Have you actually seen an NCL employee contract where it states to 

LIE?  There might be a mention to refer press and media questions to the 

PR department, but to outright lie?  

 

This is guy seems to know of all the Noro outbteaks on all ships.  He does get his info from employees among other sources.

So why is not mention the NCL Pearl TA April 2019?. Ok that sailing was heading into Europe. Hundreds and hundreds of case onboard.

 

The staff are pleasant but they tell you nothing. They are ordered to be evasive lets put it that way.

The virus first appeared on the 2nd or 3rd day out and within a few days, most of the ships areas were shut down except the Casino and Spa which are moneymakers. MANY folks quarantined. We were for 4 days. Forced us to remain in our cabin while people in full hazmat suits sprayed our cabin. We were then left to breath the substance. Asked for an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for medical review on returning home but refused. Sent email to Corporate (NCLH) complaining about the lack of candor by all Senior Officers and front desk and was thrown off the ship the next day in Belgium with a sick wife. Requested to remain in our cabin another 24 hours until we reached Amsterdam but all requests were refused. Avid 40-year cruiser and never saw anything like this. We were platinum members but meant nothing. Also banned from all NCL ships for life. Spend a few dollars more and go with Princess. It's very consistent.

The accident allegedly occurred during the 13-day Transatlantic cruise (itinerary April 28 - May 11) from NYC (New York USA) to Amsterdam, with call ports in Ireland (Cobh-Cork, Dublin), France (Le Havre-Paris), England (London-Tilbury), Belgium (Zeebrugge) and Holland (Amsterdam).”

That bad that isn't it. "Lack of candor" I couldn't have put it better myself. But what that fails to mention is they did the irish immigration check all at once for all decks staggered but on the same day with lines through the entire spinnaker bar which overlooks the ship - think the Viking Crown but twice the size - No wonder it spread the way it did. Could have done that check over several days.

Do you really think that in this current Covid-19 Pandemic with the intense scrutiny of not only cruise ships but everywhere can be kept from the public ??

 

Would the doctors on the ship risk possible arrest for not reporting the problem?

Would the passengers infected not have to be treated once back on land?

Would the dead have to be reported when they were carried off the ships?

Would the cruise line leadership not be brought up on charges by the ports they may have exposed the virus to?

This is not a few days in the head, and although Noro can be serious it is in NO WAY Covid-19.

Yes.  It absolutely can be kept from the public.  Please look to our southern border where anyone can cross without being tested or quaranteened, with no social distancing and simply released out into the public.  Not a single person will be charged or lose their job, unless they report what is truly happening on the border.  Either there is or isn't a pandemic going on.  Either the rules apply to all or to no one...

There's a difference between being kept from the public and being largely ignored.

 

Nothing about covid on cruise ships would be ignored. In fact it'd be super amplified.

There is only one news network covering the border story in depth with interviews with CBP members, local ranchers, border crossers and elected officials on live and recorded films and photos.

 

Granted it is the only Cable media outlets covering the story however it is the number one watched with several million watching at any one particular moment day and night..

 

However I believe you are correct that NOTHING will be done.

Yep, and just like those going for spring break in Mexico are starting to find out, if you test positive, you can't fly home. I can't fathom how much it is going to cost to staying isolated in a hotel in Nassau until you test negative.

 I have been to Cabo San Lucas twice during COVID with no issues, and am going again next week. I am fully vaccinated so there is that. I'll let you know how it goes.

The person who tested positive is in his 30s so he probably wasn't.

I haven't found out yet, I suspect they aren't vaccinated yet based on them being in the 30s and from Michigan and I would have thought the article would have said.

I suspect there is going to be issues for the older Teenagers that can't get the vaccine yet but still have the same risk of infection as adults. And then 1 of the parents/guardians would need to stay behind in Nassau until the child tests negative.

My question to the CDC would be, what's the difference between a ship full of vaccinated people in June '21 vs November '21 (or any future date for that matter)? I'm worried that the people making these decisions are the same type of people who dislike cruising and would be perfectly happy to see the industry go away forever.

From what I can tell, there hasn't been a study to test spread in large group settings with a high % of vaccinated people living in close quaters, just data for small group settings. So to answer you question DATA.

This is something the CLIA could have put together months ago and presented to the CDC. So either the CLIA didn't care enough to conduct the study using existing sailings or they have the data and it doesn't look good.
