Any TAs out there? Apparently there was an RCI webinar with some updates today.

Recommended Posts

If you have read other posts, ... even before carnival made it official you knew Galveston and florida were the only ports carnival allowed you to book in august, the rest couldnt be booked until September. I'd be saying carnival was tipping their hat. Their announcement was exactly as expected.

Rcl and carnival probably will follow each other. Rcl has been cancelling in waves of 30 days. If people want to book cruises they know will be cancelled rcl let's them book. Ccl is giving $600 obc to rebook, and cut it off, rcl hasnt.

I'd be surprised if rcl wasnt doing what ccl is doing, sending out a few test ships in august. Cdc or someone might stop them, but that's what I think the plan is.

Didn’t see any webinars on Tuesday.  The regular weekly Wednesday one is today at noon.  Are you sure that this wasn’t actually a recap of last weeks webinar.

Yes, several mentioned a regular Wednesday webinar,  but this was definitely today. Not many people seemed to know about it. I’m guessing if the info is out there, it will be covered tomorrow for TAs. Will you let us know what’s released?

Will do.  Must say though that nothing in the screenshot that you posted comes as a surprise

Seems like a practical way to restart a cruise line.

No mention of social distancing in elevators or eliminating Windjammer.  Let the gnashing of teeth begin.

I’ve always been amazed at the number of able bodied, young or middle aged people that use lifts to go one or two floors. Stairs are a free exercise machine.

Just because you think someone looks able bodied doesn’t mean they are. That is an obnoxious assumption.

Perhaps I made a generalisation but they all can’t have an underlying medical condition.

tell that to the 50 year old with a fake hip due to lifelong arthritis and severe lung compromization( as yet undiagnosed) who can't do stairs without feeling like her chest is going to explode.  I'll just give you a dirty look  though, so don't be offended.

question on the 25-50% capacity:   how do they plan on implementing that?   there are those of us who( perhaps foolishly) have PIF  our cruises in July and beyond.   how many of us stand to be bumped or denied boarding due to these restrictions?   where do they draw the line on who gets  to sail and who doesn't?   I mean are they going to offer  huge incentives to  cancel and rebook at a later date?   are they going to  limit all cabins to 2 pax so families are going to have to split up?

Nothing has been officially been released and no details have been released and so far the only mention of it is one FB post.

Especially since they’ll probably have a new medical questionnaire that will prevent people with an underlying medical condition from boarding.😎

They prob will follow what Carnival is saying and leave from TX and FL starting in August with limited ships and short cruises. They will figure out a way to test everyone and switch over ship between cruises in a  different way than we all have done until now. They are itching to get going and start already.

Probably RCL wants all High  tiered Crown and Anchors Members to sail first.  😏

Today's info will come from this. Unfortunately for TA's only. I hope to have my spies let me know what she says.

From the speculation on the limited capacity, it will only be rooms with a balcony but we will see if that is truly the case.  If RCCL does what Carnival has planned, I am on Harmony 8/23 out of Port Canaveral and have a balcony.  Hopefully I will be sailing.  Neither my husband nor I are afraid to test it.  At this point, my positive thinking is running thin.

Either that or the top 25% of passengers that paid the most for their cabins.

After all, you'll want to maximize revenue per passenger on a money losing cruise while not killing off your most frequent customers. 😉
