first disappointed about canceling our March one, but now I’m good with it.  Like you @Arzeena, it was the right decision for us.  We’re fortunate to be retired so when we feel ready, we can pretty much sail at the drop of a hat.
Im going to try to keep up from now on. Catching up is hard!!

Most of our snow is gone replaced by sheets of ice.Tomorrow it will be in the 20’s.

Do you have an ice dance or chant you can do to make sure we don't get this freezing ice storm they are predicting for Sunday.     Our Son is picking us up around 10 am to drive us to Cape Liberty (about 2 hrs +/- hrs from Bucks County).     If you have pull, please use it so it is just rain and not freezing rain.    Thank you 🥰

Would you consider staying overnight at a hotel closer to port? We did that a couple of times when sailing out of NY and NJ.

@DaniDanielleHappy Birthday Marietta!  I see that Graham already sent you the required goodies.

To those leaving this week, we need you to stay healthy.  It is the only way to prevent any future cancellations.  My advice, and note that I am not a doctor, is to drink plenty of of those umbrella beverages.

@ArzeenaEnjoy the sunshine.  It certainly beats our 20 degrees we will be experiencing tonight.

The flight numbers seem to be down.   The flight from Memphis to Atlanta was 20% to maybe 25%.  The flight from Atlanta to Orlando is at the most 70 %.  We are finally taking off.  Been just sitting here for 15 minutes after everyone is boarded.

I am thankful that all worked out for you with RC.   The sad thing for me is we will not be meeting this week.  I am looking forward to the next opportunity.

Did you fly to FL today?  I sure hope your flights go much smoother than your last cruise😍

I originally had doubletree hilton booked as a park and stay as it was much cheaper then paying for 22 nights at parking garage but I cancelled the other day as we prefer to avoid as many people as possible till we board.

And our Son and fiance are excited to drive us to see what the Anthem looks like since they will be going on a. Cruise with us in March.

We are on Oasis.

I don’t want to report something I haven’t verified about what happened with dining today, but it was a Royal mess.  On very short notice, they closed all dining on deck 3, and notified everyone it would be open seating on decks 4 and 5.  Tonight was formal night, so after doing a couple photos we headed toward our normal deck 5 dining room, and there was a huge line.

49568EE0-1D08-49DB-9941-751002C87839.thumb.jpeg.7302298b45ea0ee6edef815b9dbeeb8e.jpeg

Then they told everyone to go to deck 4, because they wanted to fill it up first, and that line was crazier.

Fortunately, our regular waiter saw us and took us to a table he got assigned.  He had our orders, and had them to our table in record time. Without even asking, there were 2 lobster tails on our plates, and we had a beef tenderloin also.

We were eating our molten lava cake before others around us, with other waiters, even had their appetizers.

Social distancing went out the window with this development.  Then, their problems carried over to the aqua show.  With the dining problems, many would end up missing their reserved show tonight. Since last night’s show was canceled, a lot of people were there for a standby line, and Royal’s staff was not prepared for that. They reminded me of someone trying to heard cats.

Well, it did work out for us, because we managed to get into the show.

I did see where next week’s cruisers were notified their boarding time would be delayed, and it appears our dining issues will continue tomorrow.

We will see what tomorrow brings.  Hopefully a beautiful sunrise and a negative test for next week.

The Aqua shows are the highlight for  me of an O class ship.

I love both the ice and aqua shows on all rccl ships that have them , I am experiencing nyc withdrawals so went to the best Jewish deli in Dallas and bought pastrami, rye bread, chopped liver along with Cole slaw and potato salad, we will get several meals out of that.
