Yes.   Still are AFAIK.   Scott.

Nope. Amsterdam and Rotterdam currently are...have been for 10 or 15 years.

Edit: its not clear from @lcand1923 is referring to Veendam and Maasdam, or Amsterdam and Rotterdam. In 20-20 hindsight...probably Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

At one time, weren't these two vessels considered the Joint Flagships of HAL?

They still are.  I can’t see doing a world cruise on the Veendam and the Maasdam has some weaknesses IMO.

Oops sorry for an echo.  Looks like several of us posted at the same time 😉

How sad!  Looks like no more "Grands" - at least for a while.    We have a cruise booked for next year on Rotterdam, some of it paid for with the FCCs from our cancelled April Rotterdam cruise.   More confusion!

So one of our favorites, the Maasdam, and our least favorite, the Veendam, gone next month and the Amsterdam and Rotterdam later in the year.   No chance for a farewell cruise.  I can’t express my extreme sadness to see our much beloved S-class ships disappear from the fleet.

I  haven’t seen an announcement.  Link please?

If they were just sold then I suspect the cruises will either be cancelled or an offer to change to a different ship and itinerary?

It is 4 ships - Also the Amsterdam and the Rotterdam.  This virus is killing everything!  On the Rotterdam in November 2019 the captain said at his "ask the captain"  that HAL was planning to keep the Rotterdam for another 10 years.

They are going to a good home and not scrap thankfully.  These are lovely ships.  "High yielding cabin mix"  is a code word for balcony cabins which are in short supply on the really old tonnage they are replacing.

Just received an email from Holland America that our cruise is cancelled.....sigh....not a happy house here.

We just got it, too.  I wonder how they are going to figure out the FCC on the FCC...  double deposit, then more FCC.🙃
