Rare SLOTheta Posted October 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2022 My husband and I will be on our first Celebrity Cruise over Thanksgiving. We’ve been on Holland and looking forward to trying this cruise line. There are 2 specialty dining options Murano (French) and Tuscan Grille (Italian). Both sample menus look delicious. We live in California and lucky to have a wide variety of restaurants and great options to select from. What would you recommend if you only had to pick one? Thanks! Northern Aurora Posted October 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Having been on Solstice a number of times, including a pair of B2Bs the year alone, I recommend Murano with no doubt.
jagoffee Posted October 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) Murano if only doing one. Always been a special evening for us. Edited October 17, 2022 by jagoffee
Rare SLOTheta Posted October 17, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Thank you both for your prompt replies! I was slightly leaning towards Murano, since I love French food. Thank you for the push

Honestly, you won’t regret it… Murano is a fine dining venue with some table side presentation. Ideal on a sea day when you are fresh and can enjoy a meal at a leisurely pace. It does feel special. Food wonderful! Tuscan Grill overlooks the wake of the ship. Book an early time to secure a window seat. Book it on a day you are leaving a port at 5/6pm…Be perusing the menu as the ropes come off. Be sipping your drink and enjoying your starter as the port fades into the distance. Enjoy your entree as the sun begins to set and be sipping a liqueur and enjoying dessert as day becomes night. Quite magical. The food isn’t bad either! A typical Italian selection of decent steak and pasta… Edited October 17, 2022 by chemmo
jelayne Posted October 17, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Food in Tuscan can be hit or miss. Murano is our favorite.
Cruise a holic Posted October 17, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2022 We also would vote for Murano. However, sometimes you can get a "special" rate the first and last day of the cruise and you might want to try Tuscan. The wake view is beautiful. basenji56 Posted October 17, 2022 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Murano without a doubt. Tuscan can be hit or miss, although it has a better location on the ship.
adolfo2 Posted October 17, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Murano, Not sure if they still offer the wine paring menu (GREAT!) and they lowered the price for us as we had the Premium Beverage Package

I’ve always thought the food in Murano is hit or miss, to the point that we no longer give it a try.😂. Tuscan has always been very nice. Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted October 17, 2022 #11 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Another vote for Murano here. It has a very nice upscale feel and we always get just a little more dressed up when we dine there (not that it’s required). BTW there is another specialty option called le Petit chef. I’ve never done it but many people who have say it’s a one and done for them.
Team Stag Posted October 17, 2022 #12 Share Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) We love Murano as well. Just another reason that S-Class is our favorite. I've enjoyed Tuscan in the past but like others have said; we have found it to be hit or miss as well. We always reserve Murano and occasionally will go to Tuscan (normally when we need to fill nights on a specialty dining package). Rare DisneyJen Posted October 17, 2022 #13 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Another vote for Murano! We found that the food and service in Tuscan Grille, which we have dined in on the Summit (M-Class) and Equinox (S-Class) were good. The service and food we have experienced in Murano were outstanding.
raudacruise Posted October 17, 2022 #14 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Murano! My last two meals at Tuscan were disappointing. Now I don’t bother.
JBSteelerfan Posted October 17, 2022 #15 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Murano all the way!!! Love the tableside lobster.
mahasamatman Posted October 17, 2022 #16 Share Posted October 17, 2022 I will echo the consensus above. Always Murano, and never Tuscan. Tuscan is not worth even half of what they charge.

Cheshire Blue Posted October 17, 2022 #18 Share Posted October 17, 2022 I'd try to do both if you can. Murano is the better (if you're only doing one) but we have also had some excellent meals in Tuscan as well (and the view is simply the best at sea). Enjoy whichever you decide
jwlane Posted October 17, 2022 #19 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Both great, I prefer Tuscan.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 17, 2022 #20 Share Posted October 17, 2022 I'm a big fan of Murano and would always recommend it over Tuscan. My experience has always been that Murano is like 5 star dining and Tuscan in nice but the atmosphere is more like a nice steak hours. A number of dishes in Murano are prepared table side and flambe
