I got Elite on Princess by doing a lot of coastals.  Anytime either of us forgets a jacket, we end up with a new Princess branded one.  I also remember watching an outdoor movie one May night (7 pounds was the movie) bundled in my coat and 8 wool ship blankets and still being cold.  At that point, I figured outdoor movies were a much better idea in the Caribbean.

Just arrived in San Francisco exactly at 8:00 AM and the ship has been cleared.   It is a beautiful day and actually very mild out with no winds.    Should be a nice day for a visit.

We decided to grab a train home for a little visit.   The CalTrain Station is straight down the Embarcadero and past the ball park.   It is approx 2 1/2 miles.   Took us about an hour and the train was leaving 1 minute after we arrived.

Iain use to work in SF so far s very experienced with CalTrain.   Iain calls me an eco-terrorist and this will be the first time in 60 years to take the train.   I’m like a littl kid exploring the train.

We are docked at Pier 35 today, which is the old wooden pier. They have the tour busses parked inside.

A marine layer came in and it got chilly so we put  on puffers.

Hop on Hop off busses out side terminal.  A great way to get the feel of the city.  Not sure why anyone would buy it from. Celebrity.

Sun burnt through the marine layer and puffers came off.   For San Francisco wearing clothing in layers is a must.

Next along our route is the Exploratorium and the Horn Blower Terminals for Bay Cruises and Alcatraz.  Both great tours.  Book early as they fill up.   Also passed the Ferry Terminal where you can grab a Ferry to Oakland, Sausalito and Tiberon.   About 1 mile from the ship.

At about the 2 mile point we came to the Ball Park.    They are busy getting ready for tomorrow’s final day of playoffs.

The city is really doing a deep cleaning.  Sidewalks are being steam cleaned and are spotless.

Looks like Chetan has a fan club.    He is a very engaging and delightful to talk with.    We chatted for about 10 minutes as I told him our schedule.   We leave our room at 9:00 and usually do our workouts until after lunch.

I always ask for a pitcher of Ice, No Canope and No Ice Tea.     He was happy to oblige and told me that due to Covid and Customer's lack of interest they had discontinued the Ice Tea for all guests.

I love tea, but that stuff was vile!

glad things going well...nice photos as always ( even the wooden pier!)

We  have enjoyed BLU over the years..nice to see some menu updates!

He did say people either loved it or hated it.

Thanks for the short video of Kyle Tacy!  We are looking forward to seeing him again.  If you see him on the ship, please tell him his Jim Croce lovers from Edge are looking forward to seeing him and his fiancée on the Panama Canal cruise!

Headed south on CalTrain.   Like a kid I wanted to sit upstairs.  Nice area for luggage or maybe a nap.

I took Metra to and from my job in downtown Chicago for nine years...always headed for the top floor.  Always fell asleep within minutes on the way to work (of course, it was 4:30am).  Working in the suburbs now and I still miss my morning train nap.  That car looks just like our Metra (the nice, new cars).

I will.   He has been playing in various venues throughout the ship.    He has been doing a lot of John Denver.

The chocolate cake in Blu was my demise. I don’t usually have dessert but I had it every night.

I’ll have to give it a try.   Last night I had the Apple Crisp and Iain ordered an extra spoon.

it was piping hot and really yummy
