Diamond Lounge Coffee

Recommended Posts

I’m Diamond, my niece sharing cabin with me is not, can we both go to Diamond lounge together for coffee?  On Celebrity, where the classification is elite, I can bring her to events.  Thanks for any information!

Not technically. Will anyone stop her? Unlikely.

Royal Caribbean does not give reciprocal benefits to the person you are sharing your cabin with as some other lines do.  The Diamond lounge is not very busy in the morning, other than those who like the coffee machine.  If you bring her there and the concierge is there, you both might be asked to show your cards proving you have access.

Royal doesn't allow it.  I don't get the obsession with the coffee in the DL.  It's just barely okay.

Free cappuccino every morning from the DL is one of my favorite perks. Different strokes...

It's still barely drinkable lol.  I'd rather buy a mocha.

Bring her on. No one will take any notice.

I cruised with someone diamond and I could get coffee when the ambassador wasnt in there but at night they checked ID if they didnt know you were diamond. I couldnt go in.

She can go to top tier event and such. It's you plus a guest. Diamond lounge is for those who earned it.

The concierge recognizes those that he/she has seen and verified but when someone new comes in, they can and do check, as they should.

why not just go in and make a couple of coffees and sit in the lounge outside and drink them. .. if it's a problem. I'd ask the diamond ambassador and see what they say. None of us here know tbh. Maybe it depends on how busy they are.

If a problem just get her coffees to go . I enjoy the cappuccino from DL. But many a cruise the coffee machine is broken.
Recently on Adventure DL coffee machine was broken and the Diamond girl informed me just show your Diamond card at Starbucks for cappuccino, Bingo!
I really enjoyed that.

Don’t go breaking machines!

But if broken ask?

I’d rather enjoy what I find very enjoyable for free, lol.

We love good coffee.  My preferred coffee is Jamaican Blue Mountain or a good Kona.  DL coffee is neither.  I also don't drink the "free" coffee onboard.  Every time we go to Jamaica we buy Blue Mountain for us and family.  The coffee machines in the lounges is only popular because people think they're getting something for free.

On our past two cruises 2021/2022, we had the deluxe drink pkg so often got coffee at Cafe Lattitudes, but we also got wonderful coffee at the DL.  We do like strong coffee and were able to get that at both Cafe Lattitudes and the DL...  I've had both Blue Mountain and Kona and they are a little milder and maybe "smoother", so while lovely, just not my particular preference.  As another poster said, "different strokes". 😊

I assume the DL's coffee machine is similar (if not identical) to the SL's?  I really enjoy the SL's machine.  I usually do a triple-espresso for myself, and a latte for my my wife each morning.  We really aren't coffee snobs, so just some good fresh beans are find with us.  Our "daily drinker" coffee comes from a Keurig machine.  I prefer the Newman's and my wife drinks flavored crap, so the lounge machines are a treat for us.

No.

But if you go and bring her into the DL for coffee, nobody really cares...no one will stop you. The DL concierge is usually there from 8am to 12 noon...he/she may stop you or warn you.

Hello,

The SL & DL coffee machines are a bit like computer programs - garbage in, garbage out.

DL this year on Anthem they were using Illy beans whereas in SL they were using Lavazza - and much better for it.

Both wrongly use regular milk when the machine's instruction clearly state to use semi-skimmed as the fat in regular milk clogs the machines arteries.

Sadly neither seem to be cleaned as regularly as I used to see on Indy/Adventure/Navigator/Explorer when in UK. The small excuse for a sink in the DL is totally useless for washing-out the brewing unit that might explain why it is not done.

Regards,

Cublet

Do they even have semi skimmed on RCL? I've asked for it in MDR and been told only skimmed or full fat, also never seen it in Windjammer.

ah, is it not free ?

That is tongue in cheek.  It's not free because nothing on board is really free.  Those who have become Diamond have paid a lot to get to that "free" coffee, among other things.
