July 25, 2021 Live From Majestic Princess Alaska sailing

Recommended Posts

My family is also sailing on the 7

25 trip.  We just left port.  This is my first princess cruise.

Check in was easy and quick.  We picked up our medallions at the peir.  I figured my daughter's would like something different for their medallion tags, so I ordered air tag holders which hold the medallion, we will see how long they last.

Many of the bars don't have menus out. They have QR codes.

Here is the first day patter.  They are have some activities.

The medallion app is having issue and they are still working on them.

Don’t see any Crooners on the Patter. I know the Magestic wasn’t built with a Crooners due to target market but also read the the vip area in the the Casino may be converted? Wondering if there is a piano bar?

Love the new way to do safety drill. It was so easy.

We were taken right to our room, probably because it was the first cruise.   We watched the film and then went to explore the ship and went to the muster station.

The draw back is as you walk along all the muster stations they keep asking if you want to register at the muster station.  Then the captain went over the safety features before sail away also.

Wow!  Seeing her pull out.

No Prime Rib on embarkation night?

Totally noticed the same exact thing about the prime rib. That's like a princess Staple on the first night.

Sounds like everything went quite smoothly boarding the Majestic Princess today. So happy to see the Princess Patter is back in paper form. Have a wonderful cruise this week to Alaska. We will be following along with a lot of interest and really happy Princess is back on the high seas again!!!

Cheers - Ken & Darlene

No fettucine on the favorites side?  My husband will be heart broken!

It's actually above where the pasta is. So when you look under the pasta menu they'll have their daily special and fettuccine alfredo is always listed.

Masks on board ?

The crew is all masked. Majority of pax are not. We wore ours around at the beginning until we felt comfortable. Would you believe today was the first sit down restaurant service meal we’ve had since March 2020? That was crazy to think of!

I'd miss the prime rib although at times it hasn't been all that snazzy. I did see 3 starters I'd like though. 😁I've never had Princess Southern Fried Chicken. I have to wonder how well they do with that. Also, I like to eat my fried chicken with my fingers. I'm unsure how the other diners would feel...

Can you all get a sense of how full the ship is?  Did sailaway seem as crowded as it would have been in the before times?

Sail away in the central fountain area was crowded, but as soon as you stepped away from the movie screen view it was wide open. We are definitely not as packed as other cruises.

Here’s a sample view of how you can order things for your cabin. I realized just a few minutes ago that our pre ordered robes weren’t here, so I’m requesting them now.
Pillows, towels etc are all here.

Oh I absolutely love this that they added The State room laundry collection and the turn down right on there. I wonder if you place an order for one of those two services if it's within a few minutes that they come to do it or if you just do it in advance.

So Turndown Service must be requested each night if you want it done?

Edit: Please let us know if turndown service includes the Princess chocolates on the pillow.
