Ok, my good news:

On Tuesday Tim, a friend, came over briefly to look at my lower kitchen cabinets.  The lowest shelf had warped badly and everything in the cabinet always slides to the center and creates a huge mess.  It is now creating that huge mess on the countertops and dining room table.  Anyways, I need some help ripping out that bottom shelf.  I think I can get the replacement in on my own as I will do it in pieces.  So, Tim stopped by.  When he got there I met him outside and because he is still teaching and exposed to everything kids drag in, including COVID, we agreed we should wear masks inside.  So, we did.  He was supposed to come back yesterday to rip it out, but he didn't.

He called last night and told me he might have exposed me to COVID.  His son had been over on Sunday and had just called and said he had gotten tested and was waiting on results.  Tim said he was going to get tested today and would call me with results.  My heart sank to my feet.  I am so close to that cruise!

Well, Tim just called.  He tested negative!   YES!   I feel like I just won the lottery!   Celebration tonight!

Sorry you had this covid19 worry before your cruise but great news your friend was negative.

Take care and stay safe.

Graham.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

A salute to VJ Day. I like coconut milk in drinks and recipes, but can't tolerate shredded coconut (it's a texture thing). Calendar Day, had to be shocking to lose 11 days.

Great quote.

The meal sounds interesting as a side. I like the drink (it goes down so well, lol) and wine.

I have been to Greece, but not to Crete. Thanks for the pictures.

I'm really late today. The morning got away from me, then I had my eye check for glasses. I ordered new glasses. My are they expensive once they add in all the extras!

It is so nice today, for a change. It was only 57 this morning; now mid 70's, sunny, and low humidity. Luckily it looks like our rivers won't crest above flood stage, so that's a plus. Many have flooding in their houses just from runoff and creeks jumping their banks.

@CM1984 Welcome to the Daily.

@cat shepard Great news on not needing the brace, and starting PT.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Happy Anniversary!

@mamaofami So sorry to hear about the fall. Be careful and turn on lights if needed.

@CrabbyPatti Sorry to hear about DS's Covid test. I hope everyone else is negative.

@smitty34877 Cute DGC! And sad to hear about flooding that you have.

@StLouisCruisers What a handsome young man. Happy Birthday to him.

@sailingdutchy How terrible the flooding sounds where your daughter is. Hoping everyone there stays safe.

@atexsix Bon Voyage!

@Sharon in AZ Your breakfast looks yummy.

@Cruising-along Great news on your DS and DDIL moving closer to you next year.

@durangoscots Wishing you a speedy recovery. My BFF has an upcoming basal cell removal close to the eye and they want him to consult an oculoplastics surgeon also.

@JAM37 Sorry your DH isn't feeling well today. Maybe if he took it every other day? Although the newer sleep aides are less addicting. Maybe he needs to talk to his doctor about it.

@dfish Whew! You didn't need that scare.

@Seasick Sailor Great news on saving $$$.

Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

Stay safe and wear your mask. Apparently there's already mu variant here, ugh.

We played hookie this afternoon and took a ride in the country, but it was too hot to put the top down.  It was nice to get out of the house for something other than to go to the store.  Even without a cruise planned, we're trying to avoid unnecessary exposure to Covid.

@dfish  Debbie, I'm glad your neighbor's test was negative.  Maybe you should spend sometime in the casino on your cruise.

@bennybear  Brenda, thank you for your pictures of Crete.  They were lovely.

@Sharon in AZ  Glad your cruise is going well.  Thanks for the pictures.

@cat shepard  Good news you can ditch the brace in the house and will start therapy.

@durangoscots  Sorry your surgery took long.  It was nice of your neighbor to come looking for you and arranged to get your car home.

@Cruising-along  What great news! That calls for and extra glass of wine or even popping the cork on a bottle of bubbly.

@JAM37  Julia, I'm sorry your DH is feeling bad again.  Rest and a good night's sleep is important for his recovery.  The PM pills do help, and short term, they are not bad.  Another thing to try is Melatonin, which also aids in getting a good night's sleep.

@Seasick Sailor  Joy, congratulations on saving so much on your cruise.

@bennybear I want that tomato and cucumber salad.  Oh my goodness does that look good!  I am sure I could do a decent job of replicating it.

@durangoscots Good neighbors are worth their weight in gold.   Wishing you quick healing.

@kazu Be careful with the flooding.  And, yes, this is the precise time a car decides to act up.

@Cruising-along What wonderful news!   I can tell you are beyond thrilled.

Thanks Deb!  If anyone could it would be you!  The only issue you will have is the quality of ingredients. They  have such delicious tomatoes that taste like tomatoes,  and a very creamy local  feta,  one place the olive  oil was from the tree we were sitting under!

I will add my good news.

I have now graduated to full range of motion. No need for the brace inside the house - whoopie! And I start 4 weeks of therapy 3x/week tomorrow morning.

Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes!

I will check my weight tomorrow morning, and see if I am 2 pounds lighter.😉

Woo Hoo 🙂. I know how good it feels to get that brace off and I’m sure you will be 2 pounds lighter

I’m doing this for you

Oh, as I am still exploring and learning this site...

I tried twice to save a signature and it has not saved. Any suggestions/tips. Is the signature only for email and not posts?

Thank you for being patient with me.

The signature is for posts - not for emails although I have inserted an “email me” link in mine for my roll calls.

Where are you stuck?

I’m assuming you have found the signature spot.

Just to be sure. - this is mine - click account settings.

Then click signature and you get this - yours will be blank but I have a signature already 😉

Once you are there you can add  anything you want as long as you don’t exceed image limit.  Then scroll down and click save

CC has been having some burps lately so it may be CC.  Wait until tomorrow and try again if that doesn’t work.

My email is in my signature so if I can help just email me if that doesn’t work.  We’ll figure it out.

@kazu thank you. I did find the signature spot. I tried even just one word and it did not save. So, I will try again tomorrow as you suggested. Thank you, again.

Happy to help.  CC has really been acting up.  When I wanted to add my latest spread sheet, it took a few times for it to take.  and I’ve been doing this for a while so it wasn’t lack of experience 😉

Hopefully CC is kinder to you tomorrow 🤞
