Here's a thought re this invitation email, how many people have ONLY ever booked through a TA and got an invite? Maybe you need to have booked direct?

Just a thought.🤔

Most of our bookings over the last 5 or so years have been direct.  No invite for us.

I don’t think it’s got anything to do with loyalty. I think it’s to do with the emails they have set up on their systems as my hubby gets one I don’t but we’ve been on the same cruises in each our names.
I’m assuming you have lots of other reasons to be feeling like that against p&o rather than no email

I regularly get e-mails from P&O trying to sell me cruises and news from them.

We have both had invites and have never booked direct, always via a TA.

I really don't understand why people are worried about this invite.

Thousands of invitations have been sent out, and without being judgemental,  why would anyone worry if they have not been asked to sit in front of their TV to watch Gazza plug his latest CD.

I got an invite! It was in the “promotions” folder of my Gmail account. I have done 2 P&O cruises with 2 booked, neither on Iona.

You need to change your email preferences.

You may be missing lots of invitations to be "friends" with attractive people!

I got an invite and don't currently have any cruises booked. Maybe their target is people who aren't frequent cruisers.

I'm wondering how you will watch it on the tv, where you don't have emails set up. Presumably open the email on phone and then hopefully cast to tv.

I would have been a frequent cruiser if they didn't keep cancelling them. 🤣

She has set sail now, with Captain Wesley Dunlop onboard.

Thanks for that.  Last I read Capt Robert Camby was looking after her whilst mothballed.  Vague recollection that Capt Wesley Dunlop was bringing her to the UK, but that was soooooooo long ago.

He posted elsewhere that he was on a flight out to Skagen to take over and bring her home.

The Southampton VTS has changed Iona's arrival time to 11am on Sunday.  Also they have added an departure/arrival on Monday 17th May at 11.00/11.30.

Just turning around. As it involves occupying the lower swinging ground for a while, it gets listed. She is due to be starboard alongside Sunday (back in) and then is changing to port alongside (nose in) on Monday.

I know none of us have a crystal ball, except possibly @molecrochip, but has there been any talk of whether Iona will still be cruising to Norway in summer 2023?
My sister was due to go to Norway this summer in Iona and can’t transfer to next summer so is really hoping 2023 will be an option.

Given that both the 20 and 21 summer seasons were cancelled, I expect she will.

I really want to go and watch her arrival and to watch from Hythe but I’m really confused at what time that will be , I wanted to get some photos, anybody know roughly?

She is due on dock for 11. So Southampton water entrance should be just after 10am. Hythe at 10.15 and she will then swing and back in to Ocean terminal.

That was as I suspected.  I see Britannia is also due in on the 16th but no time showing yet.  I was wondering if this may be timed to escort Iona home?

Moley!  Welcome back! We've all missed you and your insights.

I notice on Twitter a number of people posting pictures of a package they have received to help them enjoy watching the launch....followed by outrage from those who haven’t been so lucky.

can’t wait to watch it play out on here....

They appear to be travel writers btw
