What do other cruise lines do that you wish Royal Caribbean would do?

Another thing that I would like Royal to do is post reviews of their shore excursions right on the shore excursion page. I was on Carnival's site and reading reviews from people who did the shore excursions was very insightful as to pro's and con's of the different excursions.

They used to do that.  Stopped some years ago, around the time the "upgraded" the website to the annoying thing it is now.  😣

Agree...past time for RCI to get with the healthier trend.  🙂

Or do as NCL has done on a couple of the newer ships (Bliss and Encore at least, maybe Joy also but she's the oldest of the 3 and went through a "conversion" from Asian-market configuration) and have a walled-off section of casino for smokers.  Only people actually playing the games are allowed in that smoking section.

They announced 8 days would now be 7 days.  No word on 10 day cruises.

We haven't received anything from Celebrity yet. Final payment isn't due until June. We are hoping Celebrity won't reduce the number of nights if the cruise is still a go. For now our glasses are full🍷 🍷, we are wearing our rose colored glasses😍 😍and fingers crossed🤞 🤞Celebrity doesn't reduce the number of nights.  My Magic 8 Ball says, "cannot predict now". 🎱 Bummer.

one more vote for no smoking, also  wish that all of the ships in the fleet would have live music by the pool during the daytime....Would also like to see it be mandatory that all children be required to eat at least one healthy meal during their whole cruise...The last time i checked pizza and chicken tenders would not qualify and the parents allow the damn kids to eat whatever....Great future for heart specialist in the medical field for the next 50 years....damn that felt good to say! Maybe they can take selfies when they get their bypasses.....

I wish there was like a valet service or something,  so that they could pick my luggage for example or provide me with transport to the port or some additional services  regarding much faster boarding. That would be awesome

My post had to do with Celebrity changing 8 day cruises to 7 day.  Royal hasn’t changed anything.

Only good thing for our 8-day in August, which will not be permitted to sail under CDC guidelines, is that the same 6/8-day pattern starts on the Indy for June, so when they tell the June cruisers what will be happening, it will likely apply to our August Indy cruise as well, which should be well before final payment deadline.

I wish RCCL would offer at least one 12-14 day Caribbean from NJ in any of the first three months of the year. 12 days gets you to lots of places and the extra days at sea are better spent on a ship than in airports, hotels and restaurants than wasted when flying to Florida or San Juan.

They used to.  Remember a 14 night'er on Explorer all the way to ABC islands.  Also did 12 night sailings on Quantum and Anthem.

One thing dw appreciates on Princess and VO is self-service laundry.  Viking is actually free and they provide the detergent.

Azamara has self serve laundry, w. free detergent.

Can I say in short, comparing the specialty restaurants, MDR and Windjammer, in picture I see three levels.

I realize there has to be a significant difference between food quality in the MDR versus the speciality, but as a recent thread pointed out, the quality in MDR has diminished. I am not a complainer about MDR, as I generally enjoy the event, but the quality could use just a tad increase, to make more of a significance between it and the Windjammer.

I also feel the quality of the headline entertainment and Show productions on the smaller ships could use a tad increase in quality.

Just opinions,

Eddie

All carnival ships have self serve laundry, just not free detergent. Bring a few tide pods.

Yes.  Although we haven't liked Carnival in general this was a definite plus.  There is a product called Washees (google it if interested) that are dry sheets impregnated with detergent that you just throw in the washer.  They are great to travel with, especially if you travel carry-on only, as they are not a liquid.  You can also cut a smaller piece to do some laundry in a hotel sink.  Carnival also does have that great chocolate cake with the molten fudge center.  I think Princess also has laundry rooms, but not sure.  One thing that makes me give a sad little smile of nostalgia in these no-cruise COVID times is seeing one of those little yellow tapes that come from the ship's laundry still on an article of clothing.  Those things sure are durable!

The only thing easier than raising other people's children is spending other people's money!

A few tide pods work lol. Besides once you hit platinum on carnival, you get a free bag of laundry for those so inclined. If I had kids I might be more concerned with laundry.

I never liked chocolate molten cake. Tastes uncooked to me. But I like the duck they had on lobster  ight and guys etc. Their fruit plate or cheese plate at dessert works for me.

I was just reading a thread on the carnival boards and seems their steak house is still $38 pp. I like their price better than rcl. Some other prices for similar excursions and onboard store items seem better on carnival. Each has pluses. Free drinks on rcl a win. Lol

After reading this thread and others comparing cruise lines, I think that if we go outside RCG, we would try Princess, HAL or Oceania, depending on which one had the itinerary that we wanted.  Thanks everyone for comments and info.

On my celebrity cruises in last few years you couldn’t access your cabin/suite until about  1 pm. I do love lots of things about Celebrity, love getting a glass of champagne or sparkling wine when you board the ship. They have a great suite restaurant and suite lounge much nicer than rccl.

We were on Summit in Feb 2019.     Boarded at 11am and was able to go straight to our cabin.   Luggage had not arrived yet but we were able to drop our carry ons.     The welcome aboard champagne was a nice touch.

In the whole scheme of things, this is a small perk, but one that makes a great first impression.

My guess is that the RCCL accountants have dismissed the idea as "costing too much."

What's that expression... "penny wise and pound foolish!"

Or maybe it disrupts the flow of boarding

I'd be the person who wanted wine not champagne lol
