Has anyone read thru the guest conduct policy that is now a part of the documents a pax agrees to?

Its from the parent company.

Spins where would we find this policy statement?  Is this new or .......?

This is embedded in the health policy for upcoming cruises.

Perhaps others have seen and agreed because you cant go without your consent.

I am asking because there are some significant issues.

Agree, looks kind of annoying and extremely vague to the point of meaning anything they want. Basically they can decide unilaterally that any behavior that they choose is "unsafe" and therefore prohibited, and anything they want can be a sign of communicable disease and necessitate quarantine. But the worst part is the policy on alcohol brought on board - really? Thought we left that nonsense behind when we stopped cruising with NCL back in the 1990s. Hope that silliness doesn't really apply to an all-inclusive line like SS. I fail to see the point of that.

Edited to add - @spinnaker2, should you start a new thread about this topic? Technically we're not supposed to discuss SS policies etc in the Cooler. Maybe one of the hosts can break these posts out of the Cooler into a new thead? @Host Jazzbeau, what do you think?

Does this even apply to Silversea?  It sounds like it has been written for some booze cruise line where all sorts of misbehavior occurs.

OK, a quick scan shows no restriction on a 3rd glass of wine 🙂 but I am sure I'm missing the majority of what's going on

Not to leave you hanging Que.   New policy seems to say that guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board except on embarkation day with a further restriction of 2 bottles.   This is new.   Some other restrictions seem to be new as well.   On World Cruises some folks bring cases of their favourite tipple on board to carry them through 120 days or so.  Not sure if the line is prepared to tell these folks that they can't do that anymore.

I only skimmed the document but, having worked my way up to SS via the mainstream lines (started on the old Windjammer barefoot cruises, if anyone remembers them)  this is no different from how it's always been on the mainstreams. This is from Royal dated Nov 2020 so it's not totally new.

And it's the conditions I've always assumed when travelling - basically once you set foot on a ship (or plane for that matter) you have no rights to anything, the company entirely calls the shots.

Just smile (not too broadly because of the face recognition scanner) and hope for the best.

"Throughout their history, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruises and Azamara (collectively referred to herein as ”Royal Caribbean Group,” “our,” “we” or “us”.........)........."

Guidelines apply to SS - they read as if lawyers intended to reduce any and all potential trouble spots and reduce cruise line liability - yes, individual passengers can behave badly which in turn impacts the entire group - blameless or not.

The guideline do a pretty good job getting the message across up front, .....do it, and you are on your own so no complaining after the fact.  These guidelines sound reasonable to me. Ships are a closed system and the more passengers appreciate that up front, the better for all concerned.

Allowing unlimited alcohol for in-cabin use has been a liability hot button for cruise lines for years - and quite controversial when it was taken away, but with no real lasting impact as other cruise lines proved after they initiated the two bottles of wine only policy. Lawyers tracked the increase of man-overboard incidents  to the introduction of cruise cabin balconies.

Equally controversial was the introduction of  strict no-smoking policies. Heading into younger demographics, this will put the strict no marijuana policy to its biggest test, and may require an equivalent "cigar lounge only" accommodation for these younger passengers and thier unique relaxtion-intoxication of choice.

Has anyone with an SS booking been sent this, and if so where is it on the SS website?

I really do not see any major issue here for SS passengers. Clearly, RCL wanted to paint a policy in very broad strokes.   It can be enforced selectively.  But such a policy does give SS grounds to discipline very unruly guests.  Some years ago there were complaints about alleged conduct on a "booze cruise."

As Mr. Silver will attest, clicking the “spell check” button in Microsoft Word or literally proof reading the actual copy before posting online has never been SS’s strong suit.

I know when sailing Mass Market there are many people who want to bring their own booze (and lots of it)...sneaking it in however they can.......bottles of this, using various forms of contraband to get it on the ship.  It takes all kinds of folks...........

Here is a copy of the health form that one must complete as well as upload the vax card in order to cruise at the moment.

If you click on the guest health safety link which is embedded in this page you will be taken to the lengthy document. One is not sent a copy of the document.

Lois did you upload a copy of your vax card?

Did you click on the link embedded in the page?

It’s on the MySilversea booking page.
