That is my conclusion too.

6 weeks ago TA said P&O were working through February Refunds.

Ours was March 20 Azura TA one of the first affected and nothing yet.

Specialist TA Jannet have not impressed us at all

February refunds?  Did it start in February?  I thought March.

I really struggle to believe the staffing excuse, only because of the distinct lack of passengers receiving refunds.

If that is the case, they seem to be doing very little to address it and it will get a lot worse.

I believe a tactical decision has been made to hold on to money as long as possible, but hopefully we will start seeing the cheques arriving soon.

I agree, the staffing excuse doesn't wash. If it was true there would be clear evidence of the flow of refunds, but there is practically none that we know of. If there is a trickle then it is so small and slow that the waiting time will rise exponentially so that it will run into years for some.

That's what I am thinking.

This was from a so called specialist TA Jannet on TV.

Until cruising starts again and they are getting money in.

I never thought they were lying about it at that time mid March because I didn't know if there had been any cancellations in February.

It's only now when you queried February  that it is making me question whether the agent who seemed pleasant and helpful at the time was giving me a fob story.

I am rather enjoying all this gnashing of teeth and sabre rattling from everyone waiting for a refund. Glad I decided early to leave the money with P&O and put it against a future cruise, before the prices went up, although I think Iona winter cruises are about the same as they were before the pandemic hit.

Enjoy ??

I thought you may have a bit of empathy with your fellow cruisers with a dash of sympathy John .

Chances are they will get their money back Whilst watching the prices of cruising fall , it could happen .

Just as Mr Covid could take some Future Cruise Creditors out before they get chance to sail ,again it could happen .

Lets hope you all get to enjoy your cruises or refunds .

Long may you be continue to be happy with that decision John and I’m being sincere in that wish because unlike you I don’t take joy in the problems others experience.

You are obviously in the position to be able to take an FCC, not every one is. So your enjoying that then?

I dont take joy in it at all egelsbrech, but I do find it strangely addictive reading the same moans and groans every day, and quite often every hour.  I really do empathise with all your concerns and worries, but honestly is it doing you any good, one or two of you do seem prepared to sit back and wait, but many of you keep repeating the same things, as though by increasing the number of times you revisit your loss will improve your chances of a good outcome.

I hope you all do get full refunds, but I fear it  might be a long wait.

The lockdown is affecting most people mentally.

Social distancing,no pubs, restaurants, cruises, flights, hotels and the threat of catching this deadly virus and the sombre daily briefing on TV.

To add to this we have P&O and TAs treating us shabbily.

At least on here we are.

All in it Together.

We all want the refunds that we are entitled to but I agree that repeating the same things does no good and probably does your stress levels no good in these already dreadful times.

It seems to me that there are two groups, one just wanting their refunds and those needing their refunds to help ends meet. The latter I have every sympathy with.

Being retired we are in the former group and, in that respect, lucky. But it's not a panacea for us as well.

We have cancelled two cruises back on the 17th March and still have five booked up to early 2022. Much of the cost of those cruises would have been paid for by dividend income from our investments over the years. With that drying up rapidly we may have to cancel some or all of them and forfeit the deposits.

I'm not complaining - it is what is it and we are both keeping out of harms way and remain healthy even though we have underlying health conditions.

I wont be chasing P&O or contacting my credit card company - I'm happy to sit and wait.

Probably the best attitude.

If we were kept properly up to date by our TAs and P&O it would help enormously as we are all P&O loyalists.

Very interesting what Vice President of Royal Caribbean Europe,Middle East and Africa Ben Bouldin said recently and I quote-

"We have spent a lot of time trying to attract new cruisers. That could well be a bit more challenging in the short term. So I would be looking at the guests that have cruised before, and cruised with Royal before. Speak to them first as they will be ambassadors".

Obviously P&O didnt hear the speech or if they did they are not listening.

I haven't received anything either, but have been told by phone it has been received.

I didn't fill out the form again as learnt from experience with P&Os system that it could be read as a new claim and the first date is overriden.

Don't think so. I've just done a quick Google search and what I found was much more interesting , and I wouldn't have believed any of them. Not even the cheque's in the post. ☺
