New Back2Back protocol

I'm on the Sept 26 - Oct 10 B2B.  I've had my cabin booked for two years, same cabin so I wouldn't have to pack up between weeks.  Last week, Royal moved me to a totally different cabin for the first week.

So, I'll be packing/unpacking 4 times during the 2 weeks.  This is getting very crazy.  Not to mention that I'm not a spring chicken to lug my two weeks worth of clothe around.  Will there be porters to help us haul our stuff around?

I did the same with choosing my check-in time for the second week, chose later as to not take an early spot because I figured I'd already be on the ship so no worries.  What happened to testing us on the next to the last night?

Yes, I just want to cruise, but this is getting harder & harder to say.

A passenger currently aboard Adventure of the Seas out of Nassau reports that according the the suite concierge there are no changes for B2B handling on Adventure. B2Bers stay aboard and continue to report to the Dining Room on deck 5; testing had previously moved from Saturday on turnaround day to Friday, the morning before, and I presume that remains the case.

People may talk quite a bit about it here, but, B2Bs are quite rare in the overall number of cruisers.

Though a Small, Vocal number on here have changed back multiple things on Royal in last 5+ yrs. Not counting on this one but hoping

I am on Odyssey  now and doing a B2B2B.  We switch on Saturday. We have an appt tomorrow morning to get tested and have been told we do not need to take our bags…

We have a B2B booked for Oct 23rd and 31st on Odyssey.  Booked three day ago, and verified twice that any and all required  testing would be done on board at no expense to us.

Just got notice that B2Bcruisers must pack up, carry bags off, be tested, and then if OK you can reboard (as a new cruiser (I guess)).  I don't know why they couldn't test the B2B'ers on Saturday on the ship or at the least have them pack but leave bags in the room and then if you fail the test someone could escort you back to your room to pick up the bags............ I am very tempted to cancel.  We NEVER carry our bags off and it will be very difficult to manage after packing for 2 or more weeks.  I am livid.

Yes that is what we have been told as well.

I have a B2B scheduled for Oct 1. If these rules remain in place, I just won’t unpack. It does say, depending on departure port. Maybe Seattle will get lucky.  I will live out of my packing cubes, and buy booze from the first leg, and expect it to be delivered, the night before I HAVE to disembark 🙄. Since I’m leaving from close to home, will have my daughter drive down and pick it up, and stock up some more on 2nd leg....to much OBC to let go to waste, and I do want the double points. 🍸

What's even more insulting is the email they sent begins with "We're excited to welcome you onboard for your back-to-back sailing."  Then they detail how they plan to make it as difficult as possible and end with "We look forward to having you aboard for multiple sailings!  Sincerely, Royal Caribbean."

I can't believe that they left out the part about this "enhancing your experience"...

Unfortunately, October is a long time from now. Protocols can (most likely... will) change numerous times before you sail. I wouldn’t hold as the gospel anything said to you today, for a cruise 2 months from now.

Totally agree with above post by BND. We are on Mariner B2B in mid September. Doing four nights then three nights in same cabin. I see no reason that the few consecutive cruisers who may be on board could not be tested on the ship the day before the second cruise begins. Looks like we will cancel both legs. Too much trouble to pack and repack for a few days. Will wait a few more days to see if this remains a requirement.

We have 4 B2B cruises booked between our 9/12 Allure B2B and the last on Brilliance New Years week.  Three of these B2B are on Royal and the other on Celebrity’s Edge.  I too think this new procedure is asinine and will give serious thought to canceling the second cruise on each ship should this moronic terminal testing with luggage procedure not be rescinded.  Royal seems to be doing everything they can to discourage loyalty lately.

Apparently Laly Rodriguez at Royal is telling people who emailed Michael Bayley to ignore the email that was sent earlier and that a new message was being drafted.

This is like the 5th covid era screw up from whatever department writes up their content for explaining new protocols

You have to marvel at the ability of those writing, reviewing, and approving these communications to keep their jobs.
