Well, it has been as hectic a day as expected or even a bit more.  The rehab went as well as could be expected.  I had walked on my own.  At rehab I would normally start with 20 minutes on the treadmill and then another 20 on a stationary bike.  Since I had walked they were ready for me to spend my time there on the bike.  I had to forgo the weights I would normally do for times sake and made it to the dentist's office with 7 minutes to spare.

The Endo indicated a root canal was appropriate for my situation and it could wait for 3 months after the surgery.  We did it pretty quickly after that scheduled for August 17 (Operation was May 14).

Buying groceries was quick and then it was just cool enough to take my Panera soup to an outdoor table,  I got home, had the rest of lunch, put the groceries away, and headed for the pharmacy to fill the prescription the Endo wrote.

I had hoped to be free by now but got the word that my church finance chair is calling a "brief" finance meeting at 4--famous last words.

Roy

Good news on the dental work, Roy.  Glad it can wait and hopefully the prescription fixes things up.  Glad you are not losing the tooth.

LOL on the “brief” meeting.  I know exactly what you mean by those famous last words 😉

I've just skimmed quickly today.  (Out defending my garden from DH with the clippers!)

So many beautiful photos of Malaga.  We visited October 2017 on Westerdam and I want to add one other thing, in case anybody who enjoys art ends up there.

The Picasso museum is the one most people hit, but what we enjoyed a great deal more was the Museo Carmen Thyssen.  I'll just quote myself from my journal, so you can see what I mean.

"What we really enjoyed was Museo Carmen Thyssen.  It is the collection of a countess, and she put together an amazing collection of Spanish art.  I really had little experience with Spanish art, other than the Goyas or El Grecos, which are dark and moody, or religious art, which also can be dark and moody.  The countess's pictures were amazingly detailed, lovely vignettes of Spanish life & landscapes.  So beautiful.  There wasn't a single one that I wouldn't love to own.  Very special collection."

@Lady Hudson, Happy Anniversary!

@kazu Your garden is lovely!

@smitty34877, thank you for another photo of Miss Camilla.  She's beautiful and prayers she is home soon!

@cat shepard  Big fat bummer!  Welcome home, though, and prayers that you heal quickly!

@JazzyV, prayers and good vibes coming your way tomorrow!

@rafinmd, prayers and fingers crossed for a simple, uncomplicated tooth!

Thank yoooouu, @TiogaCruiser, for keeping the wine glasses full.

Wishing all a safe and happy summer day.

Maxine

Malaga is one of our favourite destinations while on a cruise we must have been there about 8 or 9 times now made a couple of  fantastic tours to Granada to go to the Alhambra , and also a couple of tours through Malaga itself and saw the Alcazaba , the Cathedral and the Castle of Gibralfaro .

After doing all of that we have done a few Tapas in Malaga tours ,  four times now to different non touristic locations where the Spaniards go for their most delicious tapas and our guide is a young lady , Laura , who grew up in Canada quite close to us , she met her Spanish husband at the university of Toronto and now lives in Malaga .
So I have lots and lots of photos , touristic high lights and a lot of food porn . I will try to control myself and not duplicate too much of what Jacqui @kazu or Ann @VictOriann already have shown .

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

Great days. I like Daiquiris, raspberry cake and new friends (like I've found on the Daily)!

Good quote.

I'll pass on the seafood meal, but take the drink and wine.

I've been to Malaga, Spain but on a land trip not a cruise.

It's partly sunny, but we're getting some haze from the smoke from the fires out west. Blows me away to think it can travel this far!

I just got the call from the surgery center. I'm scheduled for 10:45 tomorrow, but have to be there an hour and a half before that.

@Lady Hudson Happy Anniversary!

@mamaofami So great to spend time with family.

@grapau27 Lovely pictures.

@smitty34877 Nice picture of Miss Camilla.

@rafinmd Good luck with the dental issues.

@cat shepard Welcome back, but oh no on the cast! Prayers for a speedy recovery.

@Cruising-along I hope your cousin is able to get a new kidney soon.

@atexsix I'm glad your back is somewhat better. Good luck fighting the insurance company!

@Horizon chaser 1957 Lovely printing.

Prayers for the care list and cheers to the celebration list.

Stay well everyone.

Thanks for your kind thoughts, have a good day!

OK - I've discovered this is a dangerous group to hang out with! After the recent discussion of the NA's repositioning cruise in October, I'm seriously considering signing on the SD to FLL segment. This would be my first solo trip, so I'd like to hear any thoughts & advice you might have before I book it. Thanks!

@cat shephard welcome back! Sorry to hear about your injury though.

Miss Camilla continues to take those "baby steps" towards home - yay!

Cheers to all who are celebrating and prayers to those that need them.

If you're ready for that step, go for it.   I've done a couple solo cruises and both were great.  On the first one a woman I had met on a previous cruise was in the Roll Call and we connected and did dinner together most nights and some excursions.   I also met people at the Meet and Greet and got together with some of them from time to time.  On the second one I went to the singles and solos meet up the first night and met a woman I hung out with for most of the cruise.  She was nervous about eating in the MDR, so I met her for dinner the next night and we went from there.

You can find people to hang out with or you can have some solitude if you wish that.

Here's to a great solo cruise for you!

I enjoyed my day back in Malaga. Thanks to all that stirred my memory of calling on this beautiful port of call.

Makes me crave for Tapas tonight!🍷

I’ll have to resort to my second choice of making a homemade pizza tonight along with a salad.

DW returns tomorrow night and I plan on making a Southwest Grilled Shrimp salad with grilled fresh corn, avocado, tomatoes and special dressing.

Low and behold it’s a Betty Crocker recipe that is very good.

Definitely not a dish for Roy but with our caught last night fresh Gulf shrimp it’s delicious.😊

I'm pleased to say that today for the first time in ages, I haven't had to sign in to CC over and over all day long.  In fact, I can't remember having to sign in more than once.  Let's hope they've figured out what the problem is and corrected it.  Even if it didn't happen for everyone, those of us who had issues with it are eternally grateful.

Now watch, it will be back to signing in 10 times an hour tomorrow.  Just my luck!

Who would thunk that Betty Crocker had a recipe like that.

Looks very nice.  I know she will appreciate it 😉

I think I've been to Malaga 3 times on 3 very different ships.   First was 2012 on a Celebrity Solstice transatlantic.  That time I went about 45 minutes East for a tour of the "Caves of Nerja."   It was a strenuous tour where I climbed about 150 steps after remembering to start counting:

Nerja is fabulous as is Midas, Benalmadena, etc.

We stayed in Malaga area for two weeks long ago and we explored everything.  You had a fabulous day there, I’m sure 🙂

My second visit to Malaga was on a 2015 transatlantic on the Allure of the Seas.  On that voyage I visited Mirabella, about 30 miles West of Malaga.  It rained and I don't have much from the tour but we shared the port with the Zuiderdam (with Captain Albert aboard) and for once I felt a bit of a one up on Captain Albert.  He noted in his blog that we docked pointed towards town, claiming we were too big and clumsy to back in.  There may have been a nugget of truth to that but I had a different impression.  Boarding the monster is done one of two ways, either through the jogging track on the lifeboat or by a hatch at on the bottom deck leading to an escalator to the lowest public deck.  There's only an escalator on the starboard side and the passages from the gates on the jogging track to the interior only line up on the starboard side, making a gangway on the port side very awkward.  I was left feeling I had a better handle on our positioning than Captain Albert did.
