Having only cruised once before with Princess I wasn't sure and so of course chose 11 since our flight isn't until 3 PM. Can someone advise what the latest time is to disembark, I have a feeling I am going to have to call them and amend the time. We are not Platinum or Elite so no special status. TIA someone posted this on the second day of the cruise:

Maybe someday we will be will be able to personalize it on the medallion app so they don't need a second trip. Not really. It is very efficient to place the exact same thing in every cabin that gets it than to deal with with different setups for different cabins on a very busy day. I suspect most people do not do any swap, so it may not be that much work to do the swaps for those who want one. The only efficient swap I can envision being done in advance is swapping out the mini-bar for two coffee packages. As that means nothing has to be delivered to the cabins that want that swap. 4
Thrak Posted August 2, 2021 #1403 Share Posted August 2, 2021 I have a question about the disembarkation lounge. We usually grab a table and there is water, juice, coffee, etc. available while we wait. I've even taken a split of champagne with me and made Mimosas using the OJ they had available. Was there anything of the sort available?

I am not sure how many passengers do a swap out. I do. I call and let them know what I want in exchange. I place my note and all that I am swapping out on the tray above the refrigerator. If no moneys are involved, they usually came in when I was out of the room. In my opinion, this way is less labor intensive. I’m confused. I’ve never seen a shrink wrapped bar set in 16 sailings in mostly suites.

By the time you get to your cabin, room service has unwrapped the contents. There were a few times that the mini-bar arrived after I checked in to the stateroom. Also happened when I did several b2b2bs and they delivered the additional mini bar while I was in the cabin. Generally, they only have one set up per cruise at a time. If you are in a suite, then they set up the first one (one for suite/one for elite) and bring the other later (shrink wrapped). It makes it easier to stack on the cart for delivery. I have a photo somewhere (lost in old computer files) where I had lots of mini bar set ups, champagne splits, and a "won" bottle of champagne. It was a hoot to have so much liquor all at one time. AND I don't drink (much). Don't know if this is the norm, but that's how I saw them. 6

It was $115 and correct there was no galley tour. They did not offer any behind the scene tours at all. I do not know if they will be able to bring them back as I did not ask. It was worth every penny. I posted menu with wine and a few pics. Even though on our sailing the photographers were not allowed in the dining rooms Neville did manage to get clearance for the chef table. The ship photographers could not do the customary group photo (Neville used my phone for a group pic of us seated at the table I posted as well). The ship photographers did take individual pics of each group of travel partners with chef and Neville. We did get those at the end of the meal. They are a nice keepsake. 4

I’m sorry I don’t know. I was not aware of any international pax on board. Dan would ask who came the farthest for the trip in some of the game shows he hosted and it would always be NY or Texas or some other US location.

There is no reason a Canadian could not be on the Alaska voyages. Need to fly, so kind of a pain for anyone in Vancouver area who would normally drive over. IDK about last week, but I have seen some Canadian posters who have/had plans for upcoming voyages. But there is a kink in the works for Canadians who received mixed vaccine dosages vis a vis Princess accepting them as fully-vaccinated.

The following information is on the Princess website in the FAQ section. Yes, if a negative COVID-19 test is required for re-entry into your home country, Princess will cover the costs of a COVID-19 test administered onboard the ship within the timeframe required prior to travel and prior to the end of the voyage. Guests will receive a copy of the test results. Guests are encouraged to review their home country’s health authority and travel websites to understand the latest guidance on required testing and timing for return travel.

Some of my questions were answered and even though we are not cruising until next April I will be watching (reading) all the lives until then. I am sure the MC is going to evolve and grow. When I sailed on the Island Princess once, rough seas prevented them from offering the galley portion of the chef's table. They ended up serving the items we would have had in the galley at the table. They knocked back the price to the nonalcoholic price for us. And best of all, we got a personalized tour with the food and beverage manager later during the cruise. We saw parts of the galley and stores that we would not have seen--places usually only seen by passengers on the ultimate ship's tour. I love the idea of individual photos instead of a big group photo. No matter how nice our dining companions are, I'd rather have a photo of just the two of us with the chef and maitre d'. vivian02 Posted August 2, 2021 #1422 Share Posted August 2, 2021 Here is some taxi information for those wanting it. We walked out of the Terminal at Sea Tac on arrival and just followed the "Taxi" signs..... did not have to wait for a taxi at 10:40 AM. It was about a 35 minute drive to Pier 91 with a cost of $64. We took a taxi again when leaving Pier 91. We waited maybe 6 or 7 minutes to get a taxi back to Sea Tac with a full price of $44. Do remember this cruise was sailing at probably 60% capacity and was the only ship at Pier 91 on departure. When things get back to normal I am sure it will be more of a "mad house". Once again this cruise was wonderful. Tim 3
