Majestic Princess updated?

When the Majestic Princess set sail in 2017 it had been designed for the Asian market and their preferred tastes and interests. But now the Majestic is set to sail in the US market, so have they made changes to come more in line with what us spoiled (😉) Americans want? I want my pizza and burgers on Lido deck! I want to sit at a bar in the evening! There doesn't seem to be an updated deck plan anywhere that I can find.

From what I have read. VIP gaming is now a Crooner's style lounge. Vista gaming lounge is more like Club Fusion. Burgers are available at the grill. Pizza is available at Alfredo's. You may have difficulty finding many bars to sit at, but the Crown Grill Bar is there as well as Vines and the Lobby Bar. I think I heard that pizza by the slice is available, not sure.

Yes, see this video from February 2020 -  Crooners from 6:36 and the Lobster Grill menu from 17:05

That was the set up when we cruised on the Majestic from Sydney except that pizza by the slice wasn't available.  The Lobster Grill had burgers and the usual grilled items on the menu.  Unless they publish changes on the deck plans, I don't think any of us will know what changes will be made until someone boards on July 25th and provides a report.

Several threads about the Majestic recently. One dealt with that you ask, but I can't find it now to direct you.  I don't agree with the word, updated. More like removing the Majestic's distinctiveness.

Basically, skynight has the same info as me, but as to the thread:

The essence was that the Karaoke lounge was repurposed, whether removed or downsized was not certain. Changed to a bar.  No mention of the Gong Cha Cafe, a Boba drink place. But with Boba, a tapioca product made in Thailand, there has been no supply anyway.

Other eateries were noted open as before, but grill items, burgers and such, are supposed to be available at the Lobster and Dim Sum bar. Lobster and Dim Sum is a charge, don't know how they'll work burgers now. Chopsticks Noodle Bar no charge, Boba tea a charge.

Duck is the specialty at Harmony, and it is the same charge as the other specialty dining choices.

Interior signage is in English and Chinese. Chinese characters on the exterior livery have been painted over.

I may be incorrect in some information. Perhaps someone with better knowledge will contribute.

I'm booked on the Majestic for its first post-Alaska sailing in early October (fingers crossed!). I plan to read the cruise critic member reviews of the July-through-September Alaska sailings, which should answer some, and maybe all, of the questions we have about the ship. The early 2020 videos sure do make the ship look beautiful, but who knows what changes may have been made in the past year and a half?

The Majestic Princess is my favorite of the Royal Class ships, mostly because of the covered Conservatory Pool area.  None of the Royal Class ships offer extensive covered outdoor viewing areas (which are really needed in Alaska); however, the Conservatory, when we were in the fjords of New Zealand, offered an adequate alternative (unless the windows become so rained streaked as to become useless). Our major issue with the ship was the horrendous WiFi, which should now be corrected with the installation of MedallionNet.

Any word on updating/revising the Hollywood Conservatory, ie., the noisy all-age Sanctuary?  The upscale shops that were pretty much out of everyone's price range?  The Ocean Terrace Juice Bar?

We really liked the Hollywood Beach Club and the Chinese and Asian guests had no problem shopping in the onboard stores when we were on her maiden voyage from Rome to China's Xiamen City.  Remember, at the time Princess turned the Majestic over to the Chinese government the first year for Chinese bookings only so that was part of the theme of the ship.  To us there were very few things different from the Royal or Regal....it was a very memorable cruise with all of the cross cultural activities and experiences.....it looked like the casino did very well on that cruise with the large amounts of money being bet every night by Asian players.......

The Hollywood Beach Club did look pretty nice, and on the cruise I went on, it was the location for the late-night disco.  It's the adjoining Conservatory, located where the Sanctuary is on other ships, that really seems like it should be changed now that the MP is ending its exclusivity arrangement six months a year with China.  Same thing with the casino, the karaoke rooms, and the high-end shops, which seem more tailor-made for attracting East Asian "whales" than the typical Princess cruiser.

On ships with Skywalker's lounge, they would have pre-dinner appetizers. Does anyone know where and if they have it on the Majestic? Thanks

It was in the Vista Lounge (which we called the Vista-less Lounge, because it has no views).

I am so anxious and excited to get on a ship again that I might even consider drinking ship champagne!

Thank you all for letting me know about the Majestic and the new things and the old familiar things. I must be patient until October. It will be well worth the wait

Very easy to change what items are sold and the price points to match the passenger demographic. These shops most likely are empty right now with supplies arriving shortly before the initial sailing.

what no lobster and champagne pool side for you 🤨

Plenty of places to expand our waistlines: (my favorites highlighted)

Plaza Deck 5: Vines & IC
Fiesta Deck 6: Good Spirits & Alfredos
Promenade Deck 7: Bistro Sur la Mer & Ocean Terrace Bar
Lido Deck 16: Swirls, Chopsticks Noodle Bar, Lobster & Burgers, Seaview Bar, Marketplace, Wakeview Bar (where our 8/16 M&G is)

Oddly it appears that Crooners is now part of the casino

I saw what appears to be an updated plan in my medallion app attached to my 8/15 cruise

Sorry, nothing can make me drink ship "fake" champagne!!!

Which is why I will gladly pay an extra $5 ($15->20 corkage, hoping the line about up to 750ml ignores when I bring on 2 @ 375ml but will pay whatever) to get what I want
