Actually, the ship is really REALLY quiet right now. Don’t know if everyone is still off on tours or just hiding in their cabins trying to stay warm. Weather is miserable. We have our heat turned all the way up and it’s still cold.

This is you, right now...

Time to test the mixologists on blending the perfect warming drink.  Here are some.

The casino will lock your account if you go into the casino and get money on your card through the slot machine, but do not play a substantial part of it through the machine.  This is to protect against non gamblers getting free money by using the casino to get cash to fund their trip instead of using an atm for a cash advance.  The casino does not charge cash advance fees.  Instead it just shows as a casino charge on your overall folio.  People used to do this a lot so they did not have to travel with a lot of cash, but still get cash for use on shore.  She just needs to go to the casino cage and explain what happened.  It happens to me as I am a machine jumper.  I will charge 100 and only play 20 on one machine and cash out which transfers the $$ back to my card so I can go to another machine.  Sometimes they lock my card until they learn that I am a machine jumper and do gamble the full amount.

What would happen if you transfer $$$ (that you purchased as OBC under On Board Services) from your cruise account to a casino accounts.  Played some and let it sit in your account until the last night when you have to cash out your account.

Then you simply cash out - I suggest the night before the cruise ends rather than waiting for disembarkation day.

What does this mean? Can someone explain further please?

Now I can. Apparently the casino is preventing people from using the casino as an ATM.

I asked the cashier to load my account with the players $20s but he couldn't (or wouldn't?). So we pulled the money from my room account onto my casino account. Then we played 5× pulls (19 players 4 pulls each). But cash out right afterwards to disperse the remaining funds.  $11 to each player + $33 to the top player. Plus the 3 top players still standing there each got a tshirt.

HOWEVER because I cashed out within an hour (or so) the casino blocked me from drawing again from my room account the next time.

It's now fixed. What I should have done was hand fed the $20s & $1s into the machine.

Had I simply left the $s in my casino bank there wouldn't have been an issue

I’ve done that before once with no problem except I didn’t wait until the last night. I would have no problem doing that again.

What everyone did in the past may not be possible under this new times. Has anyone cruising on the 3 previous voyages experienced this or was it just me?

IMHO this is to prevent using the casino to obtain cash from non-refundable OBC. I only had 100 of that, everything else was refundable and gratuities will be >100

An acquaintance of mine was on last week.  He always tries to use the casino to refund his nonrefundable obc, and apparently was not able to do it this time.  He was apparently able to get the refundable portion, but was told that he couldn't have the nonrefundable.    I told him it was about time Princess stopped this!  Use it onboard or lose it.

I looked up the little boat in front. It's the "DreAMBoat"--Arthur M. Blank's 295-foot yacht. He's the co-founder of the Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons. It's a modest little $180 million vessel with room for 23 guests and 33 crew members.

Wondered who's yacht that was. Huge.

Forgot to say I put the 360 back on my account. My note was really for future slot pull organizers.

Singer tonight is bad. Flat effect. Violinists have been great.

Safe needs new batteries.

Off to casino. 🎰

We are back on the ship and out of the rain.

We have had the same table for 2 with the same wait staff every night so far.  We just politely asked to be taken to the same table and we were accommodated.

I would say 98% of people are adhering to the mask requirements.  If you are seated in a venue eating or drinking you can remove your mask.  Many people had drinks at the meet and greet - maybe this is why they were unmasked.

@Steelers36you might be interested in this. I was credited 50% of the wifi cost. Expected. But then I have an additional credit:

"Mednet Loyalty Discount 13.99"

Maybe this is a replacement for the old loyalty credit after 20 cruise credits?

Lastly: find a cruiser isn't working for me. I have linked my booking with tablemates & PVP (who is on this voyage). It keeps trying to find my granddaughters who will be on my April 2022 voyage.

My favorite post so far about the app on board.

@sfkaren  you mentioned there were no UBD this cruise.  Can you clarify if you had already pre-booked and they cancelled you or if you were attempting to book on the ship?    If you prebooked, did they give you the complementary specialty dining?  Thank you so much.

We had not pre-booked, we tried to book once we were on the ship.

If you like your serving team, I'm sure it will be possible to request them for every night, especially at 5:00 PM.  Just speak with the hostess or one of the captains.  They will make it happen.  That's exactly one of the reasons we consistently chose the 6:20 PM dining.

Did you select this night by night or with the option to book the same dining room every night at same time?

If selecting night by night (7 different requests for a 7 night cruise) I do not think that is considered a request for the same table and waitstaff.

How did you get the same wait staff? Jerry booked the week for all 6 if us @ 6:40 pm but its been a different table every night so far. All great but definitely not how you got it. What are we doing wrong?

What you did should not trigger a lock. What triggers a lock is going to the cashier and getting cash for all or a big part of what the machine put on your account when you left the last machine.

It looks like Ombud needed the cash to pay the winners of the slot pull and the computer thought that was an attempt to use the casino as an ATM.

I have this credit as well $13.99.  I have not taken 20 cruises yet.  But, I haven’t been credited for 50% off the WiFi package.  Tried to talk to guest services about it, but they claimed to not know what we were talking about.  Will try again.

Yes, we got a notice from Princess before our August 8th cruise that masks would be required in ports and that's what we did!

To clarify, masks are not required in the open air outdoors, correct?  I think all that is really expected is to follow local protocols.

That type of OBC is refundable, so no "casino tricks" required.

You have to cash out before the casino closes on the last night before cruise ends because the casino is closed by the time the ship is in port and you cannot get the funds on disembarkation day.  IDK if there is some exception situation if a lot of money was left inadvertently, but seem to recall reading about one person who managed to get it back somehow (details escape me).
