What electronic items are there to buy on the ship?

I have way too much non-refundable OBC on my next cruise and already have Princess Plus. I have mostly private excursions.

 

I honestly never buy anything on the ship and will be forced to on this trip. I already have 2 Eco-drive Citzen's Watches. I now where my Apple Watch. I don't wear jewelry. I think I gave away 50 Princess coffee mugs when I moved last time.....

 

Are there any good electronic items on the ship worth purchasing. I wish they carried Kindles as mine is pretty outdated.

 

Any suggestions? I can only eat in speciality restaurants so many times.

I have seen cameras, some accessories  and GoPro devices. Also, not electronic but they sell binoculars as well.

I knew they had cameras - I was thinking Nikon brand? Is that right?

@Coral I think they have Nikon but I haven’t looked closely in the last year so they may have changed what they carry.

Just off the Island last week...they had the latest (I think) GoPro units in a display case.  A couple of years ago I attended one of the "seminars" (aka sales talk) on the current GoPro model.  I think it was the Hero 7? (Could be wrong...) Anyway, I was very impressed with the capabilities at that time but I just really didn't need that type of camera at the time.  Still don't really...but it sure was calling my name!

Walking by the display case, I recall seeing binoculars, GoPro (can't remember the version) and what looked like a couple of point & shoot cameras (don't know brand).  I didn't see any DSLRs.  This was on the  Island.   On other lines, I've seen Apple products for sale, but I didn't check at the Internet cafe so can't say if Princess sells them.

I wish they carried Apple products like Celebrity. This would then be a no-brainer!

Same here and we purchased our GoPro on the Star and the penguins in Falkland Islands were intrigued!

in the middle of this post there is a photo of the cameras they had on the Sapphire that I took for someone--I think they said the other ships had the newest GoPro...we had a hard time spending all our OBC too spent too much time wandering in the stores with nothing we wanted to even spend 'free' money on--lots of expensive purses, liquor (BIL now has a 10 year supply of liqours)...we did buy some adorable little Stanley USB drives with the last of it (but they were like $8 so don't use up OBC credit very fast)

well that doesn't seem to work to take you to the right post so here is the photo & text I wrote:

 

   The photo department here has 3 point & shoot cameras. I took a picture of them in the case. The yellow one on the bottom is an underwater one & was the most expensive (I am thinking in the $300 range but don’t remember exactly any of the prices…maybe the top one was about $70 & the middle one was in the middle). The guy there said there would be pretty much the same cameras across the fleet, all some of the ships have a newer go-pro.

on one sailing we had $500 OBC for the 5 of us (that's a lot - never had that much before), so we still had $50 left by the end of the cruise. I didn't realize that it could be used for tips, so I set out to spend it - I bought a lovely collection of 5 trial size bottles of Versace perfumes.

You could use them for Christmas/birthday presents if you don't want them for yourself.

You can, Charge the amount you want to your room on the machine. Spin once or twice. Press cashout and go to the cashiers window to get the cash.

I don't know if it is still Nikon they carry, but it was in 2014. DW hung her camera on a hook in a bathroom in a restaurant on land, and it fell. It turned out the camera was ok, but the lens was destroyed. It was a Nikon camera, and she was able to buy a new lens onboard.

 

(She actually in Edinburgh where this happened was able to actually watch the Scottish Military Tattoo instead of setting up shots with her camera constantly.)

On the Enchanted a few weeks ago, they had GoPros, binoculars, the usual Nikon cameras (Princess has always been very Nikon-centric) but also a few Canon cameras as well.  A  VERY limited selection, and I doubt the prices are anything worthwhile.  We also had tons of OBC to use up, especially given the extra they doled out in partial compensation for the three missed ports. We ended up spending the excess OBC on jewellery and a nice pair of Oakley sunglasses, as we both have far too many watches already

On the Sapphire on Christmas day 2018 our Sony camera broke while the kids were waiting in line to take pictures with Santa.  We had a ton on on board credits which is how my husband got his Leica camera!  So at that time they had cannon, Nikon, go pro and Leica, not sure what they may have now.

Does the cashing out via the slot machine always work? We have $650 non-refundable credit on an upcoming cruise. Would be great to be able to cash it out into hard cash!

You can...play a little (maybe 5 "pulls"), then cash out. You can even do it on successive days.

Yea - my tips are paid for. I am one that is hugely allergic to perfumes so know nothing about them. Not even sure who wears these (not in my common conversations). Though there maybe other gift ideas.

I can’t imagine buying an electronic device on a ship or just about anything else for that matter. Last cruise, I played a game of Blackjack on the TV in my cabin and then cashed out. Might explain why Princess is trying to attract new younger cruisers.
